  1. Dear Keenan, My Uncle died in the World Trade Center. He is believed to be one of the jumpers. I lived on 75th and Broadway for over 5 years as a kid. I'm a veteran of the first Gulf war and served in Kuwait. I watched with horror when the towers fell. I voted for George Bush both times. I voted for McCain in the last election. I have 3 friends who have died in Afganistan. The war on terror has nothing to do with those events, Keenan. Your government is using those words to limit your freedom. Our government is slowly using anti-terrorism laws to monitor and track Americans! Not terrorists. That is my point. Don't be fooled. Educate yourself. Just research the RFID chip, which is already being used on products that we buy. Just reasearch the electronic voting systems.
  2. This post is in response to Keenan's topic about change. Ok, this goes against my best judgment, but I'm gonna risk it here. This forum is probably one of the best forums on the net. The quality of people here is very remarkable, and I have a great deal of respect for people like Keenan, The Smokingman, Christopher, Cnubel, Jeff, and many others. Now under most conditions I would think that this forum is no place to post opinions about political or religious issues. These topics usually bring nothing but trouble. But after reading the remarks left by so many of you, I feel like maybe the maturity level of the people here can handle it. These are my own opinions and should be viewed as such. I don't mean to offend. Everyone blamed Bush when he was in office. And now everyone is blaming Obama. When will our people start to learn that our presidents are not the ones in power. President Obama is a puppet on a string. Many elitists have been trying for over a hundred years to institute a new world order. A global government system run by private banking systems like the so called federal bank. These powers are truly above the law. They make our money, did you know that? I'm going to ask all of you who consider yourselves patriots to visit this website. www.trueworldhistory.info PLEASE!!!! Educate yourself! This is not a joke. If you feel like making a change in this country, please consider joining the libertarian political party. People all over the world are counting on Americans to help their pursuit of freedom. This is not a joke... We MUST abolish the federal reserve. If we don't, we will continue to be a slave to corporate influence. There are things that you can do. Do not accept any national ID card!! This is coming very soon. Don't be fooled. You will begin to see our government institute special ID cards in an attempt to fight terrorism. The war on terror is a hoax. It's a lie. I know that all this stuff sounds kinda crazy, but all I ask is that you visit the link I provided and watch the videos for yourself. It's not crazy!! This is not a rant! This is a plea for help....
  3. You should be made to write 50 times, "I will be more responsible with my e-cigarette". Lol, Action from the forum should be swift on such offenses.
  4. I found this today. I'm a big fan of science and space. I thought the way the video made Carl Sagan look like he's was singing was funny. For science geeks only....
  5. Haven't thought about doin' both mods together. To me it seems like the mods would just decrease the volume of the cart. But it might work. I found another mod on youtube. This one involves an inept fella trying to insert a metal screen found on facet taps. This vid gets a little long at an early point, but you pick up the gist fast enough as to not need to watch the whole thing. I haven't tried it but it seems like a good idea......
  6. I understand exactly what you're sayin', ddave. I too am a pretty serious nicoholic. Not only smokes but cigars too, for many years. I'm one of those guys that inhaled cigar smoke the way people inhale cigarettes. And, when I had smoked the cigar too low to keep from burning my nose, I generally chewed on the butt and ate half the thing before I threw it out. I started with 36mg. I tried to cut it so it would last longer and ended up vaping my brains out to catch up on the nicotine. I've managed to trim my intake down quite a bit by vaping, however, in just a few short weeks. I buy the 48mg when I can so that I can cut it down to 36mg or less. I'm down to about 24mg now. 48mg juice with a 50/50 cut. Vaping will help you trim the nicotine more easily than analogs or NRTs will, but unless your having some side-effects, which I doubt, nicotine isn't really that harmful. 40 years of serious smoking, huh? Thats a long time. People should remember that nicotine is a progressive addiction, like heroine. Your body will gradually build up a larger desire for it over time. I smoked for 30 years. You got 10 years on me. I would hate to think where I might be after 10 more years. Probably just as bad...
  7. Any person, whether ex-smoker or non-smoker, that says things like that to someone who is trying to help themselves and their family is clearly speaking without thinking. It's like criticizing a fat man for the way in which he is successfully loosing weight. Or even telling a drug or alcohol addict who is succeeding in their sobriety is failing due to the method that is keeping them from abuse. Ridiculous, immature, and very weak.
  8. Aww. I'm so proud of you guys. Can you feel the love in this room right now? I know I can. C'mon...group hug. Giggity...
  9. Thats a very interesting point, as well. I too have that problem in the morning. However, I think frequent oral care, like gargling, does help this problem somewhat.
  10. I've noticed something on the forums here lately. Several posts have mentioned coughing while vaping. jmHester wrote a topic about his wife not liking to vape because it made her cough. Keenan said the same thing. I'm mainly talking about beginners who have never vaped before coughing when trying to even take a short drag. I remember getting my first e-cig. It was a super mini that looked exactly like an analog. I thought that was what I needed. I remember that first draw making me cough quit a bit. I immediately started compensating for that cough by exhaling briefly before I inhaled. You know what I mean? I see a lot of vapers do it on youtube vids all the time. They like to open their mouths and let a little out before inhaling. It wasn't until just recently that I got to the point where I could without exhaling a little first. Am I just an idiot or are there others out there that know what I'm sayin'? I've since introduced vaping to people, and I frequently let them try it, and I see that cough almost every time. My liquid is 26mg or more, but even so. I try to tell people that it's different from smoking. You have draw on it longer and slower, but I wonder if I should teach them the "vapers exhale". Opinions?
  11. Just an update on this mod after using it exclusively for awhile. I have noticed that there really must be a fine line on how much filler/batting to use. Maybe I haven't found the right amount yet, but it just seems that i still get that dry taste before the cart is actually dry of liquid. At first I compensated for this by adding a few drops right on the batting when this happened. I quickly noticed that it proved to be not much better than direct dripping. I was pulling my cart off and reaching for juice almost as much as direct dripping. I have to say that the taste I get from the cart is much better than dripping. I don't know why but the taste just seems fuller than when I drip. I went back to youtube and found the straw mod done by TGWTF, Moobieghost. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6xVMMuTxhM This mod is similar and works as well, but still doesn't fix the problem perfectly. Others may have better results and don't have that drying out issue but if you do I have a suggestion that at least doesn't have me reaching for the juice as much. When I get that burn taste I take off my cart, and with my tweezers I just grab the filler and raise it out of the cart a a little bit, not all the way out, then push it back in. This soaks the filler again really fast and I put the cart back on. I may have to do this about 3-4 times before I actually have to refill the cart with juice. By doing it this way, I can prefill 4-5 carts and go pretty much all work day without needing my juice bottle. You still have to carry tweezers, or something to tug on the filler every once in a while, but the cart certainly lasts longer and your not bothered by the bottles....
  12. Every word is true, lol. When we heard the news about 9/11, our local sheriff formed a possy. The passenger gate at our local airport is an actual gate. My girl friend's mother a 66 years old Wyoming native, and she's never met a black man.
  13. It's not like any of us actually NEED that stuff. Uhmm, I'm good on that...
  14. Reading these posts is very enlightening. The way you all have described your experiences with trying analogs after vaping for awhile, almost mirror each other. I have really been wondering what a coffin nail might taste like. It's been over 20 days since I quit. This thanksgiving, when I go to the family dinner, I'm gonna borrow a smoke to try it out. Even though I haven't had the usual undying need for a smoke, I must admit there were a couple of times (only a couple, tho) where I thought about an analog. However, I haven't acted on it yet. I think that experiencing that nasty taste will answer my questions for good, and will remain a reminder and a negative re-enforcement technique.
  15. Great posts.. I think we all need to remember that we aren't smoking any longer. Regardless of whether people understand these HUGE benefits or not, we know that what we're doing can hardly even be likened to analogs. We vapers should start approaching this topic from the knowledge that it IS safe, not just "safer". What do you think the success rate of quiting analogs with the personal vaporizer is, compared to other forms of NRTs? I personally feel that the popularity of the e-cig will, and has been, growing exponentially. I think it can be compared to the cell phone and it's predecessor...
  16. Yep, I agree. I'll never get a standard 510 bat again, I think. The mega is 280.
  17. Well, it was workin' after I loaded it up, but time may tell, dunno. I tell EVERYONE I speak to about these to that it's not like smoking an analog. "You gotta do it different". And I tell everyone to watch youtube vids before buying anything. I will recommend VT and all our suppliers if I get the chance, as well. Hey, jmhester, I'm just like Keenan with the strength of nic I'm using, but more like nana in my motivation. Your use of nic though does sound very interesting to me. I think I might try this approach. I'm new to all this still, and haven't yet built my arsenal of juices, but the learning curve here at VT is pretty steep!
  18. Lol, this turned into a pretty good thread. Thank you Schizo. I truly wish I would have had that frame of thought while talking with that guy. Of coarse, your perfectly correct, and I should have thought about it like that. And, if he can't believe me, then I can always use Chris' argument, being just as correct. I guess I did get to , in the end, by taking a large percentage of his chips that night. During those next 4 hours at the table I had mentioned several times to all the players that without the e-cig, I would have to take frequent smoking breaks outside, like the other smokers. A fact that poker players like. But when I mentioned the cost benefit, all the smokers went But, like what the Realtor spoke of, I also got a look from others like I actually haven't quit anything, which bothered me too. And when I mention that I haven't had an analog in over 20 days, people seem as if they don't really believe me or something. Not because of the product we're talkin' about, but because I think that non-smokers sometimes have this perception that your probably lying, or something. Like my willpower is in question. They don't say it, but just look Hey, I've been sayin' all along that if these tree-huggin' duck-squezzers don't stop messin' with my nicotine addiction, there's gonna be a hate crime. Oh, and Chris. You suggested that I use the argument that a guy can buy e-cigs in the mall, but that they are much cheaper to purchase on the net, in the event when I may be talking to someone leery of buying on line. Um, we don't HAVE malls, bud. I live in WYOMING, remember? We have our own gene pool up here. I mean, we're still on the freakin' barter system! We had a parade in town last month to celebrate our newest traffic light. This is where the stage coach route ends. If your recently canceled balloon ride would have brought you over Wyoming, the locals would have shot at you for fear that you might be taking their herds. The fastest moving entity around here is the mail. Neon signs were outlawed here in 1956 because they spook the horses. A high school diploma is considered higher education. I removed a jelly bean from a father's ear yesterday after he got it stuck while showing his son how it can get stuck! It's not hard to sneak up on these folks, if you know what I mean.....
  19. WHAT ABOUT REALLY LONG POSTS WITH AN OVERWHELMING AMOUT OF POORLY CONCEIVED AND FRUSTING ADJECTIVES, AN OVER-USE OF OF COMMAS, AND RIDICULOUSLY LONG RUN-ON SENTENCES DESCRIBING THINGS THAT HAVE PROBABLY ALREADY BEEN POSTED BY SOME OTHER TROLL WHO APPEARS LIKE HE SPENT WAY TOO LONG IN CREATIVE WRITING CLASSES TRYING TO PICK UP SINGLE DIVORCED MOTHERS WITH A LOW SELF-ESTEEM ISSUE AND NICE BOOBS?
  20. You just described my entire collection so far too, Vari, except I have 3 attys. Maybe we can start like a charity collection where rich, snotty vapers pass down their junk to us pitiful wanna-bes who are just starting out and strapped for cash. It could be like a dollar store. (and I apologize about the snotty thing. Most snotty people don't vape.)
  21. Hey nana, I think I might know what you're referring to. Did you happen to come across a youtube vid done by a young lady with dark hair reviewing this 510? If so I saw the same one. She did say that it was a knockoff. I think she even described the atomizer and it is different than OEM. She gave it a good review and that black light is pretty cool. I don't know about this knockoff. Sounds like Chris knows tho. IF you choose to bet it, tell me what you think of it. Maybe just get the batt if you can. DIdn't she say where she got it? If you didn't see the vid, it should be on youtube...
  22. Ok, ok, lol, let's just all settle down, here, lol. It has to be only trace amounts. You only absorb a fraction of what you inhale, even with analogs, right? For a baby in a car, it might not be a good idea. I'm not gonna go there, but I can't believe it's of any great consequence. Hey Chris, by your response should we assume that this issue has been written about before? DO you know much about this?
  23. I love my mega. Works great. But my next will be the spade....
