Rixter got a reaction from Bebop in Temp control, necessity or gimmick?
I can tell absolutely zero difference in the taste of my juices between using Nichrome, Kanthal, and Nickel coils. I've heard vapers say that they can tell the difference, but I'd love to see the results of a blind taste test between the three. I think that different builds contribute to variances in taste, but I really don't see how the composition of the coil wire has anything to do with the taste of the juice. Of course, that's just my opinion...I'm fine with all three. If there's some fact as to how this could be so, I'm all ears.

That's the biggest problem I've encountered...while RDAs would benefit from TC the most, because of the ultra low resistance of Ni200, it's almost impossible to squeeze a dual coil nickel setup into one. It might not be so tough in a 26650-sized RBA, though.

Picked up a troll RDA for $29 and my Simple Mod clone ($16 eBay) came in. Did a patina, striped the bottom and 4 coats a matte clear.

I've not used any Ni200 premade coil heads in my Subtanks so I can't speak about those, but I have made coils for the Subtanks' RBA heads and they perform beautifully. I also refitted an eGo One tank's coil head with a Ni200 coil and it works just as good.
I think that where TC really shines is in RDAs and tanks where you can't really see what's going on under the hood. It's really hard to see your juice level in an eGo One tank (I've unintentionally run out of juice in it several times) and with most RDAs, so when you run dry, TC kicks in and keeps your coil temp from skyrocketing, thus eliminating charred wicking material and a burning throat and watering eyes. Run dry with no TC on a Kanthal build and...well, you know what happens.

Sounds like you're doing everything just as you should. I build my own coils which requires preheating the coil before wicking, so I have to let it cool to room temperature before attaching it to the device.
Just make sure to manually prime the wick in the coil head with a little eliquid before putting it in your filled tank.

By the way, dry-firing a Nickel coil shouldn't affect it's performance at all...the whole premise of TC was to prevent skyrocketing temperatures when your wick goes dry.

V2 has a black sleeve around the clear plastic box and V1 has a white sleeve around the clear plastic box, but you can eliminate the guesswork by just going here.

I've been looking around on the web trying to find some extra adjustable connection top caps for the Heatvape Invader Mini 50W but have had no luck so far. I think it would a lot easier switching out atomizers if you could just leave the Invader's connection ring on them, and they make a pretty stable base for your atties when they're not in use, too.

I emailed Heatvape about where to buy them in the U.S. and I'm waiting on a reply...I'll post their information as soon I get it.

That's weird because I've also heard about people using twisted Nickel and Kanthal (for added coil strength) strands successfully in TC mode. The TC circuit should recognize the path of least resistance, which would be the Nickel wire strand.

Thanks, man. I've been wanting to take a couple of days off work anyway, so it was perfect timing.

By far the best custard I've tried is Vaping Watch's Clockwerks Custard. It's not too sweet and has a true custard flavor.

"The CLR Atomizer Head is a newly designed atomizer head made for the eGo One. Compared to the traditional eGo One CL atomizer heads, the "R" stands for Reusable, Rewickable and Rebuildable. The CLR features a unique body design, allowing users to conveniently replace the cotton and customize the coil resistance to their preference. Organic cotton is used for wicking material of the CLR, which provides robust flavor output."

So far Im liking this 24w 520-temp wide open airflow Tip gets a bit hot at the end of  the hit (for me) but its doable. Im vaping a juice I had today all day in the Naut mini and with the kanger setup Im tasting another flavor at the end which I never tasted with the mini

Cool!  I really like mine.  I think the coil broke in and went it to tasting good. I want to buy a bell cap like Rixter, and an oring kit.  I am really starting to enjoy this Temp Limiting stuff.  My mod may be a bit off, it is showing .11 - .12 ohms.  I am finally getting it set the way I like it.  I may try come up with a nickel build for the Lemo2 this weekend.

I have been using one last night and all day today, and I really like them. I have ran nearly 10ml of Frutti-Tutti thorough it.  I realize our mods use different settings, but I am running it at 420F and 28 Watts and it is great!  It did seem like it took a while to break in, and I did drip a few drops into the middle and each side to prime it.

I'm not going bore you all with a long, drawn out review of yet another eliquid today. I'll just tell you that if you like custard-flavored juice, I doubt you'll find anything better than Clockwerks Custard. When you get a chance to try some for yourself, I'm sure you'll agree with me that it tastes exactly like a great vanilla custard, and you'll be hard-pressed to put it down. This isn't one of those juices that sort of tastes like what it says it is...vaping this juice is just like eating a big ol' spoonful of the best vanilla custard you've ever tried.

    From the product page:

"Clockwerks Custard is the culmination of nearly 6 months of work, testing, adjusting, and testing again in an effort to make the best Proper British Custard flavor in the industry.  We approached this task considering flavor and flavor alone when crafting this e-liquid and the end result is a rich, creamy, and oh-so-pure, TRUE Vanilla Custard!  In Clockwerks Custard we didn't include other flavors like Caramel, Butterscotch, or additional sweeteners.  When you vape Clockwerks, you taste the smoothest, purest, finest Custard flavor you can possibly get!  Simply put, there just isn't a better Proper British Custard out there!!

This flavor was created with 100% Diacetyl Free ingredients."

There are a couple of options available, so since I prefer sub-Ω RDAs at the moment, I chose the 30ml dropper bottle of 3mg dripper formula (my Kanger Subtank has absolutely no problems wicking it, though).

No, it doesn't shut off or stutter the power. It actually adjusts the power smoothly to keep things at your preset temperature limit.
