Bump when you get something in vape mail.
Earthling789 replied to Tam's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Received my Kayfun V4 today, and it hardly looks like a clone... All the paperwork, logos, even the seal on the box would lead you to believe it is 100% authentic... although one sloppy attention to detail from the factory... the Svoemesto-logo center of the tank was assembled upside-down -
Well, I exhausted my supply of BDC for my Nautilus. All of them lasted through 30+ ml of juice, and could have probably gone longer, but they started getting tight on their draw. Only one had a minor flooding issue, once, and it was probably due to a drastic temperature change. Now that I've been running BVC in my Nautilus, the flooding happens every day. Any time my tank sits unused for more than 6 hours (overnight), the coil floods and gurgles. Cleaning the base, blowing out the coil, etc. has fixed the issue for the immediate moment, but it just happens again and again. The BVC have not seen any temperature changes, either... not even left the same room of my house.... Using a higher Wattage helps a little to "clear/lessen" the gurgling, but sitting for hours means zero power applied to burn off the excess, so flooding occurs. I don't think there is an issue with leakage around the upper tube-threading, because they tend to stick in the center-tube when the base is removed, although not nearly as badly as the BDC do. I also don't believe there is an issue with my juice because I've used the same 50/50 juice in my Nautilus for both style coils. I honestly believe the wick material is too thin or too loosely packed on the BVC.... Oh, and I've tried BVC from two different packages, one from Sweet-vapes, one from V|T store... both sets of BVC leak over time.... With a tank that costs twice as much as an AeroTank, and coils that run $2.50 each... I expect better performance....not coils that leak/waste expensive juice. My AeroTanks have nearly the same flavor, at less cost to operate... maybe I have a bad Nautilus (even though it showed authentic, and came from a reputable supplier)? At this moment in time, I'm thinking real hard about cleaning my Nautilus and giving it a time-out on the rack (in the corner, in the dark, with no TV privileges) until it decides to cooperate

Coil Winding Tools!

$2.69 each or < $7 for the set... it was a no-brainer to me, too -
Coil Winding Tools!
Earthling789 replied to Earthling789's topic in Share the Latest Vaping Products
I've been coiling my Russians on a 2.25mm or 2.5mm rod. Both work well, depending on the gauge wire you use. My current set-up is 28ga, coiled on 2.25mm rod to hit 1.4 Ohms (using organic Japanese cotton). Seems to be the sweet-spot for the single-coil Russian 91% -

Thanks for the heads-up on Fasttech... I just ordered the Kuro 3-pack for < $7, and added in a couple of other odds-n-ends I needed for spare parts... I may have to wait for them, but it's better than $60 for the set -
BTW, I just placed an order with FastTech for Kuro Koilers, and tossed in a 5-pack of eGo/510 connectors (Joyetech-style) for an additional $3 If you place any orders through them in the future, adding a 5-pack is cheap insurance for having a usable connection that is cheap enough to lose or give away.

Istick fans(50w preorder)
Earthling789 replied to joejoevapekins's topic in Share the Latest Vaping Products
Agreed... never say never I'm far from battery-poor at the moment... a pair of iSticks, IPV-min, mech-mods, MVP, couple of eGo-T's, and a dozen 18650's... I'm good on power (at least for a few days, lol)! -
Yes, don't seat it so firmly... I've not tried another connector, yet. I have one of the Joyetech ones somewhere... might have to dig it up? When I got the "no atty" message, I tried lifting the center pin and the AeroTank worked just fine after that.

Earthling789 replied to joejoevapekins's topic in Share the Latest Vaping Products
I agree, the capacity is probably the biggest selling point. I could probably get 3 days out of a charge... at least two... I have noticed one thing about the iSticks, though... once the battery goes below 1/2 full, the second half drops fast... like the gas gauge on my old truck -

I like the capacity and size... just wish the up/down buttons weren't at the top, where I'd end up pushing them with the palm of my hand... I'd also like them better if they were ~ $40 instead of $50 -
I use Tapatalk for notifications and quick-reads of threads... When I use it to respond, things go wonky

Tam, I had the same issue with my newest one... the dreaded "no atomizer" message. I had this happen when I switched from the eGo adapter to a KPT2, then to an AeroTank... the AeroTank would not recognize. Just like the issues with the MVP center post, I had to pry (lift) the center post up just a tad, and it worked again. I think that is the main problem anybody has with these non-spring-loaded center posts PS - The supplied eGo / 510 connector short out if you screw a KPT2-mini or similar too tightly. I've had two KPT3-mini's say "atomizer short" if firmly seated on the connector.

I just saw the Infinite V4 Kayfun on Fasttech... So, it hasn't taken the rest very long to catch-up on the cloning process....

Mine was logged into the local USPS office this evening, so it should be delivered tomorrow I won't get to unbox it until after 5pm, but as soon as I get it cleaned, dried, and coils mounted, I plan to give it a good workout. Look for a review later this weekend....

Ok battery gurus....need some help
Earthling789 replied to joejoevapekins's topic in General Vaping Discussion
When I was looking for batteries a few weeks ago, I ran across those mxjo batteries. Something in the back of my head told me to back away slowly so nobody got hurt I, too, thought they looked suspicious, and the claim of 35A (and one guy at the B&M said they "easily handled 60A", but he was probably unable to tie his shoes without help) just seemed too good to be true. I opted to purchase Samsung 25r's, but if I hadn't found those on sale, I would have bought more Sony VTC4's. I don't trust the VTC5's, because technically they don't exist (according to Sony), because Sony didn't make them... they were contracted by other manufacturers and all have wildly different specs. -
Aspire Nautilus Mini - Hard to Disassemble?
Earthling789 replied to JohnnyFog's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
I bet you're on to something there... Now that I think about it, every time I have one stick is because I've been using the tank for a while. I'm willing to bet heat has expanded the metal of the coil, causing it to bind with the metal/threads of the center tube.... Next time I refill, I'll let it sit for a while to cool down, and then see if the coil sticks as badly. -
Aspire Nautilus Mini - Hard to Disassemble?
Earthling789 replied to JohnnyFog's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
I don't know about the mini, but my full-size is on my last nerve with having to use a pry-bar and bolt-cutters to get the coils out of the center-tube... The base comes off easy, but the coil always gets stuck -

Gotta love the Chinese capacity to clone something good/popular (and sometimes do it better), practically overnight, and sell it for pennies on the dollar of the authentic -
Anyone have issues with the Nitecore D2 charger?
Earthling789 replied to fishguy1123's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I have two of the i4 chargers... one is about 6-months old, and the other is a couple of years old... Both are flawless chargers, and my only complaint is that bay-4 on the newest one sometimes has the negative contact "stick". Nothing that a little lube won't fix, though... I almost bought a D4, but some of the reviews I read said the same thing you've said about intermittent function, and that they try to charge "ghosts". For that reason (and the higher price of the D4), I went with another i4. I hope your replacement functions perfectly.... -
Did the profile picture give you a clue?
-
Tam, if you've ever lost your keys or your lighter (and they were still in your purse or pocket)... you'd lose the iStick mini in a heartbeat, lol. They're barely bigger than a couple of mini-Bic lighters taped together... I agree with Joe, though... a perfect stealth-vape (if you don't lose it), but personally I think I'd have a hard time holding it in my hand... I think the 20W is tiny enough! Edit: Wow, I just looked at the price from Sweet-Vapes... That's roughly the price I paid for my 20W iSticks... you'd think they would be cheaper?

I just received an 8-pack of plastic cases for 18650 batteries. Now I have spares and color-coding for my extra batteries. -
One of my favorite dripping juices is Krankberry from my local B&M. It is a Cranberry and Raspberry mix (30/70 PG/VG). It is sweet, tart, but not overpowering, and leaves a great aftertaste in the back of your throat and nose... it is very very good stuff! I've ran it in a tank before, and the flavor is sweeter in a tank, but still delicious!
-
Blends are listed in percentage, PG is the first number, VG is the second (unless otherwise noted). PG is the flavor carrier, and also provides throat-hit. Higher PG juice tend to have more flavor and more throat hit. VG is the vapor producer (and very sweet). Higher VG juices produce more vapor and are very smooth. Juices that are 80/20 will have more flavor, thinner, and less vapor Juices that are 30/70 will have slightly muted flavor, better vapor, and may be too thick to wick in some tanks The 60/40 juice you ordered will be just fine in your Kanger tank, because it is 60% PG and 40% VG... not thick, not a harsh throat-hit, and should have good flavor (depending on the juice manufacturer). Yes, that is one of my bikes... '85 Shadow VT700, fully restored classic My daily ride is an '02 Sabre, full-dress, and I also have a '99 CB750 NightHawk Tour. I've got a couple more on the plate to restore, but not until the weather gets better... Here's an older pic of my stable
