I hate to say it, but your friend might have a mild case of COPD or other problem that was "ignored" before now. I know I coughed like a son of a gun when I first switched over... had to take itty bitty puffs, hold it, let a bit out, inhale, then exhale. But I worked it baby and it didn't take long before I could handle an almost normal puff. A week or so after that I noticed my nightly wheezing had stopped, I could walk up hill without having to stop to rest as often, and so much more. It wouldn't hurt to get checked... besides that, the health improvements will be "officially on record" too. Lots of ex-smokers with COPD are now appointment free, with shocked Dr.'s fainted on floors. Stopping the smoking is paramount and if Vaping is the only way that it can be conquered, then don't give up!

Sweeeet!!!! Which one did you get? Ice-Matt? Polished? Matt? .... I have the polished, love it to pieces. They even sent me a Matt battery Cap and Matt Kick Extension for Christmas surprise present this year. Blew me away!!! I hope to purchase the IM before the year ends, for a backup. My new D-16 is in da house!! (Temon D-16 Genesis Atomizer from MMVapors.com).

If those work anything like our atomizers, they must go through a pen a puff if they're adding nono's to it. The saddest part is... perhaps those kids have found a way out of the Big Pharma box. For instance, ADD pills (legalized SPEED for heaven'ts sakes) leads to severe health problems down the road. Hooka-ing or vaping a safer alternative medication at a young age is frowned upon. The politicians have Big Pharma's backs, that's all there is to it. From stop smoking pills, gums, to Khemo therapy later on... from ADD and other health problems to the Cure for the Cure for the Cure .... I could go on and on. Politics sucks.

It never hurts to have a few pkgs of prefilled cartos at the ready, not only for self on a chaotic day/week, but also for the curious who might want to try out your vape experience to see if it's for them or not before they buy. EcigXpress.com has a nice selection of prefilled cartos. I really like their Honey Flu Cured Tobacco n the prefilled, but you might detest it, we are all such different individuals! They have a nice line of tasty juices too. They also sell the liquid for refills. Refills are easy to do. I use to refill all my empties once a week while watching a tv show. (I hardly ever use carto's anymore, have moved on to other delivery systems, but I would still do it this way if I still did it). Good luck! Oh! and just remember that sometimes, the prefilled cartos will last 3-6 hours, and sometimes they only last an hour. You'll need backups for your backups.

The important thing to remember, is to make sure your battery (or mod's battery) can handle the amps pulled. Not all batteries are the same.

There are a ton of new VV and VV/VW mods out on the market today. I can't keep up with them. Some of the more popular (affordable) ones are the Vamo V2, the Tesla, the Evic, and so on. I have the Vamo V2, and it's okay, but the settings aren't lockable like the old original LT were but the Tesla has the locking settings and a super easy menu. (but the menu button placement is annoying). And my 510 connection needs to be gently lifted often in order to make a solid connection. I agree with Tams, the Vision Spinner is great, and is super affordable at that. It hits just as hard, if not harder than most "mods" out there. It does take a long time to charge though, so be sure you have at least 2... you know the drill. The Provari is still King of the high end VV mods. There are now DNA20 kick mods out there now too. (usually box form). (quite a bit more power than the old DNA12). I would pick up the Vision Spinners and contentedly vape while researching all the new mods out there that tickle your fancy.

Crazy is right! For me, 0.8 is the lowest I'm comfortable with, and that's, of course, only with a newer battery that can handle that. Overall, I try to keep mine around 1.2... plenty hot enough for instant sizzle and I can handle the vapor amounts without waste of juice to make the wasted vapor. To each their own though, of course.

If I can do it, anybody can do it. Trust me.

Podcast: http://www.kqed.org/a/forum/R201305310930 Guests: Ellen Corbett, state senator representing District 10 Michael Siegel, Professor of Community Health Sciences, Boston University School of Public Health Stanton Glantz, professor in the Division of Cardiology at the UCSF School of Medicine A special thanks to Dr. Seigel for his time, patience (wow!!! tons of patience, I must say! Personally, I would decked both Stoopid and Stewpidder with their first words, let alone with the narcissistic innteruptions). for his facts, and for trying so hard to get the truth out. We love you Dr. Seigel, keep up the good work!! Also, a special thanks to the host, Judy Campbell for her logical questions and for trying to get to the bottom of it all. Oh, and btw, even though the bill passed the Senate (due to the lies and propaganda), we are being urged to contact our Assemblypersons. Don't give up!!!!

Headsup!! If you prepare your wick the non-oxidized way by only pulsating the coil, you'll need a fresh battery a few hours off the charger to no lower than 3.8v. The pulsating action takes a lot of juice from the battery. If you oxidize your wick, like I do, you'll want a 3.8-ish battery or the current will be too strong for your new coil and they'll pop easier. Clear as mud?

New At Vaping and Have a ProVari......HELP
Uma replied to AstaDeBlue's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Love your style! You've gone for the top of the line electronic mod first thing, didn't bat an eye. Now it's just a matter of fixing you up with a nicer delivery system. I agree with the others, the Viva Nova V3 or the Kanger Pro Tank. One is tight, one is airy. They are inexpensive, so I recommend getting one of each, the money won't be wasted if you prefer the other. It will still come in handy, trust me. Welcome to VT, btw!!! -
I've always wanted the original Empire Mod, but they're so hard to find in stock. I've heard these are a great substitute, one of the few "cheapies" we can write home about. Those prices with full kits including the case, sweeten the deal even more. I'm tempted!

Congrats!!! Isn't it amazing how vaping replaces those stinkies. I'm really stoked for you for your new life as an ex-smoker. WTG!!!

It wouldn't even give me ohms... just "lo" and nothing. Just an hour ago, I discovered that there is a common problem with vamos. The 510 connector needs to be raised, to make a connection. I should have realized that from my past mods that had similar problems now and then (the Silver Bullet I think). It now reads the OHMS (2.2) and fires like a charm.

Everyone loves the flat ribbon wire. I finally got around to trying mine for the first time. It's been sitting around for a few months now, waiting for me to get off my lazy duff. I usually build my rbas on my old LT, but this time I decided to use my SS Vamo. Another item I've had sitting around for a few months now too, only using once in awhile to check battery status or ohms. I didn't do so well. I spent hours trying to get the Vamo to de "lo" itself, but nada. I couldn't even pulsate the mod, without having to wait 10 seconds between pulses. It wasn't until I finally broke down at got my big arse mod BAM out that everything fell into place. And WOW, it's really nice!!! I'm vaping chocolate mint and it sings. Do I recommend it? YOU BETCHA!!!! Will I do it again? Oh yeh!!! Just not on my Vamo! This morning I ran across a thread by someone else experiencing similar problems with their rba on their vamo. So, heads up. If you can't get it working, change out your mod until you find one that does. It's not the wire/cable/mesh, it's the stoopid mod and dimwit user. I'll try again on another rba on another mod later this week when I can. I'm pretty sure it will go much smoother.

Celebrating our freedom by raising a toast to all the brave soldiers who fought for our freedom! Have fun, stay safe everyone, live to fight our senators another day.
-
I agree with Tams Go with the 1.8. Low volts call for Low resistance. The Lower the number, the lower the resistance or volt or watt.
-
Go HERE to learn how you can fight it.

At least 10 of them had their brains in gear, and I'd like to thank those 10 for trying to talk sense into the rest of them. This is so sad. So very sad. And if I'm not mistaken, isn't that a blatant lie about the metal. Her website says: Latest Press Releases Corbett Bill Protecting Public From E-Cigarette Harm Passes Senate - May 24, 2013 SB 648 Protects Public Health, Reduces Confusion Shouldn't it really be saying: Corbett Bill Murdering Public with Tobacco Cigarettes Passes Senate - May 24, 2013 SB 648

P.S. That mesh will come in handy even for the Cable wick. (we make a shirt collar with it, to assure no air gaps under the coil). And for tried and true wicks. But yeh, me too, looking at 2 huge sheets stashed away in the suitcase. oy! But, it was money well spent, because it will be there when we need it and we might need it sooner and oftener than we realize. Fads are fads...

Check for supplies at Stormy's Cellar, Discount Vapers, Hoosiers, and so forth. I hope you find what you're looking for! That's the biggest problems with the china stuff, finding bits and pieces needed. Be sure to post a link ... oh, better yet, start a Thread here in the RBA section called "Spare Parts" or something and we can post our finds there. Dan! You bet I will! It's had it's boil bath, and is air drying as I type. I'll torch it to remove the excess moisture and particles, and ... get back to ya!
