I got mine from Altsmoke http://altsmoke.com/nano-clearomizer-510.html If you order 10 or more you can get them for $1.99 each but since you don't know if you'll like them or not I'd start with one or three. At $2.99 a piece, that's still not bad.

    Thanks again Tameiki!!
Your questions back then were very relevant to me here.
So here's what you helped me find at empire:

    Delrin 306 XL Drip Tip
    Empiremods Bridge Free LR510 1.8ohm
    eGo Drip Shield Cone

Hopefully these will save me some frustration in direct-drip land...
You officially have yer name in my book of awesome!!

The liquid inside the atomizer will leak out of the bottom ventilation holes, it's a very small amount unless you over drip. That's why you'll want to get a drip shield. You don't have to have one but if you don't, you'll have to wipe the bottom portion of the atomizer every now and then or the juice will start to accumulate and then eventually ooze down the battery, your fingers...

Not totally necessary but I like to rinse the drip shield in warm water periodically to rinse off the juice it caught and then allow it air dry.

That's my first foray into direct dripping. As you can see I ask a LOT of questions. The folks here were wonderfully patient with me. lol

This next link is about drip shields:

I think you'll find some helpful information in the comments.

Let me see.... Before attaching the atomizer to the battery take a paper towel or tissue and hold it very loosely to the end that will be screwed onto the battery. Then blow through the top to blow out anything there. Do this several times, you don't have to worry about being too gentle here. Another thing is to remember this move when you flood the thing by putting too much juice in that it gurgles and won't really give up any vapor. Blow it out and start with a couple of drips.

I'm a terrible dripper and used to consistently flood my atomizer for a good long while when I started.

The first time you need to drip in four to six drops of liquid. I like to let it sit for 10 - 15 seconds to absorb the first time. Then vape. You'll know when you've run out of juice when you get a really harsh throat hit that tastes like chemical or something that's definitely NOT your e-liquid.

Have you gotten a drip shield? I believe those make the direct dripping experience so much better. When I first started I had an eGo cone. Those were okay except for the tight draw due to no air holes. You can get the eGo drip shields at Empire Mods. There are only two styles that have eGo in the name of the drip shields. These will cover the threads of your battery. The other 510 compatibles will also work but the threads will be visible unless you get a separate thread cover or don't care about it.

    Good luck!

I figure I might as well give them a chance as well:

1-Kanger EVOD eGo Clearomizer - Black
    2-Atomizer Head for Kanger EVOD - 1.8Ω/ohm
    2-Atomizer Head for Kanger EVOD - 2.4Ω/ohm

And a grip extension for my new 'carry piece'... oh wait...wrong forum! My bad folks...

Yeah I'm looking into various cartos and tanks for them that would are recommended for various ratios of pg and vg. I've gotten quite a bit of feedback in regards to people's favorites with carto and tank combos. I'm thinking about starting a thread asking what people's favorite combinations are. And also, thank you so much for the EC blends website. I ordered two of their 5ml bottles that could be what I'm looking for last night when I got home. (I use tapa for browsing and posting forums from work) and I'm really excited about their selection of flavored along with the various strengths and ratio options.. Amazing site, I can't thank you enough.

I would just like to personally thank blucavvy for starting this thread.

This is my favorite thread at VT because it's the place where I can get info on what works and what's being bought.

I can see from the thread count that I'm not alone.

    Thanks, blu!

Yeah, with a 901 atty, it's just funny looking, as you can see in the top picture below. The bottom picture is what it should look like with a 306 atty. I say should because I don't have a 306, so I just stuck the Cherry Vapes Universal down inside the cone for the picture.

I did, however, just order an Empire Mods Bridge Free Dual Coil LR306 1.5ohm to use the Universal with (and a Delrin 306 XL Drip Tip just in case the Uni doesn't fit). I've been curious about the dual coil atties for a while now, so I went ahead and got one...damnit! (will this never end?)

    From Empire Mods:

    2 eGO drip shields
    6 various drip tips

    Sweet-Vapes (12 mg nic, 50 PG/50 VG):

30 ml... *throws up hands in defeat*

Okay, I have no idea what it was that came this time. This is when I went stark, raving mad and ordered a $***load of juice. I think I got 30 ml glazed blueberry donut, Kona cream, Starbuckets Mocha

    15 ml blueberry cinnamon crumble

    6 ml: creamy caramel, lemonade

    From EC Blend:

30 ml 6 mg 50/50 chocolate malt extra flavor

The Vapor Room: 12 mg 75PG/25VG

    30 ml French Toast
    30 ml Vanilla Custard
    15 ml Vanilla Cupcake 50/50

And the folks at TVR pulled a sneaky thing on me.

They added a sample of their cranberry. Never would've ordered that myself -- even to try it out. Um... so I lost my fight against not buying anything more for awhile and ordered a 30 ml, 12 mg, 75PG/25VG bottle of it. *sighs*

    Aaaaand!

We can lay the blame on Blucavvy for the order today: 900 mAh purple Vision Spinner.

The whole battle cry of, "I need BACK UPS!!!!" was what made my original arsenal of one eGo battery, two clearomizers and one bottle of juice into the monstrosity of stuff I now have. Mentioning that brick and mortar store in Colorado is not helping, Kit.

Thanks for the heads up, Jeff! I've been searching for a light lavender color to match my eGo 650 for some time now. Couldn't find what they're calling it so I've contacted the owners of the site. Hopefully they'll get back to me soon so I can catch this price.

ETA: Wow. As soon as I posted this I got a reply from Stormy. Now that's some great customer service! Unfortunately they don't have the color I wanted but I'll be buying from them when they get it back in stock.

2 each of lilac and blue: Swirl Ice CE4 mouth piece from GotVapes

These are essentially just color versions of replacement mouth pieces for the CE4 (Vision Stardust). They're much prettier now and I might need to get a few more of their colors. It's so much more fun than just the normal black ones.

I thought it was one the first time that I looked at one, but there seems to be a couple of (improved, I think) design changes.

Unlike the T3/MT3, when you have to change out heads, you just unscrew the head from the base and screw in a new one ($1.50)...cheaper to replace than the T3/MT3's head and base one-piece assembly ($2.99).

Also, the transparent mouthpiece is supposed to be more comfortable than the T3/MT3.

At only 2 ml., the EVOD's capacity is almost ½ ml. less than the T3/MT3, but it still holds almost ½ ml. more than the competition's 1.6 ml. (i.e. eGo V# Clearomizers).

I've got one on the way and I'll post the results once I've had a chance to try to destroy it.

If you'll notice the dates this is a fairly old thread. So many new products have come out since then. As far as many of the members of this forum have attested eGo batteries, on the whole, are good, dependable ones. It's the tanks/clearomizers on top that can get finicky.

The T3 and MT3s have been getting a lot of positive reviews. These are "bottom feeders" where the liquid goes through the bottom instead of a wick on top. The Vision Nano is also a bottom feeder that holds only 1 ml of juice. I've had the best of luck with all three.

Patience and trial and error is what's needed when you're new to this. Perseverance is also good. Ask around and you'll find that you'll get lots of good advice from the experienced vapers around here.

Edited to add: Vapor and throat hit are juice related, not anything to do with the battery or cartomizer/clearomizer that you're using. More VG (vegetable glycerin) = more vapor. More PG (propylene glycol) = more throat hit. If you're new to the VG/PG ration I'd suggest go with 50/50. That gives me a lot of vapor and enough throat hit to satisfy.

Sometime the vets on the forums tend to use terms and slag for some of the most common items, methods and hardware for vaping. This is not the ultimate guide but should make some of the terms a little clearer. (I hope)...

    Basic Jargon

Vapor - Vapor is the substance exhaled when using an electronic cigarette which may look similar to cigarette smoke.

Vaping - The act of using an Electronic Cigarette (as opposed to "smoking", as the device creates a vapor rather than smoke).

Vape - Used often in place of the word smoke. I vape, I'm vaping.

    Batt - Battery.

Atty - Electronic component that turns the eJuice into vapor.

Cartridge or Cart - The part of a three piece electronic cigarette which contains the liquid. These come blank (with no liquid), or prefilled.

Cartomizer or Carto - The part of a two piece electronic cigarette which contains the liquid. These come blank (with no liquid), or prefilled.

    Analog - Traditional tobacco cigarette.

    DIY - Do It Yourself.

Dripping - To place a few drops of liquid directly onto the atomizer instead of using a cartridge.

Drip Tip or DT - A special attachment used to make it easier to drip eliquid directly onto the atomizer.

Mod - Modified (custom built) e-cigarette.

TH - Throat Hit a strong feeling in the back of the throat when vaping.

Primer Puff - A short, quick mouth inhale on the electronic cigarette similar to the action when smoking a pipe or cigar. This heats up the atomizer before a full draw.

PV or Personal Vaporiser - An electronic cigarette. Some prefer to use this term as the word 'cigarette' has a lot of negative connotations associated with it that do not apply to PVs.

PCC - Personal Charging Case / Portable Charger Case.

Passthrough or PT - A USB adapter for the Electronic Cigarette which screws onto the atomizer like a battery, but draws power from a USB port.

    E-Liquid / E-Juice

E-Liquid / E-Juice - A Flavored or unflavored liquid for use in an electronic cigarette, usually (but not always) containing nicotine.

    VG - Vegetable Glycerin

    PG - Propylene Glycol

    PEG - Propylethylene Glycol

    PGA - Pure Grain Alcohol

NPG - Not containing Propylene Glycol. Sometimes used as a synonym to Vegetable Glycerin.

    Nic - Nicotine

    Cartridge Related

Filler - The clump of fibers that hold the liquid in the cartridge.

Stuffing - Another term for filler.

BFM - Blue Foam Mod. (cart filler material)

Dripping - To place a few drops of liquid directly onto the atomizer instead of using a cartridge.

Dry Smoking - Same thing as dripping, referring to the fact that the cartridge us usually not filled, therefore dry.

Tailpiping - Vaping directly from the atomizer without using a mouthpiece/cartridge.

Drip Tip or DT A special attachment used to make it easier to drip eliquid directly onto the atomizer.
