  1. Look around and find sites listing all the crap in cigarettes then lookup at what's in ecig juice. Should be able decide for yourself. Speaking for myself, vaping a much better way to go.
  2. Don't know exactly, but over 50 years. Started way too early, but it's never too late to quit. Put nasties down the same day I bought my setup - Apr, '13 - and haven't looked back. Made a lot of people happy that day.
  3. Tired of charging? Not on my radar of things to worry about. Know one thing, tho..... sure beats the other activity I left behind when i bought my first setup. So, I guess I don't mind, afterall.
  4. This whole discussion is probably going to prove worthless in the future, anyway. I expect Big Tobacco will figure some way to demonize the Chinese products and "lobby" congress to force them out of the market so BT can keep on screwing everybody's brains out. The days of quitting tobacco with inexpencive entry level equipment are more than likely numbered. I'm not going to even pretend to know the Chinese manufacturers'/suppliers' mindset, but I would imagine them to be every bit the capitalist as the next person and aren't going to be very happy about being pushed aside without a fight. I can't see them just tossing in the towel and saying "oh, well".
  5. Yowza!! Way to go, guy. Convince yourself it's going to work and trust your equipment to get you over the hump and you're on your way to success. It does get easier every day if you WANT it to......trust your equipment.
  6. I could be way off base, but I can't imagine China just sitting back and doing nothing and allowing the e-cig business to get hammered into oblivion.. There's way too much money on China's side of this issue. Juice regulation I can forsee, but the equipment side is going to be quite an uphill battle.
  7. One more Justification for a page dedicated to testimonials.
  8. Yeah, we got everybody asleep now. Right where we want em. Next week ..... Plan B.
  9. Want some more advice? If you want to be really committed to stop contributing to Big Tobacco's pocket ........ BACKUPS.
  10. What??!! No Tampa Bay? They're on a roll.
  11. Yep, backups are an essential part of getting off the BT bandwagon. Seems a bit costly at first till you learn the hard way.
  12. Couldn't tell ya. I don't boil mine, either, just know the reasoning behind it. Actually, I'm not the one to be asking about safety since I'm the one you see riding a bike w/o a helmet, occasionally ride around w/o my seatbelt, eat stuff I drop and pick up, and, oh yeah, I've been known to run with scissors, too. I figure any critters on a 6mm piece of yarn won't make it through the heating process, and there probably isn't enough chemical residue on that 6mm piece to hurt me any more than the rest of the crap provided by Big Tobacco I've inhaled over the years, either. But that's just me thinking out loud. You do as you think best for you.
  13. A suggested safety step. No telling where it's been, who's been handling it, or if there are any stray chemicals left on it. Original intent of any cotton whether it be a ball of yarn, or wads of cotton isn't for heating and inhaling what comes off of it, so, boiling is a step for your/our safety.
  14. You mean we won't have to be relegated to the leper colony on the Group W bench with jonnoh, anymore? Don't think I'll live to see that day, but sure is nice to think about.
  15. BINGO!!, Comp. If anyone truly thinks any govt. is interested in killing their cash cow, they may ant to take a peek at this. Just add 3 zeros to each number listed. http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/taxfacts/displayafact.cfm?Docid=403
  16. My friends, in the strictest sense of the word(s), and in the eyes of the smoke nazis and the uninformed, we are still "smokers"......and drug addicts, too,. In my opinion, it is imperative that the public be informed and educated as to the benefits of electronic cigarettes before anything positive is accepted by the general public and vaping becomes as acceptable as sitting around having a beer, glass of wine, or shot of your favorite adult beverage. There seems to be quite a bit of positive information about e-cigs being better than Big Tobacco's witches brew, but the media seems intent on burying anything positive. Why? Not hard to figure it out...... money talks. But, the word is spreading. Much slower than I, and possibly you, would like, but the e-cig is gaining ground.... at a snails' pace. According to an article in my local newspaper today, the CDC says e-cig use by high schoolers has tripled over the last three years. Is this good or bad news? Depends on how you interpret it. Also in the article it is said that about 23 percent of them used some sort of tobacco product. If the e-cig gets them away from cigarettes and such, then the triple useage increase figure is positive......which is how I interpret the article. Of course, one could say I'm biased since the e-cig has - in one day - taken me away from a 50+ year cigarette addiction, and taken away my small contribution to the well being of Big Tobacco. Don't be beating youself up about vaping being a "cop-out" or anything else. It is what it is ......a much better/healthier alternative to stinkies, a much easier path to finally kicking BT out of your life, and "fun", too, so stay on track and enjoy. Don't let yourself be bothered by anything anyone else has to say. I can't honestly say I "like" vaping, and am having fun, but I do, very much, prefer it to anything else I've tried....as does my wife and non-smoker friends. I've added my 2 cents worth to this so I'll shove my soapbox back under the bed and keep on vapn'. Oh yeah, saw a guy wearing a T-shirt that says "DUDE, It's Only Vapor". Didn't get a chance to talk to him, but, I want one.
  17. Wasn't referring to a label on the box. Some Grannies (and some other people I've encountered lately) need a great big warning label pasted on them.
  18. Guess it's a waste of time to expect warning labels for out-of-touch grannies.
  19. Bet ya didn't point and laugh, did ya? He doesn't have to worry about someone walking off with his gear at the biker bar, either.
  20. I ain't no lady, but here's my 2 cent's worth, anyhow. Been using eGo / EVOD setup for quite a while. Don't use variable batts since i'd always be using the highest setting anyway, so what's the use? My goal was to leave tobacco behind and this setup has performed quite nicely. Not in a fashion show, and not interested in what "the other guy" has. I'm guessing here, but I assume your tough little sweetie has the mindset of if you don't like it, don't look at it. Seems you might be the next butt-kikkin victim if you pick wrong for her. Choose wisely, grasshopper.
  21. There are plenty here who will tell you it certainly does help a person quit smoking. In my opinion, it is the best avenue for leaving cigarettes behind.
  22. Purple ...... green ..... sky-blue-pink ........have at it.
  23. Oh, Yeah, I can see it now. The year is 2035, The auctioneer starts out with "Now we have lot #(whatever). A fine vintage 2009 juice made by Fadora with all natural ingredients. What am I bid, yadda yadda yadda". The bidding climbs higher and higher with E-Juice connisouers from all corners of the country battling it out. The auction ending with a winning bid of $5000 for this rare vintage naturally flavored juice. Might be witnessing the ground floor of a vintage juice craze. Now ya gotta design a line of primo juices, a fancy schmancy label, a juice cellar, an investment club, etc, etc. Man, I'm gonna get rich........If I live that long.
