The top coil in that pic looks smaller that the other and to be touching the base. Try using a higher gauge (smaller diameter) resistance wire if you wanna keep your dual coils the same approximate length while increasing the resistance level of each coil. They're micro-coils...the wraps are supposed to be touching, but yes, make sure your coils & untrimmed leads aren't shorting against the RDA's surface. No most APV's (other then a dna20 mod) won't fire a coil below a 1.1 because the circuitry is built that way. It stops you from having a short, or what it perceives as a short.
