Basically, you can buy any mod that has a 510 connection with the Big Baby Beast tank, you don't need to buy the exact Smok V8 Stick. If it were me, I'd go with something that would allow me to customize the amount of power the coil in the tank gets instead of a fixed power source like what comes with the V8 stick. Other members around here will give you lots of suggestions on what they like best. What would you prefer, something with a non-removable battery that has high battery life (high mAh) or removable batteries so you can charge them outside the mod? You'd get better bang for the money if you switch to something else.    

Glad it's working for you. With a 1.8 ohm coil I usually vape at 7.8 watts but go up and down depending on what works best for me. Try going down a bit to see if that works even better. If not, you can always go up. The lower your power settings, the longer your charge will last, too.   

Different eliquids require different wattage/power options. Have you tried turning it down? Start low, vape. If it's not doing it for you, turn up a smidge and repeat. Maybe that will help?

I know exactly what problem you are having. I have the same unit and I run into this almost every time I refill the tank. The problem is the coil is not making a connection to the base of the unit. There's two solutions to this problem, first one is pushing down and turning the top of the unit left (basically opposite of what you would do if you were taking the top off to refill) as you rotate you will feel a series of grooves. Try stopping in each groove and firing the unit.
Second one is loosening the coil a bit. I have always tightened the coil as much as possible, I realized backing out the coil just a rotation or two would make it closer to the metal base of the tank.
I'm guessing it is flashing five times rapidly? If so, it means resistance too low. Which would mean you don't have the coil screwed on tight enough to the top or it isn't reaching the bottom of the tank solidly enough. That or the coil is slanted and causing the short circuit warning.
The manual here says:
Functions: Short circuit protection:
1, When the short circuit occurs before working, the button light flashes for 5 times and then powers off. 2, When the short circuit occurs while working, the button light flashes for 3 times before short circuit (reset).
Atomizer protection:
eGo AIO has a 15 second run time protection. The light will flash 10 times if the button is pressed for more than 15 second.
Low voltage protection:
When the battery voltage drops lower than 3.3V, the button light flashes for 40 times and the device will power-off. Charge the device to power device back on.
Resistance test:
1, When the resistance at the output end is >5ohm, the light flashes slowly if you press the button. 2, When the resistance at the output end is <0.3ohm, the light flashes quickly for 5 times, suggesting the ohm is too low or potential short circuit.

If you have it on 45 now, start at around 30 and vape. Not doing it for you? Turn it up a little... say... like to 32 and vape. Repeat that until you get a slight burnt taste and then back it down a few. That should be the sweet spot for that juice.
Another thought just came through. How long have you been using the current coil? It could be that you need a new coil.

Your review was nicely done. One thing I would be interested in knowing is if you purchased the juice or did the manufacturer/vendor send you a free sample for review?

I just read a post where someone tested ejuice with a multimeter and they got a resistance in megaohms.  They did not say anything about how far apart the leads were in the solution.  I guess I can't say for sure, but I doubt juice inside the mod would fire it.  More likely to get between the connections and prevent it from firing.  I've heard weird stories of self firing mods in the past.  Kinda like the spectral locomotive of days past.  Maybe get an exorcist?  Does it say things like "there is no Dana only Zoole"?  That might be a hint. 

Yeah, the K3 is like a large eGo... 1200mAh battery and 1.8 Ohm coil (with 2ml tank).... I suspect it vapes like a Nautilus with 1.8 Ohm coil (MTL only)
Since you don't have any real adjustments, and I don't think coils of any other resistance are available... the only thing you can control is the juice.  @VapeMama suggested moving to a thinner juice, and that will be my suggestion as well.  Most of MTL all-in-one devices prefer juices that are of a specific thickness... The Templar AIO likes 50/50 (PG/VG) juices, but can handle 30/70 if you don't chain vape it.  I'm willing to guess the K3 is more like the vape of a Nautilus (the coils even look like the Nautilus BVC), which works best with thinner juices... 70/30 (PG/VG) to 50/50 max.  Some "clear" juices can be a bit thicker, but 60% VG is about all they can handle (most likely what your problem is being caused by).
Try a thinner juice, or add a few drops of PG to your existing juice (a few drops of distilled water in the tank also will thin a thick liquid), and see how that works out for you?
