  1. That's one I haven't thought of for a while, ah...Vermouth I kind of woke up thinking about some old stuff in my life, and this just slide in. Also, was having dinner the other night and happened to notice a young bartender searching franticly in a Mr. Boston for a drink recipe. Almost went over to help, but got "The Look" from SWMBO. And...of all the things that makes me really want a cig, it's a well made cocktail. But, I have fought off the urge so far.
  2. Now that summer is heading our way and with the success of " Mad Men ", some of the older cocktails are being discussed more it seems. Being just a tad bit old, the Old Fashioned was introduced to me some 40 years ago when I was a 'Bar Back' as a part-time job. The Bartender ( a professional who wore a vest, not just someone waiting for another job to open up for them...) showed me why you had to use a sugar cube, bitters and how to muddle. Still one of the best drinks to enjoy on a nice summer evening. A while back, discovered using caramelized sugar and this makes for a nice change of pace. ( kind of like coil building, you make your own syrup ) Anyone else enjoy a Manhattan, Old Fashioned, Rob Roy, Martini, etc.?
  3. Good call, Earthling. Back when I first started to rebuild coils, my friend gave me a list of 'nice' to have equipment for the process. One of them was a blunt needle syringe. When I got to kayfuns and russians I found out why. No fuss, No mess.
  4. Understand completely, Adversarious1. "Life is something that happens to you while you're making other plans" Maybe I will also apply my education, now that I have all this free time. The Military taught me such things as Honor...Discipline. College taught me an orderly way to think.
  5. Welcome, good on ya for staying off the cigs for that long. I try to keep up with all the new things hitting the market, enjoy what others have to say about how they perform. Not sure I'll give up what works for me for something new, but the technology is really giving us great choices. I've given away most of my start-up equipment to new vapers, but the Mini Davide will always have a fresh, recoiled head just waiting.
  6. I am working real hard to get and stay at 0 nic for a time, then quit Vaping completely. A shoutout to JohnnyFog who got me thinking more and more about making this move. Looking forward to the day I can 'gift' my equipment to the next start up vaper and move on. But hey, that's just me.
  7. My local had a Butterscotch house blend that tasted great at the counter testing it, but was BAD when I got home. A friend bought the same flavor with lower nic and said it was the worst he had ever tasted. On my last visit there, saw it in the discount, discontinued shelf. Guess we were right. Speaking of juice, time to make my weekly walk to the B&M for supplies. $2.00 off Tuesday. Love the juice, but also miss talking to the people there. I am the kindly, white haired guy who must be tolerated...lol
  8. Thanks shen_long86 for the info. I think the reason I was intrigued with the LPG was the recessed atomizer chamber. And the price. About 8 bucks on FT.
  9. Speaking of stealth vaping, I saw some pictures of the LPG 18350 MOD. Looks pretty cool. Hybrid connection, recessed bottom switch, 56mm high, but has a recessed chamber for a 22mm atty to slide in. Since I have a bunch of 18350 batteries sitting around, thought this might work. Thinking about dropping in the kayfun with a nano kit.
  10. +1 for the Jam ( single or dual coils, nice deck ) +1 for the Russian ( what can I say, deep juice channels, smooth vape ) My go-to duo
  11. Mixing 80% Guava and 20% Vanilla for my tanks. Full on Guava ( drip blend ) for my RDA
  12. Saw a Copper Nemesis on FT in the morning and by the next day, SOLD OUT! Wanted the red tube set for the Nemesis...SOLD OUT. Same with most of the other colored tube sets. For a dying breed, they sure are selling well.
  13. Yes Ma'am, still out there. And the Festival takes place in Bell Buckle, Tennessee. Lots of fun.
  14. Welcome! See you are from Tenn also. Was thinking just the other day about the MoonPie and RC Festival this June. Ah, Food of the Gods And for those who have always wondered... Anyways, glad you made it to the site.
  15. A friend has a 14500 Nemi and runs a Taifun GS on it. Borrowed the GS for a week and it is a winner. Stainless Steel mesh wicking. Still kick myself when Fasttech sold them, and didn't pull the trigger.
  16. But...But...What About the Apocalypse??? When the simple mech will be the only reliable system left. Nemi's used like money! I Jest. I save back one battery with a 3.7v charge for my first morning vape in my Nemesis. 1.5 ohms = 9 watts. Then I put in a fresh battery. Could use a Kick, but where's the Fun in that!
  17. Not about Pickles...but in 1974, while stationed on a small Island on the Aleutian chain, we found a few cans of Budweiser from a barge that had run aground years before. No pull tab, had to use a 'church key'. Not sure how old they were from the taste because it was a Bud; so how would I know if it had 'turned'...lol
  18. I use this when I need to keep it on a low level. Hornet RDA clone ( 510 ) and small ego battery. Run a single 1.5 ohm coil so it works on the ego.
  19. Convinced that making the switch from the Evod tank to the Mini Davide got me through my hardest period of quitting. Not sure why, but with the same evod coil head, the Mini just moved things to a nicer level. Also, the evod coils got me into rebuilding, learning about kanthal and cotton. Thought that if I could rebuild those small things, a Kayfun would be a walk in the park. Keep at it Reasoned, it gets better.
  20. " Simple will prevail. Direct line from Power to Blissful Vape. Dwell Not in the Land of Sub. You will NOT be judged for your lapse into the Dark Side..." ( Except you will owe us some Shrubbery ) - The Knights that say 'MECH'
  21. Well, it should soften up them croutons...
  22. One Year Today. Just a personal goal; a milestone for a long time smoker. Realize that I haven't been on this site for very long. When a person makes the decision to quit, they sometimes reach out for support and help from family and friends. They also might jump on the internet and do a search for a forum to gain some help understanding this thing called Vaping. Just wanted to say that this site is always ready to help in a friendly way. My thanks to those who take the time to answer questions that they may have heard 1,000's of times before. They remember when they started. Happy with my gear so won't be getting something new to celebrate, but I will have a smile all day.
  23. My youngest has my guitar right now, since he plays more than me. Nice thing about living in 'NashVegas' is the pawn shops. Shame that some people still move here to make it BIG, then hock their instruments. Have wanted one of these for 50 years, ever since I saw one on the back of a Ventures album. Someday, I should get a copy. Just something a Junior High kid would dream about back in the 60's...
  24. Someday I might move to the 'Dark Side'; having too much fun with the Russians and such right now. I even set up for a Stainless drilling party, but didn't need it. Cleaned the drill press up, cleared the work bench and found all kinds of 'missing' stuff, so not a total waste of time!
