Alergic to ecig? PG or VG?

Recommended Posts

Hello, i am kinda new at vaping, only 8 months, and for last 2 or 3 months i started to notice problems with my stomach. It started to hurt and was bloated and i had no idea what was causing it. I didnt wanted to believe it could be from e cigs and was thinking its becouse of my life style as i lost my job recently and pretty much sitting at PC each day and not moving so much :) Did even colonoscopy and endoscopy wich didnt rly gave any results. So i started to get suspicious at e cig and now i have returned to real cigs again :( and i must say i am feeling lil bit better. Cant rly be 100% sure yet, as its only been 2 days now, but still... So my question is, could it be from PG or VG? If so then thats it, i cant vape? :( Will have to stick to these smelly ones? :(

What brand of e-cigarettes were you using? What brand of e-liquid? What PG/VG ratio and nicotine level was the e-liquid?

We might be able to help if we had more information.  :)

If you vaped 6 months without any reaction I would say it's safe to bet it's not the pg or vg. I've never heard your symptoms come up from vaping. Reactions to pg and vg are pretty rare but not unheard of. Most who experience minor reactions say a switch to pg free juice has helped. But other than that I'd keep looking for your problem. Good luck. I hope things go better for you.

Both PG and VG are "safe", as  in food-safe... PG exists in thousands of products you use daily... toothpaste, mouthwash, deodorant, cough-syrup (just to name a small few).  VG is also found in many foods and drinks, as it is a natural (diabetic-safe) sweetener.

PG allergies are more common than VG allergies, and both are really rare.  PG allergies are a lot like latex allergies... contact causes irritation, and goes away soon after you remove that contact.  But, your doctor can test for a PG allergy VERY easily, or you can do it yourself, simply by grabbing pure PG at your local grocery store or pharmacy and rub a little on your skin (arm, leg, stomach, etc.) and see if you get a reaction.  If you do, simply wash it off, and the irritation will go away in a short time.

I'm with Bebop on this one... if you vaped for 6-months, and never had an issue before now, I'm 99.99999% sure it is NOT the e-cig that is causing the problem.  My guess is that you have finally rid yourself of all the toxins smoking has polluted your body with, and couple that with the stress of losing your job recently, and you're a prime candidate for minor stomach distress, ulcers, IBS, heart-burn (and the list goes on)...  Either that, or the most recent batch of juice you picked up is bad, old, or your body just doesn't like that brand/flavor?

I read somewhere that if you get too much nic in your system it can cause stomach pains, even though the nic isn't in your stomach. Maybe you are just sitting around vaping too much. even though you don't have a high nic content in your juice the amount you vape could raise the nic content in your system. I might not be on the right track but it's a thought.

Does your loss of gainful employment coincide with the onset of your symptoms? Does a change in diet coincide with the onset of symptoms. It could be stress or a poor diet.

And it doesn't necessarily have to be a change in diet, it could be the cumulative effects of eating low quality highly processed foods for years.

Eating pretty much the same as before, even better then before actually, never had time at work rly and was in rush all the time... But yea i guess it could be coz of inactivity, eating more and stress, as not only work but had some skin probs also month before this stomach issue started and that also was a huge headache... Well anyways, tnx guys for calming me down and explainimg things :)
