  1. I wouldn't be so sure about him wanting to direct drip. I tried it for a few weeks and decided it was too big a hassle to do it and switched to carts that I fill w/ my own juice. AND if he's blind, it will make DD much more of a hassle
  2. I don't plan on blowing it right in the thing, but I'm glad to know that it will set the things off at least. I guess that would make it real risky to do in those small airplane lavatories? Those bedrooms on the train I hope are big enough where if I do blow it down, it won't do anything, and if I can crack the window, that would make it totally fine.
  3. I got my Spade today also, and it does vape good, but I wish it looked more sleek, because I'm thinking in public people are going to think this is some drug pipe, like the guy who posted he was using his VP2 in a drive thru and they all started saying he was "smoking dope" I honestly could care less what anyone else thought, but I don't want to be explaining this stuff to the cops or be detained because of this, that would really suck! This morning when I leave for New Orleans I'm going to take it, and my 510 and my kissbox, but I will try to use only the kissbox or 510 out in public, and use the Spade only in private. Unless however I stay out real late and those two run out of batt. I love how people think the Kissbox looks like a fountain pen. When you have it in your mouth, people just think you are chewing on a pen. That is what I had hoped the Spade would have looked like. I do wish they could develop a small batt with good life, how hard is that in this day and age of small electronics?
  4. I've also done it in the waiting room and inside the exam room. I did it this past Tuesday, and when the doctor came in I had just exhaled a lot of vapor and he said Nothing. I had told him before about it and he said it was okay so I guess he figured it out. In the wait room, I did it next to a deputy sherif, and he nor anyone said anything. I just got my Spade today, and w/ that thing I'm worried about it looking like I'm doing drugs! I mean this thing does sort of look like a crack or meth pipe! What do I say, or do. I would hate to have a run in w/ an ignorant cop, and being I will be in New Orleans tomorrow night in the quarter where there are a lot of cops, I just don't know. My Kissbox isn't working worth a damn, so I will have to rely mainly on the spade, since it produces vapor like a 510 but longer.
  5. I get tired of it too, but mainly when the thing isn't producing enough vapor or I suck juice or some issues like that. But, yea I guess I do.
  6. Hi, Tomorrow morning 8:30am, I'll be taking Amtrak to New Orleans. Its been a long time since I've taken the train, so I have some questions, mainly about e-cig smoking, if anyone knows. I've booked a bedroom on the train, and what I want to know is if there are smoke detectors in those cabins? I sort of think they might be, and if they are, can anyone tell me their experiences Vaping around smoke detectors, either in a plane bathroom or on a train near one. I've heard VERY MIXED REPORTS about vaping around smoke detectors. One guy (I think smoking-man) said a long time ago he works or used to work on these machines and said they measure air density and therefore they would go off because vapor also changes air density, BUT I've also read reports from others claiming to have Vaped inside the airplane restroom successfully. So, does anyone know FOR SURE on this subject. I really don't want to be setting off the damn thing! Another point is that this bedroom on the train is the larger one, the ones that have a shower and bathroom in them and sleep 3 people, although I'll be alone. But considering they are much larger than a plane lavatory, that should help a little. AND if anyone knows whether those windows on trains will open, can you Please tell me? If those open then I don't think it will be a problem at all. I don't really think I'll have a problem tomorrow, but I might run into some jerk acting like a jerk, so I would like to be prepared. Please let me know, I'll be checking here later tonite and in the morning before I leave for the station.
  7. The dragons work for a little while, then as my experience with them goes, out of the blue, the atty starts heating up, heating up to the point of glowing red. Then it either will finally go out on its own, or you can unscrew the batt. Either way, the thing is DEAD. They replaced two of them already for me, but I certinaly will NEVER buy another one of those crappy things. So far the only really decent e-cig I've had is the Kissbox. But even with those, often the switches it uses goes bad. I've even had 2 bad batteries come with a kit! The VP1 used to be allright, but those awful chinese blue batts are the worst. I just ordered that new one on Vapor talks store that $99 it uses a 510 atty and the batt supposedly lasts 5 hours, and the batt is silver, but probably still from china and will go out in a couple months max. I had hoped for better with the VP1, but as long as any of them use crappy batts, they will end up going dead quick. The regular 510's batteries go out in a hour and half max. The 901's are better batt, but the cart they use doesn't hold decent amounts of juice, which worries me about this new one I ordered that uses a 510 part. If I will have to use one of the regular 510 filters, they definitely don't hold more than 3 drops of juice, and I don't like direct dripping. One thing about both the VP1 and the Kissbox is that they both use really really good carts. Someday, somebody has GOT to come up with a better device. I"ve spent over a grand on these things and still can't find a decent one!
  8. I'm just curious as to why no one offers Vegtable glycerin VG as an option to PG. I personally don't like PG as it agrivates my mouth. I went to Johnson Creek tonight and ordered a 3 pack of LOW PG juice (THEY just started this option) But they don't sell a VG based nicotine juice. I had seen a youtube video of a old guy using VG and snoosh (A tobacco in a tiny little pocket) and he soaked the snoosh in the VG and then put the snoosh inside an empty filter cart, and he got very good vapor and claimed a good taste. I ordered some snoosh a while back, but just tonight ordered some VG. Its very very cheap, 5 bucks for a decent size bottle (5 or 8 ounces i think) It just seems odd, especially with the FDA finding issues with PG, that someone doesn't come out with a BETTER Juice. How hard could it be? Its bad enough that the FDA might ban e-cigs due to it being a nicotine delivery system, but if they can find a way to ban the juice, you bet they will ban it, and they probably are going to anyway the way things look. BUT if someone would come up with a totally harmless liquid to add to nicotine that would work in the e-cigs, I think it would fly off the shelves, and if it could pass FDA testing, it would be great for everyone. Maybe there are issues with VG I'm not aware of, tell me if you know them, but even if there are problems with VG, how hard would it be to create a systemwide stable e-cig juice that contains nothing harmful at all in it. OR anything contriversial except nicotine???
  9. Hi, I've been looking for spare parts for my 2 kissboxes for a while now. DIetsmokes has been out of the atty's forever, and most of the batts too. In fact the only thing I think he has in stock now is the expensive $138 extended kit, which I don't want to have to get. ANyone know where I can buy some Kissbox parts at?
  10. Although I haven't had anything "bad" happen to me lately, I've been in one terribly bad mood for a couple of weeks! I get really short tempered and little things upset me to no end. The one time on my cruise while outside a crewmember who thought I was smoking an anolog and told me I was in the no smoking section. I went ballastic on him! I got up in his face and told him "does this look like a damn cigarette" when he said no, I said then get the F away from me and never bother me again. While I usually always tend to be overly demanding with service industry people, lately I've gone overboard. (Wonder if it might have something to do with my stopping my Antidepressant, Wellbutrin) Anyway, I hope this all passes with me, and everyone else!
  11. I don't think it is AirTrans policy to ban E-Cigs, the FA simply told me she saw a FDA memo about it. However I certainly don't think the pilot would turn the plane around from the taxi way if you were to vape. Even if you lit a cigarette and said it was by accident (like sort of automatically starting to smoke after a meal or w/ a drink) I think even then, you could simply apologize, and the FA would probably not even alert the pilot. Now if you were being a jack *** about it (or anything for that matter) then thats another story. I think a lot of how you get treated has to do with how you present yourself. As far as vaping in the restroom, I thought a member on HERE who said he was some type of electrician said that smoke detectors went off due to air density changes, and that e-cigarettes caused the same air density change as a cigarette. Although I question whether or not that is entirely true due to the large number of people online reporting Vaping successfully in a lavatory on a plane. If I knew for sure the damn thing wouldn't go off I would do it in a heartbeat in the lavitory, considering it won't produce any lingering odor, and you aren't endangering anyone by lighting a match or using a lighter. I would really like someone on here to give us a for sure answer on this smoke detector going off with juice vapor. I think I'll buy a new one soon and blow it directly in it and see if it goes off. Most of them in the past were way too sensative and would go off even if smoking on the sofa and they were 30 feet away.
  12. I think that's great, but its a SHAME that even in Greensboro NC, (where I assume this happened since its listed as where you are) I guess those A-hole anti's couldn't even leave poor NC alone in their quest to stamp out smoking (And E-Smoking if they get their way) not only across every single state in the US, but the ENTIRE World as well. The restaurants in my area have been non-smoking for years. A month or so ago, My mother and I went into Steak and Shake. I didn't bother asking, I just started using my e-cig. My mother was convinced people were looking at me, but I was oblivious to it. When a waitress started to walk over (my mother thinking she was coming to our table) and walked by, my mother grabbed her and told her what they were. The waitress was interested, but never tried stopping me from using it. I use a Kissbox, so mine doesn't light up or look at all like an analog, so that may be one reason I've never been hassled anywhere before. Like I said when I posted about using this thing on a cruise ship and in San Juan, I feel one key in not getting hassled is NOT asking permission. If you ask, a regular employee really can't answer you if they've never heard of them before. IF they ask a manager, then that person has to think whether or not it might be illegal or not and probably wanting to stay safe, might say NO. I think its just best to do it without asking, unless you know in advance they have a policy against it, Like on planes (which a Flight attendant told me the FDA recently banned inflight)
  13. Hi All, I've decided to post and let everyone know about the experiences I had while I was on my vacation from November 15th, thru November 24th I went on this trip with my mother and father and we flew out of Atlanta. We parked our car at the Airport Clarion Hotel and took the shuttle bus to the terminal. While on the shuttle bus, there was an AirTran Flight attendant (we were also flying AirTran) so I decided to ask her about E-cigs. She told me that she recently read a memo from the FDA saying that they were banning them in-flight. She told me she didn't have any specific information on them and couldn't remember the details of the memo other than they were not allowed. When we all arrived at the airport, I vaped all the way thru checking the bags in and waiting in the security line. No one ever said anything to me and I never pay attention to whether anyone is looking at me from a distance or not so I don't know if anyone was talking about it or not if they did notice something. I also vaped while waiting to get on the plane. I decided not to try and vape on the plane because for one, someone was seated next to me I didn't know, and because of what the other flight attendant had told me. I also didn't try it on the return air flight either due to the same reasons. IF there had been an empty seat next to me, I definitely would have discretely vaped though not producing a lot of vapor. The cruise was for seven nights and left out of San Juan, stopping in St. Thomas, Tortola, St. Lucia, Antigua, and Barbados. During the entire cruise, I vaped everywhere I went without any problem at all. I vaped at the dinner table in the main dining room, and even in the elevators with people in them. I also vaped at the resort I went to and hung out all day in Antigua as well. I think one of the main reasons no one ever said a thing to me about vaping was because I didn't produce a lot of vapor when I vaped and I also think you have a much better chance at having no issues if you do it with the attitude of I'm not doing anything wrong. I think its a mistake to always ask people permission since what we are doing does NOT cause any problems for other people. Vaping does not produce any 2nd hand smoke, and there is no odor or residue left on materials. There was only ONE TIME during the entire 7 night cruise that one person said something to me. I was vaping in the non-smoking area on the pool deck beside the windows. The crew-member who said something I'm pretty sure thought I was smoking a regular cigarette when He approached me. I actually sort of got really pissed off at him because I thought to myself, even if I was smoking an analog, I was outside afterall, and I wasn't bothering anyone. So when he said something to me, I didn't take it very well. I made sure to let him know it wasn't a cigarette and that I was NOT smoking. He apologized and then went on his way. Other than that I never heard a word from another crew member OR a passenger thru out the entire cruise. When we arrived back in San Juan, we went to the Ritz Carlton hotel. Because Ritz is part of Marriott's chain, its US and Caribbean hotels are also Non-Smoking. Again, I vaped everywhere. in my room, in the club lounge, by the pool in my lounge chair, and even at the front desk checking in. Still, no one said anything to me even when I know for sure they could tell I was inhaling some type of smoke. I guess all they knew was it wasn't tobacco or a cigarette and as such, said nothing. I was very happy with the POSITIVE EXPERIENCE I had on this trip with regard to vaping.
  14. I'm adopted, so there's nothing running in the family on this. Plus with others experiencing this effect, I think we all really need to admit this is a potential problem/issue AND that if we are ever going to get national attention or acceptance, it better be something that is easily rectified. If its the PG causing this problem, can VG be used effectively? The juice that I threw away which seemed to be the most irritating was NOT Johnson Creek, I'm pretty sure this juice was made in China, in fact I even stated I thought it might have been a juice I placed with a direct china E-Cig order. I hate the fact that this happened. These things have helped me quit smoking outright, and I know if I stop using these, I'll go back to analogs in a second. I've just started to enjoy being able to vape virtually anywhere I go now, so to have to quit is something I definitely don't want to happen. I think I'm going to send an email to one of the USA juice suppliers and tell them about my experience and see what they say? Surely with as many people on here having experienced this, or something similar, they will have some answers. I remember a a month or two ago seeing a youtube video if this guy who used snoosh (a pre-packaged mini tobacco from Sweden) soaked in Vegetable Glycerin inside an empty cart of a Kissbox. He said it produced a satisfying vapor AND that if ever a ban were to come about, this would get around it. (Whether thats true or not, I don't know, I'm only repeating what the guy said) I actually ordered some snoosh after I saw this video, but I have yet to buy any VG and try it. Although with this problem occurring, I'm definitely going to be ordering me some VG this week!
  15. OF COURSE WE DON'T SHARE THE SAME E-CIG! I've actually got about 4 different models and a total of 20 just for myself ALONE. I change filters every 2 days. I do know that one particular juice I had when I used it, my mouth would be sore all over. It came in a dark brown glass bottle and used the eye dropper with a black rubber end. I can't remember if that particular juice came from China, or if I got it from here as I threw it out about a week ago. I'm wondering if maybe I can switch to VG instead of the PG and maybe that will help. Considering that at least a few of you guys have also experienced something similar, I'm surprised we haven't heard more on this, and a way to avoid it or something. My fluid intake has not changed at all since I've been vaping.
