And more options come around every day. Welcome to vaping.

"That" tells you wrong. And why would you assume that I need someone else to build a coil for me if I'm waiting on an RBA? Actually, I just ordered the build deck so I'm waiting for that to get here. I'm perfectly capable of building my own coils, and have been doing fine with my RDAs for some time now.

Rich, I really appreciate your suggestions and I don't want you to think I'm shooting any of them down. Looks like we're on the same page because I've already tried all the air flow settings, started on the lowest power setting and moved up, and am using a 3" drip tip. I really did try everything I could to like the subtank mini and make it work. The only thing I haven't tried yet is the RBA, but I'm waiting for that to come in.

Tried the iClear 30 way back in the day and found it has too much wick (that's all I could taste), for me. There are other "perfect" mouth to lung tanks like the Kanger Pro Tanks and minis (one, two and three), the Davide and mini, Aerotank and Aerotank V2... but those are not sub ohm tanks. The sub ohm tank that allows for great mouth to lung hits is what I'm looking for now.

Me too, I wanna know.

*falls over laughing* Okay, I'll play. iStick 50W 40 PG/60 VG at 3 mg nic. 1.5 ohm coil at 10W, airflow wide open
-
Lol! Actually, three in front of me, one in purse and one in briefcase. The Spinners and IPV mini and mini 2 are "for emergencies". But I like your idea better!
-
I've got five now...
-
Even with the 1.5 ohm coil, it's still too hot or too harsh on the subtank mini. *sighs* I'm starting to feel like Goldilocks, lol.

Welcome to Vapor Talk. You're getting a lot of good advice from Earthling and Bebop. I totally agree with Bebop that the Subtank is not a good tank for someone who draws mouth to lung (like when I was smoking cigarettes). That makes me cough up a lung, even using the 1.5 ohm coil. Still looking for a good sub ohm tank that's made for mouth to lung. Thought I'd found it but I haven't yet.

Great minds and all that, but I can't even get it working...

Welcome to Vapor Talk.

I've been in touch with Dustin from Kidney Puncher. So far, we've already gone over all the "tips" he gave me to troubleshoot this. He said, in his last email, that he will research it a bit and get back to me.

No flames. There are too many stories out there about batteries and chargers going up in smoke lately. lol You've got some interesting ideas though, Bebop. Just douse the flames and replace with vapor?
-
That's a sizable savings! And the upside is you can customize to your heart's delight. Go you!

Yes, the KPT3 (full sized) is a dual coil and yes, the air flow controller works on them and yes, the single coils also work.
-
Fasttech has them for a little over $5 each. 101Vape is offline till later on today for site maintenance. I think so. They've replaced my Davide minis if that tells you anything. KPT3 minis are so much easier to fill too.
-
Wait. Where are you finding them 3 - 4 for $20? I got some from my local B&M at $10 and thought that was cheap. Looks like I need to do some shopping research.
-
Why did no one tell me about the KPT 3 mini? It's an amazing little tank. To tell the truth, I picked up the first one because I liked the drip tip. Once I tried it, I got four (or was it five?) more due to the performance. The 1.8 ohm single coil is what I prefer in the tank. They're inexpensive and pretty much plug and play (or should I say fill and vape?). No frills, no high maintenance.
-
Even though I vape 3 mg nic these days and direct drip using the iStick 50W, I always keep a Vision Spinner (not the V2, the original with no problems), a Davide mini (nearly identical to the KPT 3 mini) with 24 mg Mojito flavor nearby. That's what I go to at work when I need to get through a stressful day or can't vape as often. The KPT 3 mini performs amazingly well and can use the much cheaper single coil, which is what I use. One size does not fit all where vaping is concerned.
-
I know you like the temperature control and the fancy things, but have you tried just a simple variable voltage eGo or Vision Spinner and a KPT mini with 24 mg nic for work? They're light, fit into pockets and is easily portable. Leave the fancy stuff for home and use something functional at work. Might be worth a try if you want off the cigs.
-
What mg of nic are you using? Maybe bump it up for a little while to get you over the hard part?
-
These days I use mostly 3 mg anyway. Thanks, Bebop. Might give them a try.
-
What's the mAh rating on this, Jason?
-
Hey Bebop. A little more info on the juice? It's my sign and I'm curious.
