I can attest to the fact that the 801 atty is great on a VP2 unit but the 801 batteries suck!

My Tecc Discount Code Isn't Working! Anybody?
TheSmokingMan replied to fatalis's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I found this online a few weeks ago, don't know how accurate it is. http://vapezone.com/blog.php?bt=2 -
I can surely see Chris' point. I have preached to my family for years about the dangers of too much salt intake and and eating crap, all done with a cigarette dangling out of my mouth, it's no wonder my kids don't listen to me.

Hear, Hear! I'll drink to that! Cheers!

What Made You Give Up Analogs?
TheSmokingMan replied to jmhester's topic in General Vaping Discussion
For me it was when my grandson was born back in January of this year, that I decided that I needed to quit smoking cigarettes and go back to the pipe full time. So I called my supplier and had 5 pounds of my favorite pipe tobacco delivered. Trying to make the transition I found that the cigarettes had a tighter grip on me than the last few times I had quit over the years. After this last tax hike, cigarettes here in Texas were at 5.50 per pack. Still wanting to quit, but gripped by a 2.5 pack a day addiction I heard an advertisement on the radio (Dave Ramsey Show or Glen Beck) for Smoke Assassin. I started looking on the Internet at e-Cigs, ended up here and the rest is a month of history. I haven't had a cigarette in a week, since I started vaping I have only smoked a pack of analogues. What chapps my hinie is that e-Cigs have been on the market since 2001 and it took me 8 years to find them! -
Hey JM, funny that you should ask this question. But now that you have your VP2, I guess it's a moot point. I ordered a a 901 adapter with my VP2 which has a 801 fitting. I took the adapter and screwed it on a 801 battery and then screwed the 901 atty on the adapter. It should have worked, right? Wrong! The flat center contact (that has the hole in it) on the 801 battery doesn't come up far enough to make contact with the adapter. The adapter is made for the VP2 only, is my guess. I would figure that Janty did the same thing.

What is it that makes you say that? Have you heard of something coming down the pipe or is that your analysis from the past and other products? I personally think that the reason e-Cigs are overpriced in the retail locations is because the people selling them (store owners and managers) are just ignorant as to what it is and how much information there is on-line about it. They don't carry replacement parts or refills because they actually believe the advertisements and the wholesale salesman's claims that say the carts in the package are equal to a carton of analogues. Truck stops don't rely too much on repeat business from day to day as most of their patrons are just passing through and won't return back that way for maybe months or a year. The mall kiosks will be folded up and gone by the time you return for extras and they have a high rent to pay to the mall for the space. The tobacco shops don't really want to carry this product because it could eventually cut into their main products of tobaccos and cigars and they think that it is a passing fad. Therefore, they don't take the time to look into the rising popularity of the product. If a person or establishment is serious about selling a product they are going to find out as much as they can about that product so they can better market it and service their return customers and build a customer base. Like Arno at AwesomeVapor, Parked at dietSMOKES, VaporKings and you guys here at Vapor Talk. Y'all have done the research, made efforts to change the design of various models to the manufacture, have actively helped knock down legislation against the product that y'all so heartily believe in. You guys are in on a ground floor opportunity and you know it and by building a good reputation you will always have a good customer base and return business. The retail locations haven't been convicted about this product yet and will not get very much of the market share until they are sold on this product. Besides all that, they're just greedy!

I'm in Houston, tomorrow they are calling for a nice cool 92 degrees. I just spent a week in Missery (Missouri) I like to have froze to death, it got all the way down to 42 degrees the first night we were there. I took my heavy winter coat because the 55 degree days like to have killed me. Any colder than that is just nuts. I don't understand why the north is not just a winter wasteland, I don't see how people function up there.

That is great advise Fenwick. I have a Titan 510 and I wasn't impressed with it. I don't use it anymore, I have become rather fond of the DSE901 and I direct drip. I have found that the direct method is much simpler, no refilling carts, no burning fibers and without a cart in the chamber there is more room for heat dissipation and for the vapor to flow. If I drip 3 drops onto the atomizer it usually doesn't leak and it is the equivalent to about 2 analogue cigarettes and then I can put it down for a while and get some work done. Abandon the carts, direct dripping is the way to go!

Starting The Wife On Vaping Today
TheSmokingMan replied to jmhester's topic in General Vaping Discussion
My wife also has said noting about the expenditures on e-Cigs and accessories, but man is she happy I don't smoke anymore. We just spent six days on the road in a car together and there was nary a cross word between us the entire time. It's all because she didn't have to breathe my smoke and make those faces and roll all four windows down and piss me off. I have to say it was the best time I have spent with her since we were married. -
Unflavored Nicotine Juice

Be careful EasyE, we Constitutionalists and Conservatives have to remember that this is a public site based out of California. We need to keep quiet about somethings, and don't go upsetting or offending the "wussy liberals". In other words speak softly and carry a big stick assault rifle -
Well, JM what do you have to say now? That's waht I thought. Better go with the VP1, custom4life you'll like it much better than anything else, I do!

The "anti's" Push Towards Big Pharma
TheSmokingMan replied to chrisahx's topic in General Vaping Discussion
That is an interesting slant on what's happening. Someone created kaos where none existed before and is using it as an excuse to control. -
I just put a brand new 901 atty on my VP2, I got a shipment from AwesomeVapor today. The 901 atty vapes just as good as the 801 on the VP2 unit. I hope someone doesn't call the fire department because of the smoke. I'd have to hit them with my VP2 and man would that hurt, this thing is like a baseball bat!

Starting The Wife On Vaping Today
TheSmokingMan replied to jmhester's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Sounds to me like you have already found a good way. One thing that I know from experience, with any addiction such as drinking, eating or smoking. The person who has the problem will generally resist change if it is done in a forceful way, like slander, insults or threats. If you make little hints and say things that make the other person think about their problem and decide on their own to do something about it. Rather than it be your idea, sometimes you have to make them think that it's their idea. My wife used to complain all of the time about my smoking in the house and in the bedroom. When I'd light up after she was asleep, she would wake up and move to the spare bedroom. Being the A$$ I am, I let her know in no uncertain terms that this is my house and I pay the bills and I'll smoke in the house, when and where I feel like it. Well, I was wrong to have that attitude with my wife, I'm supposed to love her not make her life miserable, I promised this to her before God. It is human nature for a man (and some hard headed women) to think they are in the right, even when shown that they are wrong. I have been guilty of trying to cut off my nose to spite my face. But if someone is sly about it and can make me come to the right conclusion on my own, then things can work out better for everyone. When you wife sees how much better you feel and how much money you are saving and realizes that her smoking is not doing you any good in your effort to stop, then she'll come around. You might want to have one of those tender little talks where you explain that you are trying to stop smoking so that you can be around to take care of her in the future, and the kids and the grandkids. Tell her that you worry about her future and if she'll be there for you and the kids and the grandkids. But by all means don't be an A$$ like I was and decree that she stop, because she'll just do it when you not around just to spite you, or in front of you for that matter. If that happens then you get into all of the "trust" bull crap and believe me you don't want to go there. But like I said, sounds like your doing really well in convincing her, she is not smoking in the house anymore. One thing about this e-Cig thing for me is its a toy for me, trying to find the perfect unit to provide me with the perfect vape and all of the flavors. I've been vaping since September 17th, and I don't even miss the flavor of analogue cigarettes, I've even stopped smoking that one every few days to see if anythings changed, I'm done with them and won't look back. If you find that she is having problems making the switch, give her subtle encouragement and do little nice things for her to let her know your thinking about her, they like that junk and a little of it sure goes a long way. -
I know where your coming from, Started using mine yesterday and man what a ride, this thing vapes like a steam locomotive and is built like one too. A brick ****house ain't got noting on this baby! My 901's came in from Arno today so I'm going to try one of these attys on this thing in a few minutes.

Whats Happening To Everyones Dogs?
TheSmokingMan replied to 618bdown's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
There is not much that leaves me speechless. If you think that I write a lot, you don't want to get me on the phone. When I was a pup of 20, I went to work for a Radio and Television production studio, they bought a radio station and by 21 I was "On The Air". I always had support via another person in the studio to talk to or someone on the phone to interreact with. One day I found myself flung into the drivers seat on the morning show, alone! It was the worst show I had ever done, I couldn't think of anything to say except read trivia about the last song. Needless to say I didn't remain in that spot for long. The next day the Station Manager did the show and put me back from 9 to 12 doing "TRADIO" where I belonged. Then I had "Miller Time" from 5 to 8 sponsored by, you guessed it, Dr. Pepper! It was "Miller Time" because I used the air name of "Chris Miller", what'd ya expect it was Elk City, Oklahoma in 1989! Those were the days, thank God they're over. -
Guys I had a blast, we were supposed to leave that morning, so I told my wife I was doing something important in the office and delayed our trip just to see what was going on. Thanks for the e-Juice. You guys are the best, and if Sean needs help with that bassackwards camera again just let me know.
-
Chris, you must be being coy with this post. I have never asked you directly, but I gather from your other posts that you prefer the 801 atomizer on a VP2 unit above all others. I know that you try to remain neutral when it comes to e-Juice, primarily because you market your own but you don't sell e-Cigs and you and Sean review them regularly. What is your favorite atty and battery (that fit together)? I am loving the monster vapor and excellent flavor from my broke in DSE801 atty and my new VP2 battery unit.
-
This is funny, reading these posts I think sometime we sound like a bunch of kids, smoking for the first time. I guess for all of us we are so proud that we have made a change for the better we have to let someone else know. I really appreciate Chris and Sean for providing this forum where we can gather like kids on a playground and tell our tales of vaping and other stuff. Thanks guys!

I have had two attys die on me. They just didn't vape anymore, they burnt out like a light bulb, blink, then nothing.

Article: Douchebag Gear: Electronic Cigarettes
TheSmokingMan replied to Sky's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Well, that's an unregulated internet for you, I can take that idiot's bull ****e, can you? There is no argument for that kind of nonsense because anybody with a lick of intelligence can see him for the fool he is. -
I'm certianly not afraid of the damned thing, I just could n't get the hang of it with the small 510. But with this VP2 unit, it could have a stick shift and a crank for a starter on it and that would be fine with me, this thing is great!

I have been direct dripping since day one by Chris' advice (not directly but via his videos). I have to agree with Chris on this one, just vape it down to hardly any vapor production and then drip you new flavor. I have never vaped menthol, don't really want to give it a try, menthol is not my thing. But I have vaped other strong flavors and they will vape out of the atty if you vape it almost fry then add a few drops of the new on top of it. There is no need to clean it out, just ride out the last flavor. As for how long do carts last, I have been vaping the dummy cart that came with my 801 and 901 for a month. They do get kind of loose after a lot of use and when the atty is cold, but when you get it going they tighten up. I guess they expend a little with the heat. The dummy carts don't have the receptacle for the poly-fill, so mine don't ever turn brown.

That's pretty good. I've lost two 901 attys to defective batteries or dripped in batteries, one of the two. I have a 4081 that has been going strong for almost a month and an 801 that is kick'in in my VP2 as we speak. It's been around for almost a month also, but only 8 hours in the VP2. This VP2 ride kicks A$$!
