Starting The Wife On Vaping Today
TheSmokingMan replied to jmhester's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Hey, what's that supposed to mean? -
All of the e-Juices that I have tried have been sweet. I contribute that to the Propylene Glycol. PG has a sweet taste. I have never vaped Vegetable Glycerin, but I wouldn't think that it would have too much of a sweet taste like PG. Most of the e-Juice suppliers out there stock and market PG juices but there are some that have VG flavors. Making the switch from analogue cigarettes to vaping requires a different outlook on the flavor. You really can't compare the tobacco tastes to the PG tastes, they are a totally different set of tastes. Now that I have vaped awhile, I have come to appreciate several of the e-Juice flavors, but I had to throw out all of my opinions about tobacco flavors and come up with a new scale to judge them by.

I'm one of those people that went nuts the first week, I'm glad I did though, I'm a lot more wiser to e-Cigs now than before. I'm kind of embarrassed to tell how much I've spent and all of the things that I bought that I'll probably never use.

Welcome to the VaporTalk Forum, we're glad your here. When I started vaping all of the juice from one supplier tasted the same except for the dramatically unique flavors like coffee and banana. I have noticed that after a month of not smoking analogues and only vaping, my tastes have greatly improved and I can discern one flavor from another. I have noticed that the juice from Johnson Creek has a very subtle flavor and not much vapor. If you are using this brand of e-Juice then you might want to try another brand like the VaporTalk Juice or the e-Juice at AwesomeVapor.com, Liquid Express is good also and so is Parked's e-Juice, available at dietSMOKES.com. Hope this helps.

I was wondering where you've been the past few days. Our trip to Missouri las week was messed up to in the e-Cig department, but I didn't resort to analogues. When we left all I had was an 801 and one battery and a 4081 with two batteries. I made it there and back in six days with out any problems, I just had to pace myself and keep something on a charger all the time. When I got home my problems were solved, my back-ups from AwesomeVapor had arrived and so did my VP2's from VaprLife. Now I could take a trip around the world and not miss a lick drip!

As with any new product, the kinks have to be worked out and the cream (suppliers and manufacturers) have to be given time to rise to the top. Heck, Ford still hasn't got "cruse control" down yet, they are still burning down peoples houses with that thing! Just look at the recent innovation that Jeso has come up with regarding his VP units and the new pass-thru he is working on. AwesomeVapor.com is kicking A$$ in customer service and providing a great product at a reasonable price and Chris and Sean have the VaporTalk Juice, a clearly superior product over Johnson Creek and most of the other stuff out of China. I think that over time we will see more and more new and good ideas come out of this market and it's a word of mouth thing rather than who can put the most money into advertising.

Hi, Niki and welcome to VaporTalk. As you have already experienced, there are a lot of members here that want to help. I have not had any experience with the model that you have purchased, but it seems to me that you may have a bad product. I would try to return it for a refund and purchase a product that has a better reputation. When I became interested in e-Cigs I did a lot of research, watched every video I could find on the different products out there and spent a lot of time reading these topics at VaporTalk. I settled on the DSE901 and the DSE801 from AwesomeVapor.com. They are very reasonably priced and the people over there have a great reputation. In my dealings with them, I find that they truly want to help you become a success in your endeavor of quitting smoking analogue cigarettes. I also want to encourage you not to give up. I smoked analogues since I was 6 years old and was up to a pack a day since 16 years old. I am now 41 and have tried everything on the market including hypnotism to quit and nothing has worked for me except the e-Cig. I am done with analogue cigarettes and will never return to that lifestyle, I owe this to Chris and Sean, the members of VaporTalk and Arno and Amanda at AwesomeVapor.com. The models that I have had have given me the vapor production like to guys in the videos right out of the box. You can expect diminishing returns as the battery gets used and needs to be recharged. Hopefully you will find a unit that will work for you and your Dad. You might even want to look at the VP units at VaprLife.com. I have two of the VP2 units and they vape strong for 8-9 hours on a single battery. They are all I currently use now.

I wonder how that happened?

Peeps With The Pcc/ppc 510 ...
TheSmokingMan replied to elem187's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I purchased a Titan 510 and a PCC from Totally Wicked, I ended up giving it to one of my employees that wanted to try an e-Cig. I used the PCC for several days before I decided that I didn't like the 510. It took about three hours to charge the PCC and then two hours to charge a battery in the PCC, I could get about three batteries to charge in the PCC before it needed to be recharged. When I first had the PCC, I was confused about the lights on the front of the unit and what they indicated. The manual was not real clear as to what their function and meaning was. I thought that I might have a defective unit so I emailed Totally Wicked about the issue. They sent me a reply that said that they had had a lot of problems with the PCC and I could return it for exchange. By the time they replied to my initial question I had figured out the unit and it was working correctly so I didn't return it. My point here is your PCC seems to be working as mine was and I think that is the most that you'll get out of it. Also, there was or is an issue with some PCCs out there according the the email I received from Totally Wicked. I would like to share a point of my experience with you. I am, by far, no expert when it comes to e-Cigs. But I have spent quite a lot of money on them and this is my current position concerning all of the peripherals. Get a VP unit and abandon the pass-throughs and extra batteries. I have a VP2, I can vape on it for 8-9 hours before I have to change the battery. When I leave the house in the morning I have my VP2 with an 801 atty attached, I carry the small case that came with it for batteries. In that case I put an extra 801 atty, an extra battery (just in case) and a 3ml bottle of e-Juice that I will vape that day. That's it, no car chargers, no pass throughs no PCCs and certainly not 14 batteries to get me thru the work day. Simple! If you think that the VP2 is too big then look at the VP1, the batteries in that unit are supposed to last 4-5 hours and if it is on par with the VP2, it would also be an excellent unit. -
That's understandable, like Chuck Berry said, "Live like you want to live, baby". Everyone is going to have their personal preference as to how they like things and I'm fine with that. If you are still having problems locating the right cart for your e-Cig, then I would suggest that you take a picture of your e-Cig and post it here on the forum and maybe someone will recognize it and can help you with the right carts and possibly more flavors of pre-loaded carts.

What Made You Give Up Analogs?

What Made You Give Up Analogs?
TheSmokingMan replied to jmhester's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Speaking of the stench, I have not smoked an analogue in several weeks. In the past month I have only smoked a pack. Friday afternoon, I met one of my employees to give him his paycheck. He lumbered up to my truck with a cigarette and the wind caught the smoke and blew it right into my face, I like to have hurled. Is that what I used to smell like? Seems that I owe a lot of non-smokers that I have smoked around all of these years a major apology. Why is that scary? We have lived in our current location for the past 5 years and I have less than 10 people who know where we live. We are very private people and enjoy our peace and quiet here in the woods. -
That is my question also, what about the flavor when cutting e-Juice. It stands to reason that if you cut it with PG that the flavor will be reduced. I have 5 bottles of 36mg from Arno that I only use for an hour in the morning to get going. At this rate those 5 bottles will last me a year or so. I have found that the high nicotine all day keeps me awake at night. I am in the process of reducing the nicotine strengths of the e-Juice that I vape during the day and in the evenings. Currently I start off in the morning with the 36 for the first hour and then cut down to the 18mg during the day. I have quite a lot of the 24mg also which I will step down to in the mornings and go with something lighter in the day like 10 or 12mg if I can find some of that. If it's not available I will have to cut it, but I don't want to lose flavor, that is the best part of vaping is the flavor! Maybe if Chris and Sean could come out with some non-nicotine juice, I could cut it with that, hint, hint!

That's weird, nicotine is a stimulant, like caffeine. It generally keeps one up rather than putting them to sleep. Alcohol on the other hand is a depressant, that generally puts people to sleep.
-
Probably just Frank Morgan behind the curtain. I used a product similar to Aeros in the mid eighties. They produced no visible vapor and we used them in class without the Teacher knowing what we were doing, we took off the filter looking sticker on the end and it looked like a short pen. I think that drawn air passes thru a "filter" impregnated with nicotine and flavor and you simply inhale the fumes from it.

What Is Everyones Opinion On A Second Kit?
TheSmokingMan replied to elem187's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I have heard the term "Low Bridge" atty used several times also. I often wondered what it was in reference to. I am not sure, but I thing that on units like the 510, the 801 and the 901 the heating element/filament and screen are located down inside the tube of the atty where as on a "High Bridge" the heater and screen stick out of the top of the tube and can be touched as there are no sides to contain it. -
Mistaken For Drug Paraphernalia?
TheSmokingMan replied to jmhester's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I touched on the drug paraphernalia thing in another post. Not that I have had any experience as of late with illegal narcotics, I do have children and I try to keep abreast of what is what in case something is staring me in the face and I don't know it. An e-Cig functions much in the same manner as a crack pipe, although I would think that it would be much more inefficient than the antenna tube/Brillo pad configurations that I have seen. I can't see how you would get the rock below the screen around the heater to get it to vaporize. I direct drip my e-Juice into my e-Cig, quite often I do this at stop lights and wonder what, if anyone seeing me do this, is thinking. I pulled up to a traffic light next to a cop this afternoon and I was vaping my VP2 with an 801 atty. The cop was looking at me, but he didn't act suspicious nor did he make any effort to investigate what it was that I was doing. E-Cigs are not too common here and I only know of one other person that vapes and I have never seen anyone else vaping anywhere that I have been. All that to say, I'm pretty certain that the cop hadn't seen an e-Cig before, but he didn't make a drug connection as he sat looking at me. I have two different approaches when explaining my e-Cig in public places. Depending on the attitude of the person raising the question of what it is that I am doing. If the person seems bent on putting me in my place or if they act defensive or authoritative when I've been spotted vaping, for example "What do you think your doing? You can't smoke in here!" Then I tell them that I am not smoking, there is no fire or flame and I'll touch the end of the e-Cig and thump it to show that it's not a cigarette. I don't generally smoke the e-Cigs that look like cigarettes just to avoid any confusion or misconception of it being a cigarette. I explain that it is an alternative nicotine delivery system used in lieu of smoking cigarettes and that the "smoke" that they see is nothing more than water vapor and it contains no tobacco and is totally harmless. I was in Wal-Mart (no "s") a few weeks ago and one of the employees who was working with a crew, restocking shelves. He seemed like the "crew leader". I was vaping a black DSE901 with a blue light on the end. He saw me exhale and saw the vapor rise, he forcefully threw down the box he had in his hand and shouted at me "HEY!, YOU CAN'T SMOKE IN HERE!" and came running over to my wife and I, like he was going to kick my A$$. Wanting to diffuse the situation, I calmly said "I'm not smoking, this is not a cigarette", holding up the unit I said, "See, no fire, no flame, no tobacco". I took a drag and said "It's only water vapor". He had this huge look of absolute relief on his face and patted me on the shoulder (which I thought was a bit odd) and said, "Man, thank goodness, I thought you were smoking a cigarette in here!" I just smiled and said "Nope" and he went back to his business and we went on our merry way. Most of the reactions that I get are positive and curious reactions that lead to questions as to what the unit is and how it works. I was at the B&B Drive In (a hamburger joint) in Versailles, Missouri last week. After we finished our lunch, I whipped out my "Super-E" from Totally Wicked. It looks like a cigarette and it was all I had that was charged. I started vaping and continuing my conversation with my wife and a friend we had met there for lunch. I noticed several patrons looking at me and whispering amongst themselves. After 15 minutes or so the manager came out of the back and approached our table just at the time when I was dripping some e-Juice into my e-Cig. She said "That's not a cigarette!" "They told me you were smoking out here." She called the girl out from behind the counter and said "Look, it's not a cigarette!" and then she asked me "What is it?" I told her it was a Personal Inhaler that it just looked like a cigarette. It only emitted water vapor, it was how I quit smoking and that it is totally harmless. it has no fire, flame or tobacco. She was satisfied and returned to her cell and all was good. Upon leaving, I went to the counter to top off my Dr.Pepper (because they didn't have Coke, only Pepsi (communists!)), the girl said "That thing is pretty cool, where did you get it?, I took out one of my business cards and wrote on the back VaporTalk.com and AwesomeVapor.com, I told her that if she was interested she needed to research the product on VaporTalk before deciding to buy one. The week we spent in Missouri, I handed out 20 of my business cards with those two links scrawled on the back. Every restaurant we were in, the waitress asked about my e-Cig. We generally sit in the bar or the smoking section out of habit and to avoid any confrontations with "vaping" in the non-smoking section. Here locally, we have our favorite restaurants that we frequent weekly, at each one we have "our" waiter or waitress that always serves us. Everyone of our favorites has been really intrigued by my e-Cigs and no one has had any problem with it. No one has raised the question about drug paraphernalia or accused me of smoking dope in my e-Cig. But, I don't look like the kind of person that would smoke dope anyway. -
How We Feel About P'bo In Texas
TheSmokingMan replied to TheSmokingMan's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
Glad y'all liked it. -
The fog machines that are used by bands in clubs and at Disney Land/World use PG as the substance that produces the fog. We used one in clubs when I was with the radio station. We used to fill the PayZone (the bar in the Holiday Inn in Elk City Oklahoma) completely up with fog and it made the light show much more dramatic. Driving home tonight and vaping on my VP2 in the truck, the vapor mixing with the blue light made the inside of the truck look pretty cool and it reminded me of those days in the clubs.

Hey, Derek! Welcome to Vapor Talk, if you stick around you will find that this is a great place to get help (as you can see with all of the replies you have received thus far). You will find that the members here are eager to help you be a success in your endeavor to quit smoking analogue cigarettes. So, again welcome, we're glad your here! I understand exactly how you feel about the daunting amount information and misinformation on the internet about e-Cigs. A person can be easily overwhelmed with it all and just give up for fear of making the wrong decision. Everyone is going to have a personal preference from one brand and style of e-Cig and then they are the multitude of different flavors of e-Juice or e-Liquid out there. I am by far no expert on this subject, I just stopped smoking and started vaping on September 17th. I cannot give you first hand information about Smoke51 because I have never tried their product, but I do hear a lot of negative stories about the company and their lousy methods of doing business. If you paid with a debit/credit card, you can have your bank cancel the transaction with one easy call to the banking center. Your excuse is that the product never arrived and you think that you have been defrauded. This forum helped me immensely when it came time for me to make my initial purchases of e-Cigs. I chose to do business with Arno at AwesomeVapor.com and still do business with them regularly, I received a package from them today. Arno's website is not the most professional put together site, but he has passed that savings on to his customers and he is not a fly-by-night supplier. He really takes care of his customers and quite often I get a little bonus in my shipments that I never asked for. If in the event that there is something wrong with the order, they do their utmost to make sure you are informed as soon as possible, they will not leave you wondering what the hold-up is. I have purchased two of their models, the DSE901 and the DSE801 and have not any problems with either of them. I also have purchased a fair amount of e-Juice from them and it is much better than the Johnson Creek Juice, although I personally prefer the Vapor Talk Juice. Chris and Sean have specifically developed their flavors to produce a better amount of vapor and flavor and they are spot on with their mix. Their e-Liquid is marketed at dietSMOKES.com along with several other good juice suppliers. I have also purchased other models from TotallyWickedE-Liquid.com. The initial starter kits that I purchased from them performed well, but I ordered some replacement batteries from them that were cheap and defective. I have ordered the same batteries from Arno and they were as good quality as the original. Look over the reviews and see what fits your lifestyle. But if you want a long lasting battery unit that will take a beating then you should investigate the VP units at VaprLife.com. Jesso makes these units in his shop in New York State and they are the only US made e-Cig on the market that I have found. I have two of the VP2 units and man do they put out the vapor and the batteries get me thru a full day at work. Although the initial investment was higher than others, I don't have to buy a lot of extra batteries and accessories and therefore have come out ahead with this unit. Once again welcome to VaporTalk, any question that you may have can be answered here.

How We Feel About P'bo In Texas
TheSmokingMan replied to TheSmokingMan's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
Your a cynic! -
Near Fredericksburg, Texas, where there is a large German-speaking population, a farmer walking down a country road notices a man drinking from his pond with his hand. The farmer shouted: "Trink das wasser nicht. Die kuhen haben dahin gesheissen."(Which means: 'Don't drink the water, the cows have S**T in it.') The man shouted back: "I'm from Washington DC and just down here campaigning for Obama's Health Care Plan, I can't understand you. Please speak in English." The farmer replied: "Use two hands, you'll get more."
-
Thanks Chris, that helped me decide to purchase a VP1 also.
-
The 36mg is an A$$ kicker, I vaped it for a week and didn't get any sleep. Now, I just use it for an hour in the morning to get going then switch to the 16mg for the rest of the day.
-
So, how would one go about doing that?
