  1. The temperature I started at was 300F but I went all the way to 570F with no joy. I love Kanger products and would have no problem changing to a different mod. Thanks for the rec, I'll keep it in mind. Where did you get yours?
  2. So... I finally jumped in and got a temperature control device and the nickel coils to go with my Triton 2. They all came in this week but I waited for the weekend so I could have time to play with it. Put the .15 ohm coil into the Triton (primed it first), waited a few minutes for the wick to get thoroughly saturated. Put the iStick 40W into temperature control mode. Locked the resistance in at .16 ohm, set the temperature to 200F to start. Nothing. It's not firing. When I check the resistance, it's now reading at 0.06 ohm. This is why it's not firing as the iStick 40W only goes to 0.15 ohm in TC. Changed to a different coil. It reads 0.16 ohm (both on the iStick and on an independent ohm meter). Let it sit for a bit. Take another look and it's back at 0.06 ohm and won't fire. I've put in an email to VapeNW for an exchange as I think I got a bad one, but probably won't hear back from them until Monday. In the mean time, for those of you who are more experienced in TC, do you have any suggetions?
  3. No biggie. I still think one coil at a time works best for me.
  4. Thanks for the information, Earthling, I know I can always count on you. Man, but that would suck if you thought you had two coils with the same resistance and they weren't built right... One coil at a time if more than enough for me.
  5. TWO??? Do you know how long the coils last, Earthling? With the dark, sweet juices I vape, that could get very expensive very quickly.
  6. One good thing about coils... even if you don't build your own, you can easily buy pre-wound coils. How will the government stop sales of coiled wire? I've got all kinds of back ups that will last me for quite some time, the only things I would want to stock pile more is prebuilt coils and juice. If worse comes to worst I think I would be able to stop vaping without too much trouble now that my nic level is already so low. Still, it's stupid of the government to make this move.
  7. What did you use to measure the resistance of your coil?
  8. If I remember correctly, Ni200 isn't awful to build with as long as you torch the wire first. These days, with the stress levels going up, I'm trying to simplify everything I can.
  9. I've got four RBAs for the Triton, I just don't have the patience these days to build my own coils.
  10. I think it's more like "never put off 'til tomorrow what you can spend today" around here anyway.
  11. Even while I've been reading all the posts about TC, it doesn't mean that I retained any of the information. I'll be asking questions like a noob when my order comes in. You've all been warned.
  12. Thanks, Bebop. I've been reading all the posts going on about TC and was thinking (somewhere far in the distance of time), that I might want to look into getting one... some day. With Cany and Earthling both ganging up on me, I guess that some day turned into today.
  13. Although I have a couple of the Triton RBA, I just don't want to be building coils at the moment -- no patience. If I can't buy pre-made, I won't be using them at the moment. VapeNW was able to cancel my order, issue an instant store credit so I could redo my order with the correct coils. Done. Thanks for the assistance in spending my money. The bank will be happier to know that my account isn't so full now.
  14. Why would they not work with the 40TC? I just sent an email asking if VapeNW would change my order to two 5-packs of the Ni200 instead.
  15. Timing is everything.
  16. No fair, you two ganging up on me. So you both caught me at a weak moment... one Eleaf iStick 40W-TC in gray and two 5-packs of SS 0.4 ohm TC coils are on their way.
  17. Et tu, Cany? *sighs* Nice try but I don't own a TC mod (I prefer those that don't have external batteries).
  18. Between not having enough time and too tired/lazy to do thorough research to find "just the right one" and "the ones that go together," I don't think I'll be buying any new TC mod and tank anytime soon. It's so bad that I can't be bothered to see what kind of TC coil the Titan uses, lol.
  19. Aaarrggghhhh!
  20. Yes, I believe Triton makes TC coils but they're all sub-ohm... wouldn't that make a difference in heat production even in TC mode?
  21. Earthling, you are NOT helping! So far I've been able to keep from buying a TC mod because I really couldn't find a reason to change from what works for me right now. And here you go with all the "cooler vape" and "...without all the heat." One of my big things is trying to get a cooler vape but not sacrificing the flavor for it, which is why I use the extra long drip tips. UGH.
  22. In the past, direct dripping was the best for flavor. With the tanks and coils out these days, this really isn't true anymore in my opinion. For several years I paid $20 a pop for the HH.357 atomizer. For me, it gave me the best flavor as well as vapor production. Hundreds of dollars in new tanks to find a replacement never yielded anything close to the HH.357 until some of the new tanks came out. The Aspire Triton 2 with a factory 1.8 ohm coil gives me even better flavor than the HH.357 that it replaced. Even my RDAs don't come close. Just my two cents and experience.
  23. While I'm no doctor or any kind of medical professional, I would guess that it might be from getting too much nicotine? What nicotine level is he using? Also, the type of tank and resistance of coil would make a difference in how much nicotine he's getting. Please only post once, duplicate posts will be deleted. Thanks.

It could also be that the center pin got pushed down. Try to pull it up a little.
  25. Just my opinion and my personal favorite is the Eleaf iStick 50W. It's nothing fancy, comfortable in my hand, it's VV/VW and very easy to use. There are no external batteries and it has a 4400 mAh battery built in. Even when I'm chain vaping I only have to recharge it once every 3 - 4 days (more usually 4). Pair this with a Kanger Aerotank V2, some 1.8 ohm coils, and you're good to go for quite some time. All of these things that I listed are for maximum ease of use (my opinion only), are proven workhorses, and just do the job. The only other thing would be your juice.
