  1. After testing the 3 batteries I got, I found: The unprotected battery lasts about half a day for me. I was not using it because I wanted to charge it when I had time to watch it carefully. The protected batteries are a mixed bag, one lasts longer than the other, and both do not charge fully. I assume the protection circuit is defective and is stopping the charge early. I'm going to buy some unprotected Ultra Fire 10440's and test with those. I got my new attys from Arno, and they work much better that the ones I got from TW. I will report later about the amount of juice I am using with them.
  2. I was trying to say that these batteries being discharged at a normal rate should not explode. Now running them in series we have no idea what the discharge rate is. Has anyone done the proper testing to see what the discharge rate is like for 2 batteries in series? Any electrical engineer should be able to test and prove if it safe or not. Maybe we should be looking into using DC to DC inverters with a 18500 battery for 5 and 6 volt mods. With proper design, we can stabilize the voltage and add a cutoff if the voltage falls to low or the draw is too high. Another reason I love the VP1 are the vent holes, if a battery does pop, much of the force will be exhausted out the vents.
  3. This issue has been on my mind for a few days now. I did some research, and these batteries should not explode unless they are overcharged or shorted out externally or internally. Over discharging at a nominal should not cause these batteries to explode. I have no idea what caused this, but it seems to be the one in a million.
  4. Jeso sent 2 protected and 1 unprotected battery. I am testing all 3. It's starting to look like the protected batteries are not fully charging. They only stay on the charger 20 - 30 minutes before the light turns green. The unprotected takes about an hour to charge. The TW attys, are they low or high bridge?
  5. Maybe somebody can help me. Been vaping for about 3 weeks, and I bought a VP1 from Vaprlife and a 5 pack of 801 attys from Totally Wicked during the 30% off sale. In an average day I go through 2 VP1 batteries 2 801 manual batteries and 5ml of liquid. It seems like a lot, and I don't vape continuously all day, only 10- 20 puffs every half hour. (I used to smoke a pack a day) In the VP1 a fully charged battery will give me 5 - 10 good slow drags, then the vapor production drops off and the battery in the VP1 is dead within about 2 hours. I have a pair of manual 801 batteries and they give good vapor for an hour and then it drops off till they die at the 2 hour mark. If I drip, 2-3 drops will give 3 puffs before it tastes burnt. If I use more than that the atty starts to gurgle and it leaks. Is it the attys? I have been through 4 of the 5 pack. I ordered some low bridge attys from awesome vapor to see if it helps.
  6. I was thinking about removing the 510 end and the wires, just leaving the USB plug and battery holder/charger. Instant portable USB 10440 battery charger. I have no need for a 510 passthru since I use a 901 and the VP1 is coming with a 801 adapter. I got in on the 30% off sale at Wicked and got a 5 pack of 801 attys for 24 bucks! To bad today is a holiday, the VP1 and the attys from Wicked are both "out for delivery" according to the USPS. I cannot wait! Thanks for the info everyone. I'm a computer geek and modder, so everything I see is a modding opportunity!
  7. The one I saw has a 10440 battery inline. They talk about being able to unplug and still have power to vape. Example
  8. Thanks! The inverter is a great idea. I totally forgot about those. Still looking around and found the 510 passthru with a 10440 battery. Does the passthru charge the battery? If so I could use that to charge from my 12v to USB adapter.
  9. I just got a VP1 it is due Tuesday or Wednesday. I am going camping next month and wondering where I can get a charger that works off USB or 12v power point in my car. Just been Vaping 2 weeks and already bought a VP1. Boy has the worm turned for me! Thanks!
  10. Thanks! I love the online mega-brain!
  11. Actually what I was envisioning is those zippered syringe cases you used to see in the movies. They held a big syringe and a bottle of "medicine". Anybody know what I am talking about?
  12. It's a KR? That's what I thought. Looks like Vapor Kings just started carrying them. I will have to send him over if their prices are better. Thanks!
  13. I am going to order a VP1, and was wondering if anybody had a recommendation for a carrying case. Looking to take the VP1 with the atomizer off, maybe a 5ml bottle of liquid and an extra atomizer or battery. Something not too bulky that would fit in a pants pocket. Thanks!
  14. I just started vaping a week ago. My friends were very curious, and I answered A LOT of questions. Good thing I did all my research before I purchased. One of my friends decided to start vaping and bought the stater kit from Green Smoke. I was appalled at the price ($139). I looked around the site and found replacement parts are in the 50 dollar range. Ridiculous! They also claim one cart will last as long as 2.5 packs of cigarettes. If this a standard model? Can he buy batteries and cartomizers and such cheaper on the web? He's a nice guy and feel he is getting hustled. P.S. I am planning to order a VP1 tomorrow! Dripping here I come!
