I noticed this a few months ago...   I was vaping 18mg right up to bed-time and had restless sleep and woke up with headaches (Nicotine withdrawal).  So, I started vaping 12mg in the evenings, and switched to 3mg or 6mg about an hour or so before bed.  I slept MUCH better through the night, which also meant that I was able to achieve the same "rest" in fewer hours.  Now, 5 or 6 hours of sleep feels better than what I was getting in 8!

Also, your hydration level is paramount to a good sleep, too... be sure you are drinking enough water, especially before going to bed!

my method might not work for everybody,, a higher nic level can/will upset your stomach
if a particular method doesnt work after a couple of nights change it up a little & try again...

Hello everyone, never wanted to quit smoking (liked them too much) but due to other loved one's around me and knowing that one day they would probably get me, I went to a vape shop and started vaping, haven't picked up a cig in a year, has really been no problem for me (amazing since I smoked so much) can still be around smokers and I don't crave one, the smoke dosen't even bother me, still get to smoke without all the bad stuff in it. Started at 24mg and am now down to 9m. My question is what do y'all think about all the media hype on how it is just as bad as cigs for you, I don't believe it because I breath better and quit coughing about a week after I started!!

Well, I had to take a break from work to give everyone an update...

I tracked him down this morning and handed him the "box"... he sighed heavily and said, "I guess it was too far gone, huh?"

I smiled, and opened the box, and showed him the "clean" Russian, and began to explain that I was giving it back to him because there was NOTHING wrong with it (aside from the idiot that sold it to him). He tried to be nice and insist that I keep it anyway, but I told him that I couldn't do that to him (or anyone for that matter)... He had been taken advantage of once already, and there was no reason why he shouldn't ENJOY his purchase, to the fullest extent possible!

I took it apart and showed him how parts are supposed to fit, how the coil was built and mounted, etc. I then educated him on using an Ohm meter (showed him how with mine), how to dry-burn the coil (and look for inside-out glow), how to tweak the coil if it gets bent during re-wicking... how to wick it, re-assemble, and how to properly fill (from the bottom).

He was so excited to see it properly built, and insisted that we fill it and "take a break" so he could try it out

BTW, Comp, he loved your PBFB, and I gave him your website so he can order more

He had bought that RTA about a year ago, and it had been sitting in the box (slowly leaking juice) since the day after he bought it Now, he has a fully functional, authentic RTA... and hopefully he's a little more educated as well

On Tuesday, I was vaping outside work and one of my co-workers noticed my gear and struck up a conversation. He realized I was using a Russian 91% and mentioned that he had one that was "junk", and wanted to know if I could use it for parts. Hey, free is free, so I said "sure"... he brought it to me yesterday... in the original box, unopened accessories, and leaking juice like crazy .

Last night, I was taking it apart for cleaning, and quickly realized exactly WHY it was such a horrible RTA for him

He normally uses KPT2's/Nautilus on a Mech-mod or Vamo, and some shop in/near Lexington, KY talked him into buying it (obviously to make a sale of a $139 RTA)... and this is what the shop built for him... with cotton piled-high around the coil, packed in the chimney!

I checked the resistance, and it's a 0.7 Ohm coil... on an RTA where builds are best in the 1.2-1.8 Ohm range (yes, the upper deck is scorched and insulator slightly melted - yes, it is wrapped around the air-hole). I honestly don't see how this thing could to anything but make the deck hot and leak like screen-doors on a submarine

I cleaned it up last night, and tonight I'm going to build it RIGHT @ 1.4-1.6 Ohms and organic Japanese cotton... and offer it back to him tomorrow... after-all, it's not his fault the shop is ran/staffed by idiots....

I just got a vv VW box mod. 2600mah and it also charges other usb devices. Pretty cool. Now I just need a better atomizer and find out best voltage and wattage. Goes to 20 watts, but the only atomizer I have is a Nautilus Aspire that just has a bad taste since I used crappy liquid.

    My doctor endorses vaping...

He even lets his nurses (former smokers) vape in the office, as long as it's not in the room with a patient or in the reception/lobby area.

My health, in the past year, has greatly improved, even my seasonal allergies are lessened... and I did not get the Flu or Pneumonia this past winter (like usual)! I honestly think if I had not started vaping when I did, I would have been destined to pulling a trolley with an Oxygen bottle within the next 10 years! Today, I enjoy (again) my outdoor activities of hiking, camping, canoeing, and even played a little soccer back in the fall with my sons... and I didn't have to stop every 3 min and catch my breath or tell them to "keep playing without me" while I lit-up...

I sent the following email to the article's author - Samantha Galvez - Email

You really should check your facts before putting out a story like this. The formaldehyde angle (from The New England Journal of Medicine) was debunked literally moments after it was claimed. As a former smoker and veteran vaper (3 years now), I can tell you that, according to my doctor, my health has increased dramatically since making the switch, so I ask you, would you rather me continue to smoke cigarettes? If you want to make the point that vaping is bad for your health, you should try to find evidence that e-cigs have caused health problems...I dare you. Your article is now showing up on the vape forums as the biggest joke (junk) story of the year.

After vaping on and off for a couple years now and still smoking a few cigarettes this current attempt, I have now reached my first milestone. I've gone over 24 hours and not a single cigarette. This may finally be it for me and I'm pretty excited I think I finally found the right type of setup and vv/vw has been my game changer. Very happy right now and just wanted to share.

Get a Britta filter or pitcher. It removes a lot of the tap water taste and you will grow to like it. I used to drink about 4 large coffee's a day with Pepsi in between. Since I have been vaping and lost my sense of taste due to being dehydrated once in 5 months, I switched to strictly water and have never felt better.

Vaping and caffeine dehydrate you. Water is great. You could mix it up with flavored sparkling water.

Well you really can't mess up at this. Worse thing might be burning up a coil or something. You will be an expert in no time!

I usually start at the lowest wattage setting and work my way up. You can do the same on voltage setting. You will know when it gets too high, either the vape will get too warm or the juice will start tasting burnt. I usually start on wattage and go up in 1 watt increments then once I find a spot that is close, fine tune as necessary.

    Hope this helps!

stangmama77 reacted to Earthling789 in Proven - Nicotine NOT the addictive component
Following a few article links, which started with this one about a town in MA which plans to ban sales all tobacco and related products (including e-cigs) because of the devil called Nicotine... , I ran across this one from Discovery Magazine, touting the medical benefits of Nicotine for Parkinson's Disease, Tourette’s and schizophrenia.

But, the interesting portion of the article was independent research buried within, proving that Nicotine (alone) is NOT the addictive component of cigarettes (cigars, etc.), and alluding to the fact that Big-Tobacco, researchers, and our government have known this for decades, despite their demonizing of Nicotine publicly!

If Nicotine were so addictive and deadly, do you think we'd be able to buy it from any corner-drug-store, or in bulk on the Internet? Try buying Morphine without a prescription or FDA license.... You can't even buy Lidocaine (Cocaine derivative used as an anesthetic by dentists all over the world) over-the-counter without a prescription or FDA license (in strengths greater than 0.5% - and usually only in first-aid sprays or ointments)!

Saying Nicotine is the evil, addictive component of smoking, IMO, is like saying that motor oil is the addictive component that forces people to drive, and thus the leading (evil) cause of vehicle accidents and vehicle related deaths.

I am too old to even remember yesterday but having smoked for 50 years and getting away with it healthwise - hopefully - I still cannot believe that I have stopped - I smoke my ecig the same way as I smoked a cigarette and the first draw of nicotine in the morning is awesome I have learned that smoking a real cigarette is the most wasteful way of getting nicotine - and it took me 50 years to find out
