My recommendation would be to take a good look at your everyday setup, and pick out something that you would like to improve on.
Using myself as an example: I love my subox kit. It is awesome, and most days, it is more than enough to get me through the day. However, on weekends or days when I'm using the train instead of driving, I begin to notice some things I'd like to improve. Tank capacity is the biggest thing. I'm really not keen on carrying extra juice with me while bar hopping with the guys. Battery life is the next issue. I haven't had it die, yet, but I've come close enough to not be comfortable vaping freely.
I've got no experience dripping, so I'm not much help there. It seems like a lot of work, but would be cool for an at home setup. I couldn't imagine trying to drip at work or while out though.

After six months? I'd get another tank and battery. Then, I would do even more research into dripping and what that entails -- do you want to use a premade atomizer and drip the old fashioned way? Or do you want to get an ohm meter, learn all about Ohm's Law, electrical safety, buy organic cotton, wire, torch... ? If it's the latter, please be doing lots of research so you know what you're getting into and how to go about it safely.

The problem I came across with juice is that I fell in love with a particular flavor and wound up buying bigger bottles every time. Then, all of a sudden, it didn't seem to taste as good as it used to and my new favorite had to be found. This left me with many large partial bottles of juice that no longer appealed. After all this time I have three or four juices I rotate regularly, one of them I've been stuck on for 2 1/2 years. You'll find your way, Kev. In the mean time, keep stocked up.

I usually vape around 10 watts, I bump it down to 5 for him and he may go up a tiny bit but not much. He actually was a bit better last night with some coaching about mouth to lung hits and slow soft inhales. Waiting on my next juice order to get here with 70vg/30pg mix and see if that helps as well. He has definitely cut down on smoking. I am 16 days smoke free. Glad I joined here and so many friendly folks are willing to offer advice.

That's actually what I was asking... what is everyone's sweet spot., like you just said, everyone have a different one...I wasn't asking what is the optimal settings for a vaporizer.... never mind...

That is the technical way to do it... I use a more simple system. I keep changing the power to I get a nice sweet hit in my tongue, then I know I hit the right.setting for that e-liquid, is becoming a familiar moment..is a nice sweet hit that lets me know that I'm there.

The K-box only has indicator lights, so I'll assume it is a sub-box-mini?
If the box itself is getting hot when you insert the battery, the system is likely shorting out, or the chip-set is defective.  They should not get hot!
Does it get hot with the tank OFF of the box?  If so, it is definitely a box malfunction.
What kind of battery are you using? (brand, mAh, Amp-rating, etc)

Cig-a-likes are the MOST expensive option for vaping also.  They last about a day of vaping, and run upwards of $6-7 each (when purchased in singles), which is far more expensive than a pack of smokes (unless you're in NYC or CA).
From the White Cloud website... Fling disposables cost (before taxes, or shipping if ordered online):
    $5.95 for a single
    $24.95 for a five-pack ($4.99 each)
$325.00 for a 100-pack variety selection of 20 each of the five primary flavors ($3.25 each) - which are designed for retail sales, not for personal use
To get pricing equivalent to a pack-a-day smoking, you'd have to buy them in 100-packs, and any of us on this forum can tell you that $325 will set you up with a fantastic system, with back-ups, and enough juice and coils to keep you vaping for a year (possibly longer)... not the 100-days that disposables will...
Basic economics wins every time... forget flavor, forget function, forget ease-of-use, forget durability, forget reliability, and forget customization to provide the best experience... disposables and most cig-a-likes are just just money-pits... and that's not just my opinion... that's pretty much the consensus on this forum (or any vaper that has successfully kicked the smoking habit).

BCarter said it already...  start at a low setting, vape, move up in Wattage (or Voltage on a VV device), vape... continue this process until you get a slightly burnt taste, or the taste changes to something harsh... back the Wattage/Voltage back a couple of notches (usually 0.1-0.2V or 0.2-.05W), and you've found the sweet-spot for that coil/tank combo.

BCarter hit the nail on the head for finding your sweet-spot...  Every juice has a sweet-spot, where flavor is perfect, and that will vary based on the tank (or RDA/RTA) it is in, the coil style, coil resistance, air-flow, PG/VG ratio, Nicotine-level, etc...  99% of the fun is trying to figure out the sweet-spot

Yeah I guess I should've seem that coming. I think she just sold me based on her personal preference. Three guesses what she was vaping with? Lol.

Your center pin might have gotten pushed down and is no longer making contact with the atomizer in your EVOD. Check out this video, even though this is an eGo battery, the premise is the same. Hope that helps!

Well its a double edged sword but this will be one of the good things that come out of FDA regulation. There will be no more hiding what is in the liquid. I buy all mine from just two suppliers I know and trust what is in there but it should be universal.

It reminds me of when I was trying to switch from cigarettes to a pipe.  That thing was always in my hand whether I was toking on it or not.  I used it for pointing, gesticulating, making a point etc.  Now with these big wonker batteries and tanks it's kinda the same thing.

Try a Fuzion liquid one time and see if you still say that lol. The flavor is there I just don't like watermelon vapor. When I first started I thought anything I would like to eat or drink I would like to vape but I was wayyy off. Their Watermelon flavors are spot on BUT when I tasted their "Endless Summer" I knew from the first pull I had found the liquid I would use as long as I vape or they stay in business. Their flavors are super complex too.... I know Comp and want to buy from him and he has tried for a year to clone my flavor unsuccessfully. Everyone likes something different but for a high VG flavor I have not ever tried anything close.;...or even comparable to Fuzion. But liquids are one of those things that are so personal and what I love you may hate lol. My wife never smoked a menthol in her life BUT the only flavor she vapes is 80pg 20vg 24mg Peppermint with Extra Extra flavor.....tastes like an Altoid x 10.

    ^^ This ^^
I understand the desire to cater to the cloud-chasers and super-sub-ohmers, but for the other 9 our of 10 of us in the real world, we prefer a solid, single-coil option, and replaceable coil-heads in a 0.8 Ohm and higher option!
IMO, the explosion of sub-ohm tanks has saturated the market, and those noobs to vaping are not getting good options for flavor and smoking cessation... they're getting pushed into "cloud-making", and expensive gear, which is not appealing, and turns away a lot of potential vapers!
My last trip into the most well-stocked B&M locally, I was rather shocked at the selection... three cases of high-end devices, RDA's, sub-tanks, high-powered APV's, etc.... and one tiny selection of Spinners, KPT2's, Davides, Nautilus, coils, etc., and they were pushing the Kanger, Horizon, and Yocan sub-tanks HARD (along with $100+ box-mods, $20/each batteries, and $40 chargers).  Yeah, it's more profit, but what is that doing for promoting vaping to noobs?
(sorry, got on a little rant there, lol)

The sweet-spot for Wattage settings will depend on the juice you're using, and the resistance of the coil (and to a small degree the tank you're using).
Use this charts below as a good reference, but as always, start a new coil/juice out at low Wattage settings, vape, bump up the Watts, vape, repeat... until you get a slight burnt taste, and then back-off the power by 0.1-0.5 Watts... that should be the sweet-spot.

The interval for replacing the wick/coil is not set in stone.  Some coils will last for days, some for weeks, some for hours.  But, when the flavor starts to diminish, or the draw becomes tighter, it's probably a good indication to change the wick (on an RDA/RTA) or replace the COIL on a standard tank (like KPT, Nautilus, etc.)

I did too.  those cigalikes were terrible and expensive for very little satisfaction.  I almost gave the whole thing up as a bad job till I saw a salesman toking on an eGo VV and saw that the damned thing actually worked.  My sig other surprised me with a starter kit after I raved about the salesman's showmanship.  The rest is satisfaction, analogue free, fun hobby history

I started with e-cigarettes, the ones that actually looks like an analogue... those come with cartomizers with some crapy cigarette flavour, and they are just plain terrible... Vaporizers are designed for e-liquids, and they are a totally different thing.

I think that's a great idea.  The more we can distance our activity from e-cigarette smoking and more towards personal vaping, the less comparison people will make with analogues.
