  1. Hey Uma, I have a wick question for ya. You said earlier roughly 2mm by 3mm peice of mesh for a wick. In phils video's he's usually using around about 1 3/4" x 2", which is 44.45mm x 50mm give or take. His wicks look larger than most of the other videos i've watched, but not THAT much larger lol. Can you clarify the size of mesh for wicks? About what size do you usually use?

Also, you noted the wicks can last as long as 6 months, which is awesome. About how many times would you rebuild your coil during the lifespan of 1 wick? Too many to count or just a couple?

Lastly, when you rebuild your coil, will just a soak in vodka clean out the wick sufficiently?

Thanks for all your help! :)

  2. Thanks for all the info! That's sorta my plan, start out with the AGA T+ or T2 for the learning curve, then probably eventually step up to something a little more quality. I'll want more than one of these things floating around anyways :)

  3. Thanks for the advice! What's the D## mean for the DIDs? Looking at MMvapors and all i'm seeing is the D20 and D16. They're a little more pricey than i'd like, but we'll see if i can convice myself to spend that much by the time i finally pull the trigger :-p

  4. Just watched these on my lunch break, i like the look of the AGA-T+ but want to do some research on the smaller wick hole. The more of these videos i watch the more i realize a genny is inevitably in my future lol.

Also watched his 'Game Changer' video. He had me on the edge of my seat. Dammit Phil! lol

  5. Picked one of these up and been enjoying it so far. I've built 5 coils, the first 2 "worked" but weren't enjoyable at all. I had hot spots all over the place and my coil was sitting way too far away from the posts.

My last 2 coils have performed great, starting to get the hang of it i think. I have noticed it seems to gunk up quickly, 3 or 4 days if that's all i use. Have you experienced that all Uma? I'm using nichrome wire, i don't know if switching ti Kanthal would make any difference? Who knows.

Once i have the wrapping and building coils down i think i'm gonna pick up an AGA-T+ or maybe a DID. Still not sure, gotta do more research on what else is out there, but i think i like the look of the AGA-T+ better than any of the other gennys i've seen so far, which isn't many lol

  6. Thank you Uma and mse for taking the time to build this thread. I'm just getting started on researching RBAs, so i'm a long ways away from actually enjoying one, but knew this would be a good place to start. First things first, i think i need to pick a category and run with it.

Genny's seem too involved for me at the moment, maybe once i get my feet wet with something else I'll be feeling a little more brave. I like the look and size of the IGO-L, so maybe a dripper would be a good place to start.

Anyways, just wanted to say thanks for all the info, and i'm just scratching the surface of everything in this subforum

  7. Actually, it kinda is. Many of us have found that we vape (even chain vape) a LOT more than we ever smoked. Most of us go with a low nic level when we vape that much so as to not over do it and get a nicotine overdose... :D

Agreed. It's very normal to vape that much when you vape a low nic level. I vape prolly 4-5 ml's a day at 12mg.

  8. Kathy i think you're referring to the premium100 model versus the regular model. I started on blu as well but honestly, it didn't take me long before i wanted more battery life.

Basically, w/ the blu, you should always match the battery with the cartridges so:

Premium100 battery goes with Premium100 cartridges

Standard battery goes with Standard cartridges

Just double check the name of the item online to verify you're getting the right one. Welcome to VaporTalk!

  9. I agree w/ mse, pick up a couple vision spinner batteries for your power. The kits don't matter as much you feeling like you're paying a good price. Hundreds of online stores have them.

Have to agree on their the vivi nova or mini vivi nova too for the device. They give a great vape experience and are extremely user friendly. As for the liquid, you're own your own :) try anything and everything but everyone has to find what works for them b/c everyones tastes are so different!

  10. My wife told me the other day that the reason that she prefers 18 mg. over 24 mg. is because she loves to vape, and she can't vape as much when she's using higher nic levels. I'm the same way...I just love vaping, and only use higher levels at work when I can't vape as much as I'd like to. It just goes to show you that many of us enjoy vaping more for the taste than for the nicotine.

I second this. I started at 24mg, then down to 18mg, now i'm down to 12 and looking to move down to 8 soon. I love vaping and i just want to watch my nic intake.

  11. All good recommendations, but if you're looking for a good performance and features without the price, i gotta throw the vamo into consideration. I've been loving mine. Variable Voltage, Variable Wattage, ohm meter, and battery life check. Oh and you can use it as a full size or mini to boot.

I don't have the "recommended" batteries for it, i just use my efest and AWR IMR 18650's with a battery spacer from avid vaper which eliminates the spring/jiggle issue. The mod only is like $60 most places. Add in a battery and charger and you have everything you need for well under $100.

  12. I looked over the website you posted. It says Vision several places so it should be real, otherwise that website is false advertising like whoa. Most of the knockoffs i've seen are just labeled vivi nova and don't specifiy Vision as the manufacterur.

Like mse said, if you're missing the little rubbed peice that sits on top of the attomizer head you're sure to get leaking

  13. I've found there's 2 main giveaways for the fakes.

#1 The fakes usually have a taller atty head than the real ones. The very bottom of a true vivi nova head should be about 75% of the way up the tank when screwed into the post. The fakes are usually closer to 50%.

#2 The top metal cap on the real vivi novas has a hole about the same diameter as your 510 drip tip. The fakes have a smaller hole, proclaiming it helps leaking with a tighter seal. All it does for me is make the draw too tight to bear, plus i've never had leaking probelms on my real vivi.

Those are the 2 main differences in the vivi nova copies i've seen, and i really didn't like how the fake performed. Draw was way too tight and i got scratchy hits about 50% of the time. I did the same thing and thought i was buying the real deal but when i did a side by side with the real one i had it was clear it was a knockoff.
