  1. To save money. $6.00 a pack (per day) was more than I was willing to pay for cigarettes.
  2. Welcome! What's your story? How'd you discover vaping? When did you decide to switch? What's your impression so far? (So many questions...so little time...!)
  3. The upside to this, I think, is escalating prices and bans are doing something cancer couldn't do... ...force people to quit smoking, cut back or find smoking alternatives. E-cigarette users are in a good place. Despite efforts to restrict and ban electronic cigarettes, there's enough knowledge circulating about how this whole thing works that e-cigs will always be available in some form or fashion.
  4. All I know is I didn't start using electronic cigarettes to quit smoking...I started because cigarette prices shot up a dollar overnight. Except for one 4 month period, I've used electronic cigarettes exclusively. Whether someone characterizes this as a "smoking alternative", "smoking cessation" or "stop smoking" device is irrelevant to me. It's purpose is whatever the user chooses it to be. It doesn't have to, or need to take the place of anything...it should be available for use as the consumer sees fit.
  5. I hope you're right. It's been 3 years since we discovered vaping, though she abandoned e-cigs before she got started good. Then on the few occasions I was able to get her to sample a juice she would immediately start coughing from it. I guess old habits are really hard to break for some people.
  6. Great post, Christopher. Sadly enough, my wife never caught on to the "slow and long" technique. She gave up out of frustration. What's even more sad is she can't "help" me smoke my pack of cigarettes anymore, so she's graduated to 100s.
  7. I'm out of the loop when it comes to what's current. But there's a lot of knowledgable folk here; I'm sure someone will point you toward something you may like. In any event...WELCOME.
  8. Glad you hung in there...well done.
  9. I think I was predisposed toward vaping prior to knowing anything about it. First off, I'm a gadget freak. I love anything that requires pushing or clicking a button to do something else. So ecigs had a built in appeal for me. Secondly, I wasn't getting much satisfaction from smoking anymore. I'd continue to go through a pack a day, but it was more habit than enjoyment. When the price jumped $1 overnight, I decided to find a cheaper cigarette source. Put out some online queries and someone recommended an electronic cigarette. Purchased one and "that was all she wrote". But I'm not you. And you're not the people who share their vape experiences online, so it's unfair to rate what you experience against everyone else. If your goal is to quit smoking and you smoke one less cigarette than you normally would, that's PROGRESS. Before long you'll be smoking TWO less. If you toss your ecig in the trash and say, "to hell with it"... ...CONGRATULATE YOURSELF for at least giving it a try.

  11. Heard about tanks but wasn't really interested in learning much about them. I tend to develop an urge for something first, research it, buy it, obsess over it a while, then use the heck out of it until I become bored with it or it doesn't work anymore. WHY I suddenly became interested in tanks is something I can't explain. Woke up one morning and wanted a tank. Wound up purchasing the Vape-O-Matic Liquinator. 2 weeks later, I purchase my 2nd Liquinator. 2 weeks after that, I'm punching my own cartos. What can I say...it works well. I don't experience any of the problems associated with tanks. The one problem I DO have is recognizing when to change cartos as I tend toward pushing them past a week. Took me 3 years to find the perfect set-up. To me, the Provari and the Liquinator are a match made in heaven.
  12. I don't think a pv that performs well is truly outdated. The fact that you found one you liked and stuck with it says volumes about you AND the pv you chose. Now, if you want to make a new purchase, that's different. Hope you find a device that serves you as well as the one you own.
  13. Welcome! Always delightful to have new people discover the joys of vaping. As for your question, you'll probably get as many answers as there are vapers. I'd respectfully suggest you browse the forum and read the answers submitted by other members to the very same question. That way you'll get a good overview concerning what's available, comparable to what your requirements are and what your budget allows. I believe a good number of people may recommend the Joye eGo. It's a relatively low cost pv, yet it has very reliable performance and delivers a consistent vape. It's one of the models noted for it's "big battery" that lasts an average of 8-12 hours per charge. The eGo is a great pv for beginners or anyone who desires a good, low maintenance device. Please visit often and keep us informed about your vape experiences. (We love to share!) Happy vaping!
  14. I often have the same problem with my 1100 mAh eGo battery. The battery is not making contact with the charger. First, use a paper towel or napkin to clean any excess or caked juice from the threads. Then take a paper clip and carefully lift the circular base enclosed within the battery threads. It doesn't take much. Just slightly lift the base a bit. Your battery should charge now. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
  15. I rather prefer the CE-2 over the dual coil in terms of flavor. There's a definite flavor improvement. As for an easy way to fill them? I believe the suggestion made concerning using a needle instead of the tubing is on point. At present, PATIENCE is your best tool. It's often difficult to locate those tiny holes once the cartridge is wet, but you'll find a paper clip to be quite useful locating them. Leave it there as a marker and patiently insert the darn blasted bendy tube. I've also found that slight overfilling improves performance. I vape continually and I can get several hours from a fully loaded cartridge. Can't say the same for my lr or dual coils. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
  16. I concur with the previous responses. There's no way I would recommend vaping to anyone who was not a cigarette smoker, or to anyone who had successfully quit smoking.
  17. Well, after a full day of using the dual coil, I realized I had to order a syringe to keep it properly filled. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
  18. My "being nice" has nothing to do with it. Your expertise speaks for itself and many of us would benefit should you ever change your mind and decide to share what you know on a larger scale. Podcast perhaps? Something to think about... The dual coils and the 1100 mAh battery came today (see http://www.vapersforum.com/showthread.php?p=669981). Gloria was pleased that you enjoyed her company. Whether she'll return or not is up in the air. A lot depends on how much I've ticked her off; but she seems to be like you in one respect. You can't bully or make her do anything she really doesn't want to do. And you can't continually ask her about anything You can only float a suggestion her way and hope she's receptive to the idea. The truth of the matter is she FORGOT she agreed to accompany me to the vape meet. I only reminded her an hour prior to the time I planned on us leaving. I fully expected her to back out, but she probably didn't want to "hear my mouth" so she came along to keep the peace. I compromised by leaving earlier than I wanted to since she was gracious enough to come. You can imagine my relief upon Gloria enjoying herself despite feeling a bit out of place. If she does return, it'll be due to the food and the company, NOT because of vaping and CERTAINLY not because of ME.
  19. Thanks for sharing what you tested the dual coil cartos on. I ordered 10 Smok Tech cartos too, along with an 1100 mAh eGo replacement battery. I was a bit worried I might have made a mistake DESPITE the glowing YouTube and forum reviews. If the dual coils work well with the 650 mAh batteries I have nothing to worry about. Thanks again! 20. Thanks Sharon, I anticipate being present at the next event. Hopefully, Gloria will return also. As lordmage is putting effort toward starting something in Baltimore, I'll ask him if he'd like to accompany us. NEXT TIME, though, I'll have my new 1100 mAh eGo battery and dual coil carto to allow a better appreciation of contributor samples. By the way...your expertise simply BEGS for a few YouTube videos. Any thoughts in that direction? Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
  21. Ok...just ordered 10 dual coils and 1 1100 mAh eGo battery, but the website advises that dual coils could possibly damage the battery switch. I decided it was worth the risk, but I'm wondering now whether anyone has experienced this problem. Anyone? Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
  22. Thanks, lovie. Gonna place an order right away! Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
  23. Am I correct in understanding these dual coil cargos can be used with either the regular or mega eGo batteries? Are they really much better than LR cartos? Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

  25. Just dropped in to thank The White Rose Vapers Club for hosting such a fine vape meet Saturday. Special thanks to Sharon for being such a gracious and knowledgeable host. I rarely socialize so I was more than a bit hesitant to drive an hour out of state, to a place I've never been, to meet with people I didn't know. I needn't have worried 'cause my wife and I were immediately welcomed and made to feel at home. (Didn't help that we were a half hour late for the event, but no one seemed to be the least bit concerned.) I never would have guessed this was only the club's second meet. While the atmosphere was casual, you could tell that a lot of preparation went into planning the event. Brandon and Sharon were able to get several vendors to supply juice samples and the selection was impressive, to say the least. While I did sample a handful of flavors, I didn't sample as many as I would have liked since I wasn't sure about "first timer's sampling etiquette". ("Juice hog" does not make a fine first impression...!) What was most special was being seated close to Sharon and Dave who graciously shared their vape expertise with everyone present. This was the first time I'd seen so many different e-cigs and vape accessories up close, and man the gear was well represented. Sharon alone has enough gear...and knowledge...to start her own business. If she's not doing videos, she should be. It would be a shame to waste such expertise. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the Cobblestone Restaurant. The meal (crab cakes) was excellent...and reasonably priced. Seems the restaurant was gracious enough to supply a private area in the balcony that provided ample room for those that attended. Can't complain about the service either; the waitress did a marvelous job. Guess you can tell I had a pretty good time. Unfortunately, the day was not without a couple hiccups. My trusty TomTom portable GPS successfully navigated us 56 miles from Baltimore MD to York PA... ...and dropped the ball at the finish line, routing us around the corner from where we needed to be (???). Had to ask a local to guide us back around the corner to the restaurant. Then there was what seemed to be a major accident on I83, which turned the interstate into a parking lot for 45 minutes. Police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, a helicopter...somebody must have gotten seriously hurt. Anyway, I'm glad I got the invitation to attend, and I look forward to the next meet. (Somebody post the newbie vape meet etiquette guide...much appreciated...!) Enjoy your Memorial Day.
