That's really great for you. Congratulations. I still get a surprising unexpected urge when I just happen to glance at the display at someplace like 7-11 .... all those pretty packs lined up behind the register. Then I just vape a couple of hits and all is fine. And 30 days is really a milestone. I remember well. And the health effects just keep getting better and better in baby steps, but suddenly you notice things like just running up a few flights of stairs and not being the least winded. It's great!

John Denver wrote this in 1966 but PP&M made it famous first

    All my tanks are packed
    I'm ready to go
I'm vapin' here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
    But the dawn is breakin'
    It's early morn
    The taxi's waitin'
    He's blowin' his horn
    My battery's so low
    That it could die

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me you have my USB
Back ups are what I need before I go
'Cause I'm vapin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I can charge again
    Oh babe, I love Ego

There's so many times my vape's run down
600 mah just makes me frown
My Ego's flashing, babe I tell you now
Ev'ry place I go, I'll think of you
Ev'ry vape I take, I'll vape for you
I'll bring your charger back I do vow

So kiss me and smile for me
    Lend me 'least your USB
Gotta charge my Ego on the go
'Cause I'm vapin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I can charge again
    Oh babe, I Love Ego

But, I'm vapin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

I smoked a few packs after I started vaping for maybe a month before I made up my mind no more cigs. Don't beat yourself up about it because from what I've read here a lot of people did it like this also. For me, as long as I knew the cigs were in that drawer I wanted one. I would finish up a pack, vape for 3 or 4 days and then go buy another pack and did this several times before I finally decided no more. I just finally said to myself, "self, that's it." And that worked. As long as they were where I could get to one i 'thought' I wanted one, even though when I was smoking one I was wondering why in the world did I want this? Yuck!
So it's been 6 weeks since then and I don't miss it one bit and I'm so glad. I was never a heavy or long term smoker and I was still amazed at how much it had a hold on me. I never realized the addiction, or the 'attachment' could be so strong. I couldn't have done it without reading this forum for my motivation and vaping made it easy for me once my mind was made up.

I didn't touch the davide. It does just fine on it's own. (I'm buying more of these, 2ml or not)

The smallest bit I could find on a quick trip to the hardware store was a 1/16th (.062). The original air holes in the protank appear to be roughly 1/32.

I drilled out 2 of the three holes and it was probably a little too much. Using rough math, a hole twice as large gives 4Xs the airflow so as it turns out. Drilling 1 hole out to 1/16 was enough to give better performance and is about right. Drilling 2 was not a deal breaker bit probably too much and more than necessary.

I drilled out 1 hole on the evod and it wasn't quite enough so I drilled out 2 it was a good improvement.

The result: drilling out the protank and the evod greatly improved both vapor and flavor production.

However, they still do not meet the Davide as equal. I suspect there are a couple of other factors:

    1. The evod is plastic - enough said. Plastic tanks just don't measure up to glass

    2. I suspect fine tuning is necessary based on coil resistance and voltage ( an argument for airflow control). Either engineered hole size or more simply airflow control base.

    3. Design: there are other design differences in the tanks - capacity, length of chimney, diameter of chimney, inherent restiance in body and base etc...

Conclusion - much can be improved by adjusting airflow, either by drilling out holes or using airflow control in combination with voltage and resistance but NOTHING BEATS A GOOD DESIGN!

I am with y'all. I tried all forms of tobacco. I kept on smoking. Chantix worked for a while, but I got to a point were the cigarettes were the only thing that would calm my brain. Now that I am vaping, I don't have cravings nearly as often, and when I do, a few puffs on the vape and they pass.

I am seeing I go for much longer periods without vaping than I did smoking, and if we have to run an errand down the street, or short trips (a few hours), I don't even bring my MVP with me. The same trip would have had anywhere from 2-4 cigarettes. Business meetings are much less tedious, also.

One problem I have found is that I normally took the trash out when I smoked (I didn't smoke in the house). I don't go outside as much, therefore the trash doesn't get taken out as often. My wife has informed me that this is unacceptable and must be changed...

Earthling, I 100 % agree. Just think if there weren't other addictive properties to tobacco products we could have all quit with a patch and fake cigarette for the hand to mouth easily. Frankly, the patch did nothing, I repeat NOTHING for me. The gum too. If it were nicotine to blame those patches would work fine as a quitting method. That's why it makes me crazy that the ilk of FDA'rs keep the myth alive that nicotine replacement therapy will succeed. Such BS. They went on a huge crusade to convince us that nicotine was the bad guy and that big tobacco was covering this up. How bloody stupid. From my now recently discovered concept that no matter how paranoid I was about keeping my vape going because of how I used to feel about smoking that it really isn't even noticeable that I'm missing the nic if something else interesting is going on. Nicotine is nothing more that like a caffeine buzz. The rest of the stuff in tobacco was what should have been discussed. Those fools should have required big tobacco to disclose ingredients like all other consumables. Warnings and dead baby pics don't do anything to curb smoking, but disclosure sure could've helped. This is awesome because I now just might live long enough to get the point across! YAY!

Personally, I don't see how anybody could do an analog after vaping. For me it was 'instant switch' for good. Started at 24mg, now down to 6. I still have my last unopened pack bought July 2, 2013. I still look at it occasionally just to bring out an 'ugh'. IMO they have no taste and stink. Plus I've probably netted $1400 in savings so far. The only drawback I have is that I vape more than I smoked. But I guess that's because I can do it ANYWHERE.........no stink.

And IMO, if you think you can 'gradually' switch.......forget it.

When you start vaping, a rare few of us can make the change to vaping on day one and not look back... but it is a rare few Several members here have admitted to hanging onto that last pack (or carton) for weeks, months, even years after vaping... just in case... There's nothing wrong with slipping back to an analog, seriously! But each time you do, you'll find they are less appealing than you remember. They'll taste worse, smell worse, and make you feel ill... and the longer you can go without them, the more pronounced the effect will be.

Bebop is spot-on... Nicotine is only one of 4000+ chemicals you are/were addicted to, on top of the hand-to-mouth action and smell of the smoke! Vaping is a good way to quit, but you have to rid yourself of all the other toxins by sticking with vaping. Flavor, nicotine, vapor, and hand-to-mouth action will help you with those cravings you have, but don't beat yourself up if you slip and have a smoke while you're training your body and mind to accept a (healthier) alternative. The cigarette police won't come and kick down your door... unless of course you live in NYC or LA

I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice this. During the day (working), I hit my MOD or APV fairly regularly, but when I'm working on a vehicle, mowing grass, or spending the day with the kids, I rarely think "where's my vape?", lol, and when I do, I realize I can live without it for another hour or so Last Saturday, the kids had me so busy that I barely vaped half of a 1.5ml KPT3 mini... ALL DAY! If I were still smoking, I would have ripped through at least a pack

I fully agree... big tobacco has spent the past century figuring out how to increase the addictive properties of analogs to keep you buying their products! Analogs, unlike other "addictive products" do not only affect those with addictive personalities... so the manufacturers had to MAKE them addictive, to keep you buying them!

In my previous post I mentioned that I was a judge at a story telling contest. The venue is on the top floor of a building with no lift. there are quite a few levels of stairs and once inside the venue you are basically in that room without escape. Of course one can go out but it's not very polite and you are rather expected to stay for the duration. That can be 3 to 4 hours. I've not done this contest for about 3 years so I was so pleasantly surprised. The last time I did it no matter how hard I tried to concentrate on my duties, my mind kept saying, "how can I go sneak a smoke"? like every 5 seconds. This time, I couldn't believe it was happening that I really didn't think about missing my vape. I was really concentrating on critiquing the kid's stories. I only thought about vaping when I had to put my hand in my pocket for a pen or something and felt my mods. Even then I was able to go right back to what I was doing with only a minor craving for the vape. I was so amazed! I think this was the first time I've been in a closed venue since I started vaping. I've always been so paranoid about not having equipment failure without even waiting to see if a craving happened. In my mind this goes to support the argument that all those other chemicals in tobacco smoke are at least as responsible for tobacco addiction as nicotine.

I also mentioned that I went to a pub with friends after the contest and saw a lady with a very cool PV that I didn't get to find out about. But I didn't mention one of the greatest moments of that little session. I was leaving and had to pass a stand of trees where some of the staff from the pub were having a smoke break. One of the guys had a very cool 1960's Michael Jackson afro and wasn't smoking but vaping an eGo twist. I had to stop and comment. I told him he looked so cool, retro and modern at the same time. He said afros are coming back. Made me feel so young again for just a moment. (SIGH)

People like to talk with other vapers because for a lot of us, it is becoming a hobby more than a habit. nobody says "oh hey I see you are smoking camel menthols, have you tried the camel menthol silvers?" nobody smokes because they want to.... at least not after a few years of it

I admit it. I'm posting this just to raise the score so I can go to the VIP lounge to see what it's all about. But this being the General e Cig Discussion, I guess it's necessary to say something about e Cigs.

There once was a smoker, a joker
Whose smoking was making him broker.
He said, " I'll jump in
    And just start vapin'
And only lose money at poker".

But he started wining at poker
And said, "Now I'm not broker

Such an awesome little subculture. Used to be vaping gear was almost non existent in stores outside of the Internet, now we've got cheapies in every convenience store and vapor bars popping up like crazy. Lately people who seem like they've never smoked in their life even seem to finally understand that im not blatantly burning plant matter when vaping indoors.
    The revolution has come[emoji100]
