Tam reacted to Walt in Bad after-taste
Looks like @Tam might be busy for a bit. She is better at this kind of thing than I am but in the mean time here are a couple things to try / think about.
1. When you start getting that "taste" after the 20 ish hits, pop the top of the atty and check the cotton. Specifically next to and in the coil. Is it well saturated? The limitless has a long distance to wick and if the cotton is too thick they can dry out a bit. If the cotton is getting dark brown or black it is singing. That makes for a bit of a nasty vape.
2. The limitless produces a lot of fog. Do you think your mouth could be drying out? Lots and lots of water while vaping is the answer to that. Personally, I'm weird, diet coke does it for me.
3. If your wicks are cut high, are you tilting the atty long enough between vapes to allow the cotton to wick properly.
I guest last thing I can think of, which is a long shot, is this a new liquid? It may just have an after taste that comes through after vaping a bit.

Tam reacted to Walt in Mechanical mod and ohms
Lol, entirely possible. The only place I see our approaches differing is that I am very reluctant to do the math and give specific answers. There is so damn much involved with these batteries regarding safety. We've got re-wraps out there, completely bogus specs out there. There's battery sag, and of course that 100°C line where thermal runaway can occur. I would much rather the person went to school the way we did and get a rounded education.

Tam got a reaction from Walt in Mixing batteries in rx200
Nope, not a good idea. Listen to the wise words of @Squid, @Rixter and @Walt. They give good advice to not use the batteries you currently have. Go get three new batteries of the same make and model, it's much cheaper to do that than to pay a hospital bill.

I'm going to do you a huge favor and not answer that. You have to understand what you are doing with a mech mod.

Tam reacted to Bebop in NEEDS HELP CAN'T SET UP
wattage mode is correct
your battery is capable of TC Mode (temp control) but your tank is not.
with a .15 coil I would start around 50 watts and bump up from there. watch your voltage. when you hit 3.7 - 4.2 you should be hitting the sweet spot for that coil. take note of what wattage it is and work it from there. higher wattages will tend to burn out the coil faster. lower wattages will be weak and not produce clouds.
Very important to have your air flow wide open. low air flow will also produce unsatisfactory clouds and tend to burn out coils.
hope that helps.

Some of the stats on each build type may give you some insight into the differences.

And... to help you out with this I've merged the two posts together. Please do not start a new post on the same topic, wait for someone else to try to answer your question here.

So you go back to the same post and write a comment that your question wasn't resolved. Someone else may come by to give you a different answer. As you can see above, a different member came by and asked some questions that were already asked and answered in your first post. Instead of having answers all over the place in several different posts and having the same questions asked over and over, it's best to keep it all in one post so you can keep going forward instead of in circles.

Yep. Take a car for instance. Just because your speedometer says it will do 193 kmph (120 mph), doesn't mean that you need to go that fast to go to the corner store. From everything you've posted so far, I'm guessing that you already burned the wick in that coil you're using now so it's ruined. I would replace with a new coil, lower the power and, once it sits for a bit so the wick can get saturated, try turning up the power 2 - 4 watts at a time.

As @Miltgotit5 noted, it sounds like the coil does not have enough liquid in it. It's called a "dry hit". The coil is heating without liquid present. It may be possible that you are vaping with too much power also. After priming your coil it is recommended that you start at a low power setting, even as low as 20 Watts. Vape and then increase the power a couple of watts. Keep doing this until the flavor and vapor production peak. After the peak the flavor will start muting and eventually you will get a dry hit. Also as previously stated even after finding the best power setting some coils will take a little time to soak up liquid between vapes. Each tank and coil are different. There is also a possibility that you may have a bad coil.
Sorry about not having a simple definitive answer but that is the nature of the beast.

Tam reacted to VapeMama in Today is baking day!
Cookies in the oven. I am baking cookies, cookies, cookies! My Oatmeal Raisin Cookies are done and the first pans of Chocolate Chip are in the oven now. Next up will be the the chocolate chip recipe with Craisins instead of chocolate chips.
All of us nurses at work have teamed up to make the nurses aides' Christmas gifts. A couple of weeks back we decorated plates with fabric to put a variety of cookies on, for all of them for Christmas. The plates will be made up on Thursday, ready for our unit Christmas party on Friday. The aides appreciate that the gifts are handmade
There may or may not be 4 dozen of each kind...... just sayin'. I gotta sample you know for quality control purposes!

Tam reacted to Walt in The Eleaf IStick kiya video review
I may fix the audio. I had a tech hell day trying to get the thing finished. Rendering the video completely crashed my primary machine. I'm talking complete instant power off crash. Something I can address later when I have more time. Finally got everything transferred to a laptop and it managed to render the file. Right at the moment I'm just glad to have it posted on YouTube keeping my promise. As far as the "next" idea, I'll have to think about that a bit. I turned my poor doghouse upside down for about three days doing this thing. Just had to give it a shot and see what it was like. The child in me came up with the blastisimo intro and outro, lol.

Tam got a reaction from Walt in Scary s$&t
Nope. Sorry, not buying the scare tactics, and that's just what this is. The genie is out of the bottle, there's no going back now. Even if all the mom and pop shops are gone, there will still be the black market. China makes too much money from vaping equipment to give up so easily, and other than nicotine, eliquid is very easy to make for yourself.
