  1. I don't know how they did this, but it really cool. Reverse Lipsinc
  2. My first thought would be a weekend thing. Suppliers might set up a booth and show mods, or give away samples. It could be a big thing. I think it would be great to put my hands on the hottest new devices out there, ya know? Just a thought....
  3. I need a reason to travel this summer and I can't think of a better one right off. What do you folks think about a convention? Where would we have it? What would we do? How long would it be? Vote and post your comments......
  4. Boy, she's cute as a button, ain't she. She's just a teen, ya know. I'll bet her Dad watches that video and just wells up with pride, as he should. I'm sure it's 98% jitters, but when she says that a big reason is cause a lot of americans don't have maps, I just fall down laughin'.
  5. Couldn't agree more.... As I wrote about yesterday I was on Chantix for three months and I did the support group that the commercial refers to. It's honestly a joke. When you first start the meds you call into a 1-800 number and answer a questionaire. One of the questions asks what the best day of the week and best time of day to call you is. So, after that, you get a call once a week at the time you stated, and a telemarketor asks you some questions for like 5 minutes and then wishes you continued success and hangs up. Thats the support. This continues for three weeks, then you never hear from them again. You can call them too, but it's not successful quiters your talking to; they actually sound like hungover college students. But from the beginning, they emphasize how the support is only for 3 weeks. As a medical professional, I would hardly call this support. However, if you quit the Chantix, they hound you for a month trying to get you to buy the product again. It's really lame. Long live VaporTalk......
  6. Welcome to the forum, bud. Your gonna be so impressed with how much better you feel after vaping. I just know it. This e-cig thing really does work. Don't let your experience with Blu change your determination. You'll also be impressed with the cost savings over analogs. Just hang in there.
  7. This is exactly what I keep coming up against. As soon as I understood how much more healthy the e-cigarette is, I was so excited about trying them I couldn't keep still! It's amazing to me that not everyone sees this. I started a topic a while back in the general discussion section called, "Second Hand Nicotine". There were all kinds of comments about skeptics and how difficult it is to get them to see the light sometimes. At first, I was offended when people looked at me like I was nuts, but now I just let it slide. After all, I didn't quit for them. I quit for me.
  8. I got a Xmas card from Jeff at Wordup, which was super nice. Other than that I didn't get a single thing for vaping!! How inconsiderate is that?!? I've been telling everyone I know about how happy I am over stopping the analogs and nobody thought to get me some juice or nothin'! I got a George Forman Grill....A George Forman Grill? Whats up with that?!? Is that suppose to be some kind of hint, or somethin?!? I also got 2 pair of pajama pants. You know, those nice plaid ones? Yea, those. They were like 3 sizes too big!! I'm sportin' these things up under my armpits, for cryin' out loud!! My family must think I'm HUGE!! Oh yea, and I also got an ice scraper for my car's windshield...It plugs into your cigarette lighter and has a silly heating element in it thats suppose to melt the ice to make it easier to scrape off. I mean, come on!! Everybody knows I'm too fat and lazy to stand in the freezin' cold and scrape my windshield! I start my car and melt the ice the way God intended. With Gasoline!!
  9. I tried Chantix. I mean I really tried it! For three months I was on that stuff. It actually worked for awhile even. Basically, Chantix is suppose to block the seritonin receptors in the brain. As you may know, when nicotine is introduced in the brain it releases seritonin, which is that hormone that helps to relax us. By blocking these receptors, Chantix keeps nicotine from giving us that relaxing feeling. It also kind of replaces seritonin with a simular chemical that helps us curve cravings. I was really excited when I started taking it. Right away I started to reduce the amount of cigarettes I smoked, and by my quit date I was feeling really good about my chances for success. I felt a little quezzy at first but other than that I didn't have many side effects myself. It did give me some REALLY VIVID dreams too. Boy, those had to be the BEST dreams I've ever had. I'll never forget one of them. I had all kinds of wierd dreams, but unfortunately, no dreams of Selma Hyack, which really bumbed me out. I dreamed I was in the checkout lane at Wal-Mart and I was standing in line behind a giraffe. I could actually smell it!! The most realistic dream I've ever had. I have no idea what in the heck it might have meant, and I probably don't want to know. Lol, I never felt depressed, or suicidal, or even Homocidal for that matter. I think that may have something to do with a person's outlook an life, maybe. Some people may just be more prone to it than others. And introducing chemicals that effect seritonin is always tricky. Brian wrote about the success rate of Chantix, and he makes the most important point about this pill. You can only trick your brain with synthetic chemicals for so long. I took this stuff for three months. I did the support group thing and everything. The success rate after 2 months plummets to 5% according to my doctor and the research I've seen from private studies. I was back to smoking after 1 month. It started with me cheating just a couple of times a day, but after 2 months I was basically back to my previous habits. Chantix is actually more expensive than e-cigs. A month supply cost me $110. And the Pharmacuetical company advises that you stay on the pill for up to a year! Wonder why that is.... I got my 510 in the mail on October 24th. I haven't had a single cigarette since my very first vape. Hows that for success!?!
  10. Hey Oper8tor..... Jealous of the D11? I wouldn't be. Sure it's big and all but it's also really boring. Dozer Push in a coal mine is 12 hours of long pushin' overburden at a 6% downhill grade. Just back and forth. Nothin' fun like buildin' roads or pads. I think my favorite would have to be the D8R. As I'm sure you know, the most important thing is just bein' able to get off those damn analogs. Thats all that matters really. Keenan has a good point about the automatic batteries. I forgort about how sound and pressure changes can activate those things. I'm also really wondering how ANY e-cig is gonna hold up to the dust. I think thats what gonna be most harmful. Most people don't realize just how dusty a dozer can be, even in a tight cab. It's worse than spendin' all day playin' beach volleyball! I'm really interested to hear how they hold up for ya.
  11. Welcome, BMW....You found the right place. Kickin' those analogs will be a lot easier than you think....
  12. Hey Oper8tor2, welcome to the forums...I've been in the healthcare industry for years and have returned to nursing this last year, but I too have been an operator. Most of my experience, (about 5 yrs) has been on dozers. Lol, so I have a pretty good idea of what your day is like. From one dozer operator to another, I'm kinda worried that your gonna have trouble vaping while pushing. When I smoked I couldn't drive to the store without a smoke. And I always had a smoke in my mouth while pushin'. You say your not a heavy smoker, so this may not be an issue for ya, but then again, it might. It's pretty tough to hold an e-cig in your mouth while dozin'. But it's not impossible. The 510 really is the most popular model out there. And it's pretty economical. I've been smoke free since October 24th and I've only spent $230 so far. And I can vape with what I have now till February! Check out my topic in the general e-cig section of this forum titled "Are E-cigs economical?". You might find it interesting. Manual batteries are considered better than automatic batts because of dripping. Dripping with automatic batts can be hard on the batts because of the hole at the end of the batt. E-liquid gets into the batt, thru that hole, and messes up the switch, I guess. But manual batts have a button that you have to push in order to activate it. So you have to use one hand to vape, and that might conflict with your ability to work efficiently, huh? You might get away with one hand operation in a Loader, or a Scraper, or a haul truck, but not in a Dozer or Blade, am I right? Also, the 510 has round carts. A round, hard, plastic mouth piece that might be a little difficult to hold in your mouth. But I think you can get flat-tipped carts that are much easier to hold between your teeth. I would also think about getting a tether, or leash for it. Droppin' that thing in yur dozer is gonna piss you off, lol. It should hold up to the jarring tho. The 510 has a fancy charging accessory called a PCC. This would be all you need for charging. It will keep your gear safe and in a nice organized case that will fit in your front pocket. I don't know what kind of equipment you run, or if it's new or old, or if your in the same rig every day or are in a different dozer all the time but it might not have a working cigarette lighter in it. The PCC will re-charge a 510 batt 4 times before you need to recharge the PCC. And your probably pretty used to keeping stuff in plastic bags because of the dust already. Your e-cig gear should be kept safe from dust. We're not talkin' about normal amounts of dust, either. This is Industrial grade dust!! You might find something better, bud, but I think the 510 is the way to go for you at work, anyway. You want something light but durable. Thats the 510... What kind of work do you do? I worked mostly in our local open-pit coal mines. I've run mostly Cats. My last job was on a D-11N, but I've run 6's, 7's, 8's, 9's, and 10's too. I love the new D10T. Let me know if this stuff helps ya bud. And feel free to PM me if you have more questions.......
  13. Fantastic posts by everyone. Thank you Chris, for starting this poll. I'm against this new bill because I feel it's wrong on several levels. Most of those reasons have been written about already, so I won't bother with repeating things. "the Individual Mandate" (required coverage): Basically, it's illegal to not have health insurance. Thats how our government proposes to fix some of our health care issues. The government will decide whether you can afford insurance or not. If it says you can afford it, and you don't have it, you will be fined 2.5% of your annual income. The senate says that it will collect more than $200M a year from these fines. "Employer Obligations": Employers with 200+ employees will be required to provide insurance and it's employees will NOT be able to opt out. Employers with 50-200 employees will have to pay $750/worker/year if they don't offer health insurance. And bosses with less than 50 employees won't have to provide insurance. I can hear the paystubs shrinking already....and you can bet that the plans provided will be the cheapest a company can find. Life-time limits are suppose to be eliminated. Now this is a good thing! Same with pre-exsisting conditions. So now I can't be denied coverage solely because of my current health and it's cost to my provider. But doesn't anyone see the elephant in the room? What will this do to premiums? Hmmm. "The public option" (Govnt-run healthcare): The senate bill doesn't have a public option. Period. The house bill does. The house says it wants to have a govt. program that will compete with private plans. I guess the idea is that this plan will be much cheaper and cause private insurers to drop thier premiums, thereby making healthcare cheaper in the long run. Thats ridiculous, and this debate is what devides the house and senate. It will be the biggest arguement on the hill "Abortion": This is one of the many issues that will be under-minded with this new bill. How many parasitic laws and legislations will come into effect with the passing of this bill is anybody's guess. The bill itself, if written on single-sided notebook paper, would stack up almost 3 feet! If your pro-choice, the rights you believe in are being sabotaged by the pro-life aspects of this bill. President Obama will sign this bill. He's not going to read this bill, in it's entirity, and possibly veto it because of some legislation that he might disagree with. He wants to be an 8 year president. And he's hoping that this kind of "reform" will get him there....

Hey Jeff, give us link, will ya? The idea actually sounds kinda cool.....
  15. Wow, how you folks can afford that is beyond me, lol. I wrote a rather lengthy post about a month ago in the general e-cig discussion area entitled "Are electronic cigarettes economical (and will they make me a better lover)". At that time I had spent $198. I even itemized it all, lol. Since then, I've spent another $32.00 on e-juice from Johnson Creek. I even included shipping costs. So my grand total cost for vaping so far has been $230.00! And unless I loose an atty or something I won't need supplies for another month or more. I think the e-cig is much more economical than analogs. I cut my juice with pg, too, so.... I really want a spade. I guess maybe next month I'll get one of those, but other than that, I can't see myself spending any more than that except for maybe attys, which are getting a little weak. Oh, and I swear I haven't had a single analog since the day my 510 came in the mail. My car smells great, my house smells great, and I feel great.
  16. Great response, Jeff!! Exactly my point! Many critics of the FED have this theory about 1913. In 1913, the US was broke. The federal reserve was created because of fear that we couldn't pull out. FEAR!! Probably the WORST cause for government to jump to hasty decisions. OK, so when the FED was created (with a private banking system running it), the US needed a way to pay back the reserve. So it ratified the constitution in order to enact and levy an income tax. The first income tax, and a great deal of it today, goes to pay back a private bank! And that bank charges interest. Your income tax goes to to pay interest on debt. And now we're bailing out other banks too!! The Federal Reserve is a private entity. Many people think that it is like Fort Knox, or something. Like it's run by the government. It's actually a private banking cartel!! There's absolutely nothing Federal about it. I call this form of economics "shotgun economics", because when you figure out what it's all about you want to put a shotgun in your mouth....
  17. ROFLMAO, du du di du du. Roflmao du du di du....I freakin' love that video. As we spoke about before, Keenan, when it's all said and done we're on the same side, you and I. I have no reason to disagree with you. In fact I also have some comments about the IRS I could share with you too, lol. I fear mostly that I might come off as a bit of an extremist, or even a conspiracy nut job. Believe me when I say that I'm actually pretty moderate in my day to day life and have a long history of conservative voting. However, the past couple of years has really caused me to change the way I look at our government and I'm afraid this current economic crisis has a lot to do with it. Have you looked at the website from my original post yet? If you haven't, I should warn you, Bud. It does have some pretty inflammatory stuff on it. Some of it I don't particularly agree with. I named this topic "The Obama Deception" because thats the video I think is most pertinent to the conversation here and on your topic about change now. I also like the video entitled "Freedom to Fascism". I hope you check them out. Also, the first video in the series is a lesson about world government and kinda puts us all on the same page when discussing different forms of government. I was really hoping to hear comments regarding these videos and get your take on them. The current economic crisis we're in, and the ugly way in which banks seem to be getting away with things these days is exactly what angers me most of all. Thats why I'm so concerned with ending the federal reserve. Criticism of the FED OK, so how about that IRS, huh? You may already be aware of this, but there has been a running debate about the laws surrounding federal income tax for years. Did you know that there is no actual law stating that citizens are required to pay federal income tax, or that you have to file at all? In fact, the constitution actually guards against it, according to some. Just google IRS law. You'll find it. You may not know about this, though. Federal income tax has been levied several times during the history of the US but mainly only during times of war, like the war of 1812 and the civil war. In 1896, the US supreme court ruled that income tax was unconstitutional, because it was not apportioned among the states. But it was later re-enacted with the 16th amendment. And guess what year that was. It was 1913. The same year of the federal reserve act. 1913 was a tough time for the USA. We were going through EXACTLY the same type of crisis we're going through today....
  18. The website I spoke of in my original post can give you a great deal of insight into what we're talking about. You can also check out Wikipedia. I would suggest maybe looking at the Federal reserve act of 1913, and especially critism of the federal reserve act. Those two Wikipedia topics should explain my case exactly. I couldn't help but notice that you've made several comments regarding banks in the other topic thread about change. You critisize GS and AIG. Honestly, this is music to my ears. I couldn't agree more with your comments posted there. I think that if you looked closely at the federal reserve system (My link) and read a little about Austrian business cycle theory, you would quickly see that eliminating the federal reserve system is in our nations best intrests. Many critics of the FED blame them for the current situation we're in right now.
  19. Well, I think it would be much better than what it's based on now, which is nothing. Our politicians need more and more money to fund all of the government programs that they institute. And our federal income tax doesn't even come close to paying for it all. So what does our government do? It borrows money from the federal reserve. But often the FED doesn't have the money to lend the government, so it MAKES more. Just prints up more money from thin air. Then it charges our government interest! On money it made for free! Whats up with that? Why doesn't our government just get rid of the FED and make it's own money? Inflation is not what we need in this kind of economy. At least if the government printed it we wouldn't have to pay interest on it. Our constitution says that our money will be based on gold and silver. It says that for a very good reason.
  20. Your presumption was wrong, Keenan. I started this topic as a respectful response to your topic, sir. I mentioned that I have a great deal of respect for you and many others here. My thought was to pass on information that directly pertains to many of the posts I found on that thread. You have no idea how right you all are in feeling betrayed by your government. TheSmokingman wrote that he keeps his children from public schools because of those concerns. I happen to agree with all of the things that were posted there. But, alas, this topic has turned into something else, hasn't it? I'm sorry I offended you, Keenan. I just didn't want it to be a thread about the towers. BTW, I wrote, "The war on terror is a hoax." I also wrote that it was a lie. I'm referring to all the new domestic laws that have come to be. Recently, a five year old boy was detained in a Seattle airport because his name appeared on a no-fly list. His mother couldn't even hold him. Thats wrong. Soon we will have to show papers in order to travel inside our own country, yet the boarders are still open.
  21. Please understand that my comments have NOTHING to do with 9/11! Keenan, your response, I fear, will cause readers to think that I'm against the war on terror, and that pisses me off. Your presumption of my thinking that our being in Iraq is wrong is completely false! Maybe my idea of expessing my opinion was wrong after all. I served in our military for over 9 years. I fought the Iraqi army. I treated wounded soldiers and cared for refugees. I feel we should have defeated them the first time!! Now my son is over there cleaning up my mess!! Shame on you for thinking that, sir. Please just understand that our nation is at great risk. Take the time to research my point.
  22. As long as the federal bank has the ability to create money any form of policy is worthless. Even if you take all power of the federal bank away, but leave it the ability to create our nations money, it will always have the power to buy it back.
