Tam reacted to Rixter in Bump Everytime You Buy Something New
I would just like to personally thank blucavvy for starting this thread.
This is my favorite thread at VT because it's the place where I can get info on what works and what's being bought.
I can see from the thread count that I'm not alone.
Thanks, blu!

Yeah, with a 901 atty, it's just funny looking, as you can see in the top picture below. The bottom picture is what it should look like with a 306 atty. I say should because I don't have a 306, so I just stuck the Cherry Vapes Universal down inside the cone for the picture.
I did, however, just order an Empire Mods Bridge Free Dual Coil LR306 1.5ohm to use the Universal with (and a Delrin 306 XL Drip Tip just in case the Uni doesn't fit). I've been curious about the dual coil atties for a while now, so I went ahead and got one...damnit! (will this never end?)

From Empire Mods:
2 eGO drip shields
6 various drip tips
Sweet-Vapes (12 mg nic, 50 PG/50 VG):
30 ml... *throws up hands in defeat*
Okay, I have no idea what it was that came this time. This is when I went stark, raving mad and ordered a $***load of juice. I think I got 30 ml glazed blueberry donut, Kona cream, Starbuckets Mocha
15 ml blueberry cinnamon crumble
6 ml: creamy caramel, lemonade
From EC Blend:
30 ml 6 mg 50/50 chocolate malt extra flavor
The Vapor Room: 12 mg 75PG/25VG
30 ml French Toast
30 ml Vanilla Custard
15 ml Vanilla Cupcake 50/50
And the folks at TVR pulled a sneaky thing on me.
They added a sample of their cranberry. Never would've ordered that myself -- even to try it out. Um... so I lost my fight against not buying anything more for awhile and ordered a 30 ml, 12 mg, 75PG/25VG bottle of it. *sighs*
Aaaaand!
We can lay the blame on Blucavvy for the order today: 900 mAh purple Vision Spinner.

This time I'm totally serious about needing an intervention. Any takers?

The whole battle cry of, "I need BACK UPS!!!!" was what made my original arsenal of one eGo battery, two clearomizers and one bottle of juice into the monstrosity of stuff I now have. Mentioning that brick and mortar store in Colorado is not helping, Kit.

Thanks for the heads up, Jeff! I've been searching for a light lavender color to match my eGo 650 for some time now. Couldn't find what they're calling it so I've contacted the owners of the site. Hopefully they'll get back to me soon so I can catch this price.
ETA: Wow. As soon as I posted this I got a reply from Stormy. Now that's some great customer service! Unfortunately they don't have the color I wanted but I'll be buying from them when they get it back in stock.

2 each of lilac and blue: Swirl Ice CE4 mouth piece from GotVapes
These are essentially just color versions of replacement mouth pieces for the CE4 (Vision Stardust). They're much prettier now and I might need to get a few more of their colors. It's so much more fun than just the normal black ones.

Tam reacted to Rixter in Kanger EVOD eGo Clearomizer
I thought it was one the first time that I looked at one, but there seems to be a couple of (improved, I think) design changes.
Unlike the T3/MT3, when you have to change out heads, you just unscrew the head from the base and screw in a new one ($1.50)...cheaper to replace than the T3/MT3's head and base one-piece assembly ($2.99).
Also, the transparent mouthpiece is supposed to be more comfortable than the T3/MT3.
At only 2 ml., the EVOD's capacity is almost ½ ml. less than the T3/MT3, but it still holds almost ½ ml. more than the competition's 1.6 ml. (i.e. eGo V# Clearomizers).
I've got one on the way and I'll post the results once I've had a chance to try to destroy it.

Tam got a reaction from Ursala in Ego C Junk!
If you'll notice the dates this is a fairly old thread. So many new products have come out since then. As far as many of the members of this forum have attested eGo batteries, on the whole, are good, dependable ones. It's the tanks/clearomizers on top that can get finicky.
The T3 and MT3s have been getting a lot of positive reviews. These are "bottom feeders" where the liquid goes through the bottom instead of a wick on top. The Vision Nano is also a bottom feeder that holds only 1 ml of juice. I've had the best of luck with all three.
Patience and trial and error is what's needed when you're new to this. Perseverance is also good. Ask around and you'll find that you'll get lots of good advice from the experienced vapers around here.
Edited to add: Vapor and throat hit are juice related, not anything to do with the battery or cartomizer/clearomizer that you're using. More VG (vegetable glycerin) = more vapor. More PG (propylene glycol) = more throat hit. If you're new to the VG/PG ration I'd suggest go with 50/50. That gives me a lot of vapor and enough throat hit to satisfy.

Tam reacted to brijmin in Jargon For Noobs
Sometime the vets on the forums tend to use terms and slag for some of the most common items, methods and hardware for vaping. This is not the ultimate guide but should make some of the terms a little clearer. (I hope)...
Basic Jargon
Vapor - Vapor is the substance exhaled when using an electronic cigarette which may look similar to cigarette smoke.
Vaping - The act of using an Electronic Cigarette (as opposed to "smoking", as the device creates a vapor rather than smoke).
Vape - Used often in place of the word smoke. I vape, I'm vaping.
Batt - Battery.
Atty - Electronic component that turns the eJuice into vapor.
Cartridge or Cart - The part of a three piece electronic cigarette which contains the liquid. These come blank (with no liquid), or prefilled.
Cartomizer or Carto - The part of a two piece electronic cigarette which contains the liquid. These come blank (with no liquid), or prefilled.
Analog - Traditional tobacco cigarette.
DIY - Do It Yourself.
Dripping - To place a few drops of liquid directly onto the atomizer instead of using a cartridge.
Drip Tip or DT - A special attachment used to make it easier to drip eliquid directly onto the atomizer.
Mod - Modified (custom built) e-cigarette.
TH - Throat Hit a strong feeling in the back of the throat when vaping.
Primer Puff - A short, quick mouth inhale on the electronic cigarette similar to the action when smoking a pipe or cigar. This heats up the atomizer before a full draw.
PV or Personal Vaporiser - An electronic cigarette. Some prefer to use this term as the word 'cigarette' has a lot of negative connotations associated with it that do not apply to PVs.
PCC - Personal Charging Case / Portable Charger Case.
Passthrough or PT - A USB adapter for the Electronic Cigarette which screws onto the atomizer like a battery, but draws power from a USB port.
E-Liquid / E-Juice
E-Liquid / E-Juice - A Flavored or unflavored liquid for use in an electronic cigarette, usually (but not always) containing nicotine.
VG - Vegetable Glycerin
PG - Propylene Glycol
PEG - Propylethylene Glycol
PGA - Pure Grain Alcohol
NPG - Not containing Propylene Glycol. Sometimes used as a synonym to Vegetable Glycerin.
Nic - Nicotine
Cartridge Related
Filler - The clump of fibers that hold the liquid in the cartridge.
Stuffing - Another term for filler.
BFM - Blue Foam Mod. (cart filler material)
Dripping - To place a few drops of liquid directly onto the atomizer instead of using a cartridge.
Dry Smoking - Same thing as dripping, referring to the fact that the cartridge us usually not filled, therefore dry.
Tailpiping - Vaping directly from the atomizer without using a mouthpiece/cartridge.
Drip Tip or DT A special attachment used to make it easier to drip eliquid directly onto the atomizer.
Topping Up/Off - To add a few drops of liquid to a partially used cartridge to prolong its use.
Measurements
LR - Low Resistance
HV - High Voltage (typically a 5 or 6 volt ecigarette)

For the Vision Nanos I got mine (the 2nd order) from Altsmoke. They have a "buy 5 for $2.49" and their shipping is decent.
http://altsmoke.com/review/product/list/id/1641/category/12/
The Veteran Vaper, GotVapes.com, VapeLite, Discount Vapers are all places where I got good prices, good product and great customer service.
The majority of my juices I now get from EC Blends. They have the juices that I like most consistently, of course YMMV. I have tried too many different vendors but the others have been hit and miss for me.
Hope that helps. Congrats on getting your buddy off the analogs!
ETA: Forgot to add Empire Mods, but you know that already since it was you who recommended that site to me.

You may look into rebuildable dripper. They are cheap, do not leak and will last longer than you. I had an igo-l dripper which i loved but I accidentally killed it by trying to dry it in an oven...not a smart move btw. If you don't cook it, it should last forever.

Tam got a reaction from Uma in How do I know when my cartomizer is going bad?
When the draw becomes too tight and you don't get any vapor/hit from it is a good indication. Usually, when it starts going out you'll notice that it's not working as well as it did before. Some will just quit while others will slowly dwindle in performance. As for what I've experienced, most of mine lasts several weeks to a month or more depending (if it's not a dud). Sorry, I know that's not much help but it depends on the part itself.
Asking questions is good. That's how we learn.

Okay, they really need to stop coming up with so many cool toys now!
This one as well as a couple of others I saw from today's Vapelite newsletter all seem to have the easy to replace outer wicks. It was a real trial for me not to click "add to cart" today.

Thank you Tameiki, I am getting close to trying my hand at DIY jucing very soon and have an idea or two to play with. I do like the idea of mixing boughten E-juices, but I think I am about ready to get wet junk all over the table, LOL. The idea of tinkering just sounds too tempting not to give it a go. I will start small at first of course until I find what I really like.
