    menthol

I have to concur....Halo has an excellent variety of menthol juices. In fact, Menthol Ice is my staple. I occasionally mix other flavors with it, but Menthol Ice is the base. It's a cool, clean refreshing menthol flavor. Doesn't leave a minty or lingering aftertaste.
  3. How you inhale is personal preference. I've never considered whether one type of inhalation was healthier than another. NEITHER is "good" for your health, since you're introducing a foreign substance to your body, but a far cry healthier than smoking.
  4. If you're considering an electronic cigarette as an option, I would suggest purchasing a disposable brand (Blu, NJoy or whatever's available) from your local convenience store or gas station. Doing so will allow you to experience an ecig without investing a lot of money.
  5. In all honesty, it's not necessary for your co-workers to understand. They don't even have to know you vape unless you choose to share with them. You don't need their understanding or approval to do what you feel is right for YOU.
  6. What delivery system does this definition refer to; nicotine delivered via traditional cigarettes or electronic cigarettes? I ask because I've read e-cig sdeliver nicotine to the system differently, though I'm not sure of the specifics. Or does it matter?
  7. Congrats on discovering electronic cigarettes! I too cling to my preferred menthol, though it's not as if I haven't tried other flavors. I guess being freed from the limited taste restrictions imposed by cigarettes encourages vapers to enjoy many different flavors. I find that even though my "go-to" juice is the fresh, clean taste of Halo Menthol Ice, switching occasionally to a different flavor refreshes my taste buds, allowing me to appreciate my favorite that much more. Even at that, though, I never venture past one or two alternate flavors. But after experimenting for almost 4 years (I'm 55, by the way), it's very apparent that the one remaining aspect I've carried over from smoking ( beside the hand-to-mouth ritual) is "menthol". Whatever I vape must have a noticeable menthol base. With that, I find that adding menthol to a coffee or vanilla juice improves the flavor for me. I've yet to find a coffee or vanilla, though, that's satisfying enough for me to commit to. Anyway, keep it up...a pleasure reading your post.
  8. I find it's best for me to avoid those kiosks entirely because I can't stand seeing people being fleeced. What's really sad is...and this is just my opinion...those sales people really believe that what they're selling is the "real deal". Some are like robots, for lack of a better term. I visited a kiosk back when I was using an eGo. I'm standing there looking around and the guy made a pitch. I respectfully declined, showing him my eGo. Acted like he didn't see it! He then proceeded to try to sell me one of those $125.00 starter kits. It became apparent to me then that being there was rather pointless.
  9. Yeah...I've heard the "switching one bad habit for another" from a few people. Strangely enough, it's usually said by smokers. Non-smokers I've come across seem really fascinated upon learning about vaping; delighted I've been able to find a healthier alternative. But I don't get mad upon hearing this. I find myself agreeing, while countering with something like "at least I'm not spending a small fortune for cigarettes anymore". That effectively ends the snarky remarks.
  10. Interesting question. I ran across a fellow vaper recently who shared something with me I hadn't considered. Didn't think very much about it, but your question brought it to mind. This fellow switched to vaping for health reasons. He said he vapes 0 mic juice because he fears having nicotine in his system may void his insurance policy since he states he's a non-smoker. I have no idea whether the insurance company performs such tests on a body after death, but this guy wasn't taking any chances. It would be interesting to find out if there's any validity to this speculation. The only other thought concerning this is maybe some vapers are serious about being addiction free, but still enjoy the act of vaping. Kind of like using a hookah (I think that's what they're called) or something.
  11. No question about it...I'm a nicotine addict. I've heard it said, though, that we don't get as much nicotine from vaping as we would from smoking. There's a pretty good video I ran across from an addiction counselor who states we could vape nicotine for the rest of our lives and it wouldn't harm us. That's quite a relief considering I vape continuously, just as you described.
  12. First off, I know virtually nothing about "systems"; I've found what works for me and I'm satisfied. I HAVE noticed over the past 3 years that not all juice is created equal. It might TASTE great, but you pay hell trying to vape it. It just seems to me that its possible the juice is more of a problem than what you're vaping with. I don't KNOW, as I've said, but its worth considering.
  13. I daresay it's more than a bit ironic that soon after I posted this query... ...I came down with a cold. (Guess that'll teach me to keep my big mouth shut.)
  14. I can't say I don't like it. More like I don't know if I like it 'cause I haven't used it enough to form an opinion. Made an effort last week to see how it performs with one of the other atomizers. Attempted to switch attys and discovered it was a bit more involved than simply popping one off and another one on. I lost interest. I don't want to rebuild stuff. I have to keep reminding my wife that I'm not a mechanic OR a carpenter. I'm not a tinkerer. I don't want to fix or rebuild stuff. I just want it to work.
  15. True. Have you noticed any marked improvement of your health?
  16. Never heard of this phenomena prior to this thread. Happened to run across a blog written by a Totally Wicked tech who mentions "backfiring" cartos. If I remember correctly, it seems it has something to do with air not circulating properly within the cartomizer..some kind of blockage built up that releases suddenly upon inhalation.
  17. Just visited a thread concerning a member who's discovered vaping but has a cold. It got me wondering if people notice a decrease in viral infections since they've begun vaping. Prior to becoming a vaper, it was "normal" for me to experience at least one cold a year. I just expected it. I'd get sick around the same time each year. After I started vaping I've experienced one cold in three years. I don't know with any certainty that I can contribute my improved health to vaping, yet it's hard to believe this is merely a coincidence...especially since there have been no other significant lifestyle changes that may have so drastically improved my health. There have been other more obvious health improvements, but "no more colds", for me, is quite significant. Update: Please forgive my obsessiveness, but I'm very much a stickler for articulating exactly what you intend to communicate. To do so usually requires observing things accurately too. But after posting my query it occurred to me that the reason I experience fewer viral infections may have less to do with vaping and more a consequence of no longer smoking cigarettes.
  18. This e-juice review rates a particular juice as "great for getting someone off cigarettes". Might be worth taking a look at. http://content.spinfuel.com/2012/09/plume-room-ejuice-review/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+SpinfuelEcigsMagazine+%28Spinfuel+eCigs+Magazine%29
  19. That recommendation about Halo Menthol Ice caught my attention since it's what I vape 99% of the time. The thing is, your son...if he picks up vaping...may gravitate toward a juice that's NOTHING like what he smoked. My recommendation is to seek out vendors who offer variety packs. (Halo is one such company.) You get an assortment of flavors at a fairly equitable price. You might also want to attend a vape meet if you can. The one I attend (when I get the chance) solicits vendors to donate juice for vapers to sample. Nothing better than sampling and socializing with fellow vapers.
  20. I purchased a Nova Saturday at the recommendation of a local vendor. Been using the same atty since then without giving it much thought as I primarily use my Liquinator tank. Figured I'd get around eventually to figuring out exactly what I brought. This post turned a light on for me. When I dripped I used an HH.357 atty from Avid Vaper. I routinely cleaned that atty by allowing it to sit 1/2 hour in 190 proof grain alcohol. Cleans all the gunk out. Don't know why these Nova attys can't be cleaned the same way. Just a thought.
  21. Did you REALLY think I'd suggest a store and not have an address? tsk*tsk*tsk VapeXcape 34 Main St Reisterstown MD 21136 410-833-0680 *In Reisterstown Village Shopping Center (near Food Lion) They have a Facebook page too.
  22. Welcome, neighbor. Always glad to see a new recruit. You do have a little way to travel from Philly to Baltimore. There is a vape store near here, but you'd have to add at least another 1/2 hour to your trip. The place is called VapeXcape, located in Reisterstown MD. It's well worth the effort getting there, though. They carry a nice selection of vape gear and e-liquid in addition to other holistic products. You won't be disappointed.
  23. Sorry! But as I see you have recently joined the vaping community, I'd be delighted if your shared your story too. It's always interesting to learn how people happen upon electronic cigarettes.
