  1. The eGo 2.4 ml changeable coil clearomizer has been my main stay since shortly after I first started vaping. I've loved the ease of use, great flavor output, and especially the way I can change out the coils without having to buy the whole set up. That said, I see there are now the long wick version available. Has anyone here tried the long wicks yet? If you have, how do they compare to the short wicks? I've also wondered if I could just buy the long wick coil and put it into the clearomizer that originally came with the short wick? Any thoughts?
  2. Your eye sight is better than mine. I was considering a microscope. lol
  3. If I hold mine to a fairly bright light, angle it just so, and squint real hard... there are lines in .2 increments. There are numbers saying 4.0 and further around: 4.8. So the second line after the 3.2 should be the 3.6.
  4. So I'm finding out. There are so many choices out there with more coming every day. Our battle cry when we were building our place was: All it takes is money. Vaping seems to fit that bill as well. Just googled the Lavatube and... wow. I think I'll stick to the egos for now but congrats on your newest acquisition!
  5. So far my favorites have all come from Sweet-Vapes.com. Starbuckets Mocha is very high on the list. After that would be the Kona Cream. Seems like I'm into the coffee flavored ones right now. My go-to all day was the Mojito but that's on the back burner right now.
  6. Wow. Who would've thought that an innocent link could bring about so much damage to my wallet! :laughs: I have a drip shield/cone/thingy but don't care much for it. It could be just me, but when it's on, the vapor seems warmer than I like so I just leave the atty nekkid. But the drip tips on that site... I just ordered one metal, one stainless steel and one glass drip tip. Can't wait 'til they get here to try them out. Now that I seem to have a handle on this dripping thing I'm really glad I stuck with it. The difference in taste is just amazing! So... when do I get my sooper sekrit dripper-decoder ring?
  7. Thanks for being so patient with me and all my millions of questions, Kitsune! Now that I've finally gotten to where I'm getting real flavor without... whatever it was I was tasting before, I'm really glad I stuck with this. The flavor of the Kona Cream from Sweet-Vapes really comes out. Yum! Like you suggested I'm keeping the coffee flavored ones to one atty and the desert flavors in another. That way, even if there's a little flavor left over it all mixes nicely. When I bought the atty at the brick and mortar store, I was told to blow out the primer (just some gentle puffs), but I'm guessing that I didn't get enough out before starting. That was... yuck! lol. Went to the store you linked to and ordered some different types of drip tips to see which one(s) will work better for me. The only one that was there at the store where I bought the attys is... okay, but it's hard for me to get it off when changing attys. I've heard somewhere that metal tips make it easier for the juice to slide in with less chance of sucking any into your mouth. Do you find it to be true?
  8. I think I finally got over the hump on the break in period because what I'm getting now is the "pure flavor" everyone keeps talking about. Thanks to everyone's advice I stuck with it. It seems like cleaning an atty and cleaning the clearomizers isn't any different. I think I'll go with how you do it and use hot water, probably boiled first then set to cool a bit. Thanks!
  9. How do you clean an atty? I've been going back and forth between two. The one I'm not using, I've put in a corner of a tissue and let it soak up the e-liquid like Kitsune said to do. With everyone's help here I'm slowly getting the hang of this dripping thing.
  10. I've been playing around with all the suggestions above and so far what seems to work for me is that I prime the atty with four drops. Let it sit for 30 seconds or so and then take a hit. That seems to take the awful taste out of the equation and more of the actual taste of the liquid comes through. After a few hits and the taste isn't as strong I put in one or two more drops. Wait. Then hit. That seems to work for both the ego C twist and the 650 pass through so far. It's been quite a learning curve...
  11. I think I've been doing it wrong. This "priming" thing, if I didn't prime it first, would that be the cause of a funky, slightly chemical taste coming from each draw? It wasn't the flavor I was anticipating after hearing so much about getting the "true flavor" of juices from dripping, lol! Also, if I'm using this to try new flavors, how would you keep one flavor from mixing with another? Should I use new atomizers for each flavor, dry burn between flavors (should I dry burn at all?), or can I wash it out? See? Still many questions, but I'm still trying. I hate admitting defeat and I'm seeing this now as a challenge. Apologies are given in advance for the many, many questions I ask! Aaaand I just thought of a dumb question: the "drip tip" got its name because you can drip directly into it without having to take the thing off every time you want to put more drops in, is that right? Do you use the stock tip that or do you have a different one that works better for you?
  12. Thanks for the tip! I think I prefer the non-gurgling types
  13. Three drops seems to lessen the gurgling but it's still there -- just less. I'll try cutting it down to two. Thanks for the help!
  14. Probably should've noted that I was using the twist at the lowest setting in the original post. Sorry for the omission. Once I drip the juice in I usually hit it until I get a slight burny taste like I read in other threads. Am I hitting it too often? Thanks for the advice, Blu! I'll give that a try.
  15. 1.5 -- that's all they had at the brick and mortar store I frequent. Would you suggest I use a different resistance? Which ones would be better? I thought four drops would be okay and it shouldn't be flooded with that.
  16. Got some Joyetech 510 B type attys for direct dripping. So many people here recommended them so much for better tasting the e-liquids that it got me curious. I'm looking at you, Kitsune. Now I have some questions. Sometimes when I'm drawing on it the thing makes a gurgling sound. There's only four drops of liquid in there. Am I doing something wrong? Drawing too hard? Do I need to wait a bit between dripping and taking a hit from it? How hard or softly do I draw from it? Does it matter? Which atty (brand, ohm, whatever) do you prefer? I'm using this on the ego C twist. Would the 650 passthrough be a better battery choice? There are so many choices I'm really confused. Sorry for all the questions but I'd really like to make this work. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
  17. Got home from work tonight and found that my new Ego C Twist arrived. I should've bought this some time ago. OMG. Someone said that the numbers were very small and hard to read in another thread. Boy, were they ever right! My eye sight isn't the best anymore anyway so without bright light and some squinting I couldn't make out which way was lower or higher. Finally got it set and gave it a try... This 1000 mAh is nearly 1 1/2 inches bigger than my 650s but it's not bad. I think I just need to get used to the extra length. lol. So far I've got it set at the lowest setting (3.2?) and loving the cool vape. The flavor of the e-liquid comes through stronger than I've ever tasted before (using a Stardust V2 right now). Eventually, I'll probably play with the settings but I think I've found my "sweet spot" already. And talk about great customer service! Brian also included two bottles of e-juice in my order. Thanks, Brian, for not only a great product but also a great shopping experience. You've got a new return customer.
  18. Like McQuinn said above, I highly recommend the Stardust. It's pretty maintenance free and easy to use with good vapor output and gives a lovely flavor of whatever e-liquid you're using.
  19. The stardust clearomizers with the long wicks give off the best tasting vapor and user friendly of nearly everything I've tried so far. Even as a noob I've managed to try quite a few clearos. Just be aware that once in a while you'll hear gurgling while pulling on a stardust. All you have to do is unscrew it and dab a tissue in the battery connection to get the excess e-liquid out, blow INTO the stardust (with a tissue under the thing to catch liquid) and then dab the bottom to dry. Screw back on and continue to vape. For some reason every now and then some juice will get into the center post and make it gurgle. Not a big deal but something to keep an eye on to get the best use of these things. ^___^
  20. I can't speak for anyone else but what I did was... when I wanted a cigarette, I just had one. Then, I went back to vaping. By doing that it took the pressure off and by the fifth day I was totally off the analogs. The good thing about vaping is that it's not an all or nothing choice. Good for you that you're working on it though. Welcome and good luck!
  21. Aw, man, that sucks! I'm so sorry to hear about your dead twist. I'm really looking forward to playing around with mine when it gets here. Everyone has such good advice!
  22. I've been using 1.5 to 1.8 mAh in the CC clearo. Will play with those a bit before getting different ones to try. As for trying to read the numbers on the dial... an idea came to me while I was reading your comment: a little dab of blue nail polish on the lowest setting and a dab of red on the highest. That might help so I know where it's at without having to break out the microscope. Great advice. Thanks!
  23. Sweet spot. Check. Got it. Thanks for the help!
  24. Sounds like some very valuable but easy to remember advice. Thanks, Blu! The CC clearo I use has the ability to change out the atty at different Oohms so I'll get a few in a wide range to see what works best.
  25. That all makes sense, thanks! The twisty "boost button" is a good way to remember it, too. I think I read somewhere that some attys, carts, and/or clearos work better with certain juices and certain volts but I can't remember where that was. Good grief, there's so much to learn but it's kinda fun doing it.
