Bebop Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Just finished up a youtube binge of the rifleman (one of my favorites as a kid. I so wanted to be chuck connors) Well I don't know how I ever missed it but The Gunfighter was awesome. This western us right in my wheelhouse. What, were there 2 shots fired in the whole movie? The best westerns are about characters and this one was fine. It was a treat to see Richard Jaeckel in an early role and even a double surprise to watch the whole movie before I realized Skip Homeier was the young gunfighter. 16 years later he would be the leader of the hippie clan that commandeers the USS Enterprise in ST TOS. Great movie.

T-Bone Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 Encore Westerns has a great string of shows in the afternoons that I try to watch. Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, Gunsmoke...they used to show Bonanza after Gunsmoke but now they show Cheyenne. Rawhide used to be on, too.
