  1. Guilty (of the former) as charged. The iPhone was unscathed.
  2. Leave it to me to outshine my own previous stupidity! So I head into the bathroom, armed with the iPhone and my PV (don't judge me - with 3 kids it's the only peaceful place in the house lol). As I'm settling into "the position" with the PV in my mouth and the phone in hand... Crash! There I am, in all my glory... the Kanger drip tip still in my teeth, a broken tank laying in its own juice on the tile floor, and my pants around my ankles. "One of those days" indeed.
  3. The appeal is that I hadn't had one to play with lol! My KPT2's aren't going anywhere.
  4. My humble collection thus far. I might be noticing a pattern here lol!
  5. Just opened up my new Kanger Unitank. Bottom feed, top fill, drip tip... I'm intrigued! Most noticeable: tank appears to be plastic, not Pyrex. Not sure if that's good or bad... I guess time will tell lol!
  6. Just sent my first order for IMEDIC's juice through his new website! Well done, Matt!
  7. http://www.philly.com/philly/opinion/20130922_The_Pulse__A_positive_whiff_of_e-cigs.html It was nice to see some objective op-ed writing for a change, however the author loses me at the end. Let me get this straight: If someone continues to use cigarettes after trying vapor, that makes vapor the culprit?! pffft.
  8. Sounds like a leap of faith for your buddy's first setup. A friend of mine (my first and only convert) borrowed an eGo C-twist with a mini ProTank and loved it, in part due to its low-profile (we all wanted it to look like a cigarette at first, right?). Even with that setup, the variable voltage seemed to intimidate him. I started with Blu's and despite wasting a TON of money at first, it still may be the way to go if someone's not completely sold on the idea of going to vapor. Now, if I could just get my friend to get his own setup so I can get my gear back... -K
  9. I have three 1300mah spinners in constant rotation, and I can't say a bad thing about them! $28 at WordUp. You might find them cheaper, but Laurin @ WordUp is nothing short of awesome as a vendor. Free shipping; and always use code "ECIG" at checkout for 5% discount. Cheers, K
  10. I agree with many previous posters... I cringe at the thought of all the money I spent in my "startup Phase"! Now that I've got my basics covered, I'm not concerned about my spending at all. Analogs are $6-$7 a pack here in Philly, so I'm still coming out ahead. That being said, anyone in the market for gently used BLU supplies? (LOL)
  11. Phil Bustardo has a knack for giving good starter info without getting too technical. I found his site and vids very helpful when starting out. http://tasteyourjuice.com/wordpress/new-to-vaping/
  12. The linked article was included in a press release earlier today by my employer (The Hospital of The University of Pennsylvania). I found the arguments presented in the reader comments interesting... The Ambiguous Allure of the E-Cig In a recent “Room for Debate” in the New York Times, experts weighed in the latest trend of e-cigarettes. Andrew Strasser, MD, associate professor in the department of Psychiatry and director of its Biobehavioral Smoking Laboratory, penned a piece, arguing for more research and regulation. Not all smokers are alike and therefore will respond differently to e-cigarettes, he writes, and there is a paucity of research on how individuals actually use them and if there are any risks or benefits. “Production standards must be enforced so that consumers can be properly informed of the amount of nicotine and other constituents present,” he writes.” Until we have a sense of how the public will actually use the product we must carefully and continually monitor this emerging health issue.”
  13. WordUp really has become my "go-to" for batteries & clearos. Their selection seems to be a bit limited, but I use KPT's and Spinners, so it hasn't been an issue for me. Laurin is responsive, helpful, and friendly! Shipping is fast and FREE! I've yet to try out their juice, but I definitely plan to in the near future. These guys clearly value customer service. I will continue to make WordUp my first online stop for supplies, and recommend them to anyone!
  14. My thoughts exactly. My kids have never seen me vape (nor did they ever see me smoke, they just told me how bad I smelled). I'll vape proudly when in adult company, but the last thing I want to do is glorify the act to anyone impressionable.
  15. Make it a "GNO"! lol In my humble opinion, that's the real beauty of having a shop in your area - actually getting your hands on gear and juice before you spend your money! From what I see on this forum, many vapers aren't as fortunate to have a b&m ("brick and mortar") shop nearby, so I'd definitely recommend taking advantage of it. When you find something you like, just go for small quantities until you dial-in what strength and base suits your taste. After you've got those basics figured out, you'll find it MUCH cheaper to buy online. There's also a lot of great info here regarding what online vendors have the best service. Best of luck!! P.S. - If you're only a month off of analogs, your sense of taste is changing (improving), and will be for some time. Don't be surprised if you find that your flavor preferences differ a few months from now than what they are today.
  16. Hello & welcome! I think pretty much anyone here will agree that juice preference is really a personal thing. With so many flavors, strengths, and base ratios available, it's really hard to "recommend" juice, since you might gag on a bottle that someone else finds delicious. You mentioned a "vape shop" in your post; If they make or sell juice there (chances are they do), you should be able to sample different flavors right there before you buy anything. My experience is that you're going to pay more for juice in an actual store, but it should be a good place for you to figure out what you like before exploring different vendors online. Cheers, K
  17. I say drink plenty of fluid and get off the narcs entirely. You should send me all your surplus meds (you know, just to be safe). lol
  18. Do most policies specify that nicotine is what is being tested for? I've heard Nic can be found in some foods, I wonder if some insurers test specifically for tobacco?
  19. I dropped my KPT2 and it immediately started leaking right where the pyrex tank meets the metal mouthpiece. I still have it, and to this day, I swear I can not find ANY visible damage. I can only assume I compromised whatever is used to seal the top of the tank. Just food for thought; she may have jolted it in just the wrong place and killed the seal.
  20. Welcome aboard! Good peeps here.
  21. No worries, eogc! I don't think you'll be disappointed - I loooove my spinners!
