Kinda brings a tear to my eye, I said KINDA!... I too started smoking analogues again along with the eCig, I'm such a maroon sometimes. I'll get back off of it soon. Even thought I have been away and busy dealing with all of the craziness, I missed the forum and the interaction with the members. Of course, according to Chris I'm not in the "awesomest" of members category anymore, but I guess I deserve that. Maybe I can make amends. Anyway It's good to be back...home, here on the VT forum, I missed you guys and I look forward to the coming year.

Don't kick yourself for smoking Michelle, and for sure no need to ditch your best support group for feeling guilty! Almost everyone here knows exactly what you're talking about. It's all good.

I too miss a lot of our former regulars. TSM, keenan, the list could go on. But like Chris said, that's the nature of forums. Someday I'll probably be gone too -- whenever I learn everything. One of the coolest things about VT is that our missing members are missed.

I have been looking and can't find anything negative about vaping. I mean this is the best thing I have done in a long time. I am waiting for the "bad news" this **** will cause your liver to breakdown or your eyes to melt out of your head or something that makes it bad for you.

Other then doing this to the extreme like I am sure some Darwin award a-hole will do or has done. This seems to be the best of both worlds. I get my nicotine and the satisfaction of "smoking" that I can do ANYWHERE.

    I want the ZEUS6...

In fact engadget just recently reported a study which finds electronic cigarettes to be 1,000 times safer than cigarettes (Boston University's School of Public Health)

You know this is a very good question. I can tell you right now, if the day comes and it just might, I will release every bit of information that I have on electronic cigarettes and e Liquid. That includes contacts to order direct from the factories, overstock sources in China and the most effective shipping methods. This should provide enough stock for everyone to survive for quite a while. But of course it's not the ultimate answer.

Following a drop in supply (if it's banned on a large scale there will be no reason for the factories to produce product) I have no doubt the market will go underground. At the moment people sort of look at the government like Mom and Dad. But what happens when Mom and Dad become abusive drug addicts? You grow up, move out and you say F' em.

While the thought of people mixing their own nicotine makes me shudder, you're all adults. Vapor Talk is a platform for information. If legally or financially we're shut down another site will pop up. And like a weed in a garden for every one you kill 2 more pop up. I've said this before, I create the stage but you put on the show. Ultimately, if the people want something, bad enough, they'll get it. It's the American way. Once the boiler has been lit, there is no telling the amount of power it will produce.

heck, if Wikileaks can continue to operate, I'm pretty sure a bunch of Vapers can congregate with very little issue. Some DIY'ers have mastered e liquid mixing to a science (and of course others...not so much) but regardless the information is shared. I say stop asking, start taking.

With all that said however, I don't see a ban in the immediate future, perhaps heavy regulation but in some way, ecigs are here to stay.

    On that note...

Ironic that this should come down on December 7th, which since 1941 was marked as a day remembered in infamy. This time the american people get to be happy winners, instead of blown up survivors.

    Ok, confession time:

I was really struggling to duplicate the great vaping experience I see so often around here. I really had a hard night last night, seemed like none of my cartos were working well. I struggled through, eventually halfheartedly so, and made plans to buy more. Then today I decided to check the mail.....

The Mark Mod I had been somewhat impatiently anticipating, the Mark Mod which the Post Office lost, albeit for only a day, was here. I ceremoniously held the package, doubtfully wondering if I was truly worthy of this distinct honor, then gently wrestled the well sealed parcel with nervous aggression. When I finally got in, the beauty before my eyes gave me pause; its charm and elegance caught me off-guard.

"Oh, I am supposed to use it, " I returned to reality. I had forgotten for a moment its true destiny.
I took the terrible carto off of my ego, a little sad that there would likely be a purchase between me and the glorious moment of Mark Mod Vaping ecstasy. "Whoa Nelly!!!"

This piece is wonderful. I knew it was going to be nice, but this is beyond nice, pleasant, or great. It is excellence wrapped in warm wood craftsmanship, polished with kindness and love. The essence of Mark is evident in every aspect of this piece. It is, in my opinion, the heart and soul of its maker personified and I am honored to have it standing proudly at attention on my desk; a handsome Satinwood soldier ready to serve with graceful aplomb.

Thank you Mark for taking me to the next level of vaping and appreciation of life in general. I expected it to be appealing, but this is exquisite!!

Some have probably read this from another forum I posted it on, but wanted to share it here as well for those who do not travel around to other sites.

First. let me say that I am in NO way afiliated with Evolv. The review and information here is from my own personal experience. Some of the technical info was re-worded by me, from a post made by the manufacturer, but the review is my own.

I was one of the lucky ones to receive a pre-production Darwin to test. If you havent heard of it, The Darwin will be the first power regulated mod. This is not a variable voltage device, but a true power regulated device.

What does this mean? In a typical vv device, the user can adjust the voltage output of the device, usually from a relatively low voltage up to whatever to manufacturer sets the limit at. The Darwin controls both the voltage and the amps, giving the user a steady wattage reading. And steady wattage equals steady heat, and steady heat equals consistent vaping.

I am not a tech head when it comes to electronics, so let me speak in layman's terms here. If you take ANY high voltage mod on the market or homemade, screw on a LR atty, what usually happens? You pop your atty right? Now take the same device, an take 4-5 consecutive drags off of it, what happens? Usually the tip gets extremely hot, the vapor becomes weaker. Why is this? Because as the atty heats up, the resistance of the atty changes, but the device doesnt make any adjustments and just keeps blasting power to the atty.

This is where the darwin differs from anything on the market today. Its actually a smart mod. You can take ANY atty, ANY carto and screw it to the Darwin, set your wattage and it actually reads the resistance, adjusts the amps and voltage, to give the user a steady wattage. Everytime you push the button, the darwin is constantly reading your atty/carto, 1000 times per second, and making slight adjustments to give off a steady power reading.

Adjusting the wattage on the Darwin is simple. Simply rotate the dial to your desired setting. There is an LCD screen that shows you what wattage you are vapping at. Thats pretty much it. No screwdrivers, no pushing and holding buttons down, simply turn the dial.

Now let me give a quick review of the product:

Keep in mind that the unit I received is a pre-production model so the looks are more than likely going to change. What is not going to change is the electrical workings of the device.

Performance wise, the steady power supply makes this device incredible. Never before have I had 100% consistent vape from a device. Every time you push the button, its the same. I can take an LR atty, an 808 carto, a regular 510 atty or whatever else is available, set the watts to 10, and no matter which atty or carto i screw into it, the Darwin delivers a 10 watt vape. Period.

Batteries- The great thing about the Darwin, is there is no more need to buy rechargeable batteries. This device comes with the batteries built in. The manufacturer states that the battery life is good for over 1000 charges, or roughly 3-5 YEARS.

When I first got this, I started using it on a high wattage rating, usually 12.4-12.8 watts and on 1 charge it lasted 13 hours! Thats 13 hours of 100% consistent vaping. No sag in the power, no dropping performance as the battery gets weaker. 13 straight hours of perfect vaping. The unit uses a standard mini usb to charge, so you can use it as a passthru while charging, you can charge and use it while driving with a car charger.

The Darwin for as advanced as it is, is actually extremely user friendly. You have a charge port, a button to make it fire and a rotating dial to adjust the wattage. Thats it. You dont need to be electronically informed to use it, just rotate the dial to the setting that you like best, and push the button to vape. You can adjust the wattage as you are vaping to dial in the perfect sweet spot.

I think that once anyone actually uses this device, sees the difference that being able to have steady power makes, they will have a hard time going back to the run of the mill high voltage device. Variable voltage or not, the same old devices just will not measure up to the Darwin.

I just want to say thanks again to Brandon and Evolv for letting me be one of the lucky to test this unit. When the finished unit becomes available, I will definitely be one of the first in line to pick one of these bad boys up.

Now, lets post a couple pictures of the pre-production model:

I have given myself a nice headache a few times, occasional sore throat--and I definitely vape more than I smoked.
Inhaling any chemicals into your lungs isn't 'Healthy' -- cleaning chemicals, smog, dust .....
For me personally--I feel so much better overall since I started vaping vs smoking. The best option is always to quit altogether, but since for me, thats not going to happen, I'll take my chances with vaping.
Its good to be a bit paranoid--Like snubber said--if the symptoms continue, might be a good idea to get checked out.
    and drink more water.....

When I first started, I really did notice a considerable soreness in the throat region. Very itchy and dry. After reading in the forums, I decided to try a VG based juice to see if I would encounter less irritation. To be honest, I didn't really enjoy the VG based juice as much as the PG. After a few weeks, all of the discomfort in the throat just went away. I rarely have a dry sore throat anymore.

All I can think of, is I also was having some allergy issues at the time, alongside from kicking a long habit of cigarettes. I vape 10-15ml a week, and I'm feeling great. Hopefully this will pass for ya.

Too much vaping? I don't think there is such a thing. LOL Actually, I do vape a lot more than I smoked. But I would have smoked a lot more if not for the cost. I have noticed nothing negative about vaping too much other than when I was vaping high nic and vaping too much. I got lightheaded and a bit dizzy then. I fixed that by lowering my nic level. Now I don't have any problems at all. I do drink a lot of liquid while vaping and maybe that's why I'm doing okay with it. I don't know. I just know I enjoy vaping, I vape whenever I feel like it, and it works for me.

I think you'll find that most of us vape a lot more than we ever smoked. I believe that it's partly because we can without the trouble of going outside or finding a place to smoke.
Also because it's just plain enjoyable compared to what smoking was....a habit.
I think some of the sore throat may be from the PG/VG in the mix. They tend to dry out your throat some and you really need to keep drinking something while you vape.
And like you said, some may be from allergies. So keep mindful of the situation and if it persists you may want to see a doctor and have it checked.
    Either way....enjoy!

    Good luck and happy vaping.

MY EGO ARRIVED TODAY!!!!!! Ok, I've always had AN ego, but today I got THE EGO!!! OMG, what a difference from the piece of crap that will be returned in the mail tomorrow morning!!!! The Fla-vah, the billows of vape, and the BATTERY LIFE!!! Sha-DAMN!!!!!

I must say it again... Thank you all for all your input and help on these forums! Without the time that you've all spent, I would be stuck returning to analogs because it just would NOT have cut it for me! Your suggestions on equipment and the cart mods.... the PTB cart mod is going to save me during the day when I can't drip while I'm in the process of buying cartomizers!! Oh and dripping, What a rush!!!!!

In a previous post, I mentioned that my brain had gone back to analog mode while I waited for the Ego to arrive.... well, I haven't even thought about an analog in the past 5 hours, which is something that did NOT happen over the past week.

Now I'm on the flavor quest, searching for MY all day vape and then the "special moments" vape.

Can you tell I'm a bit excited??

    Thanks again,
    Bahamasvape....

After initially buying a Greensmoke before finding this site, I have just purchased and am anxiously looking forward to the delivery of my EGO! Thanks to the 30 day Money Back Guarantee, Greensmoke will be receiving their less than efficient product back in the mail which will return 1 1/2 times the money I paid for the amazing product I am thankfully about to receive. <yes, it's a bit of a prayer!!!~

I'm with Mark (that's hard to say). Why waste perfectly good booze on an atty when hot water will do the same thing.
My suggestion...put the atty's in very hot water...drink the everclear....sit back and say "the hell with the atty's let's just get drunk".

Why waste perfectly good everclear? I've found that just using hot water and then blowing the attys out w/my air compressor works well. I know that not everyone has an air compressor but just letting the attys dry completely should be enough.

I just used Everclear on my last batch of cleaning. I soaked the cartos and my 2 attys for about a hour, then used a modified nasal syringe (snot sucker)to swish the Everclear through and my cartos and attys were cleaner than I ever seen them. Blew them out with lung power and let them dry overnight. A couple still had the bad taste like they were burnt but most came out great and tasted like new. I am still on the fence whether its worth it or not, cost of Everclear here is $10 for a small bottle, but I guess if I get a week more out of a carto it might be worth it on the long run.
I had been boiling my cartos, and not getting the filler near as clean but our water here is really bad and I was tasting the chlorine even after 48 hours of drying. Just my 2 cents worth.

I use Vodka every now and again. It only takes a little bit in a little glass. Within 6 hrs, they're sparkling clean. I don't trust my tap water, so I then rinse with distilled water. So far so good. I've lost paint from the eliquid itself, but not the booze. Try it with a dead atty/carto first tho. Different proofs and whatnot. EverClear is like totally buzzed

i soak mine in water for about a week, changing the water every morning and night.. sometimes mid day. using hot tap water.
then run hot water direct threw them, blow them out threw both ends using lung power.
let them dry behind my xbox while i play games or set them on the side of my computer that expels heat.

i'm sure a week isn't needed, but i have a nice stock pile of cartos so..
from doing all the other tricks out there i have found no difference in the vapor, taste, or life by doing any other methods.
for attys i usually just don't clean them unless they have a very strong taste that will not come out.
