  1. The first time you enjoy a hot vape, you'll get it.
  2. I just use my syringe to suck all the liquid back out before I take the tank all the way off.
  3. I wanted to like the Vision clearos too, since they look so great (they really do) but of the two I ordered, one wont wick properly and always tastes burned. The other was DOA and won't fire at all... so I wrote them off. ...and that is why I can definitely understand someone else doing the same with DCTs if they started with a crappy one.
  4. Yeah, there were a few kind of sketchy batches of the pre-punched smoktech cartos a while back that had problems, wouldn't wick, etc. I had to experiment until I found a good method for using the DCT tanks. I do use a syringe to fill them and to prime new cartos before putting the tank over them. You also want to use the newer cartos with the flange on the bottom by the threads that stops the tank from sliding down out of position. Actually, since I figured out the syringe priming method, I've yet to have a bad carto that tasted burnt or wouldn't wick. The trick is to use the syringe to fill the carto through the hole with JUST enough juice that the vape is good, and then slide on the tank and fill it. You can then use it right away with no problems after that. I could make a demo video if anyone was interested.
  5. I prefer to use only 100% VG liquid.. The two suppliers I normally use are AVeliquid and American Liquid Store. Any others you would recommend for good pure VG juice? Recommended flavors? Thanks
  6. What kind of juice are you guys using with them? Mine never leak - ever - and only flood if I use a thinner juice, and even then it's after a couple of days of constant use.
  7. I don't mean to sound presumptuous, and I know different folks prefer different vapes... I'm certainly glad that that companies are still coming out with new vaping tech, but I have to wonder why most people haven't migrated to the DCT punched-carto-inside-a-tank-sleeve system. I still see people talking about dripping, or using eGo tanks, or standard cart/atty setups.. or (for heaven's sake) dripping into old-school Boge cartomizers 20 times a day and I can't imagine going back to that stuff. It would be like stepping back into the dark ages for me. I switched to a DCT-style tank (though I now use the Smoktech single-coil cartos with it) almost a year ago and I've yet to find anything that wicks as perfectly or operates at peak performance for as long, and I've tried lots of other stuff - for curiosity's sake - since then. If you're not using one of these: ...or something similar, would you care to share why not? Have you not tried it? Found something better? Had problems with them? For the record, I am not affiliated with ANY e-cig retailer or supplier, I'm just an active vaper with an honest question. Thanks in advance!
  8. Bobas is definitely my standard all-day vape. I've been stuck on it for almost a year now... I just keep going back to it (though Guerilla Juice is pretty great too). If there was another 100% VG juice out there that tasted like Bobas, I'd definitely be into trying it - especially with how sketchy AV's retail site can be (not untrustworthy - just down or out of service too often).
  9. Ha, if I'm awake and somewhere where it's allowed (e.g. not at my desk at work, in a movie theater, etc.) I am vaping. These days my trusty iPro is my constant companion.
  10. tell us about your band. link to your site? Music? On a vaping-related note... I get crap from the guys in my band about my PV. They call it "The wand." They're always quoting the Daily Show skit where they say, in a British accent, "Find the wand! Find it!" But they're all smokers wasting money killing themselves, so I just laugh at them and vape away in the studio while they have to go outside in the cold to smoke.. How are your bandmates about the vaping?
  11. Since getting my Infinity Pro PV and MAP tank several months ago, I've taken a real break from keeping up with the latest mods coming out. This thing just works so flawlessly and reliably that my desire to investigate new units has waned considerably. I'm out of the loop - has anything new come out that's interesting? I know when I stopped paying attention, the ProVari was king for most folks. I didn't go that way becuase I like dual coil cartos and didn't want to deal with an elaborate click-thru menu. The thumbwheel on the notcigs stuff is a perfect interface for me... I'm just curious now. Is everybody still going nuts for the ProVari? Has the Lavatube proven to be a good mod? What's up?
  12. Isn't this just a 3-voltage product? You can go from 2.9 to 3.2 to 3.7 or something like that? True VV has a much wider, gradual range.. Believe me, the first time you hit something above 4 volts or into 5+, especially with a carto or atty that doesn't fire that well at standard voltage, you will tell a MAJOR difference. There is no question that it's burning noticeably hotter.
  13. Is thier site working again? I wanted to order some more Bobas before Xmas but they were out of stock. I tried again a week or two ago and their website said "Sorry, we currently have no transaction system available" or something like that. It couldn't take my order. I tried calling them to order by phone and got a recorded message about the website, so I gave up and ordered some Dekang 100% VG from evcigarettes.com (who always have great service). I have always liked Dekang 555 but it's no Bobas... I miss it.
  14. I've tried a bunch from so many different vendors that it's hard to know what I've tried and what I haven't. I'm vaping Boba's Bounty from avejuice right now... love it. Top 3 for me. The person who mentioned graham crackers is totally on point. A really pleasant vape that tastes good at all voltages from 3.2 to 5.7... I'm actually down to the dregs of my 30ml "tryout" bottle and I need to order more... but they're out of stock!! Total bummer. I also like a lot of clove juices.. Since I've moved to a DCT MAP tank, I prefer pure VG juices for the vapor, so clove is harder to source. americaneliquidstore.com has some nice VG liquids too. It's been a while since I've ordered from them but I remember really liking their menthol and cheesecake flavors. I'm on the lookout for good tobacco flavors always. They're so hit-or-miss. Some taste good and some taste terrible. 555 is always good. BB is my fave so far.
  15. I agree... The recent advancements in refillable cartos have really kind of made the standard eGo tank systems obsolete.
  16. Why not switch to a Buzz Pro or Infinity Pro from notcigs if the Provari can be such a PITA? Do you really need all the information and read-outs? Take this with a grain of salt as I'm still very much in the honeymoon phase with an IPro, but I find the thumbwheel to adjust voltage is perfect and I don't get too hung up on a number. I just adjust the wheel till the heat and flavor matches my mood and go...
  17. That's cool and all, but the atomizers aren't the problem. They need to improve the tanks so that they don't leak - especially the type "B" tanks.
  18. I started a thread over this thing but it's probably more appropriate to post it here. I've got some other stuff - a Boge Rev. box, a SD-II, but this is my current best friend:
  19. Thanks! It's really cool. My only issue now is that I recently ordered some tobacco-flavored juice from CoV and I hate it... tastes and smells like old man cologne! Luckily the menthol I got from them at the same time is much, much better.
  20. It's been a real journey since I started with the humble 510 kit last Spring... Graduated quickly to an eGo PT... started experimenting with dripping, eGo tanks, then CE3 cartos... Became obsessed with feeder box mods.. grabbed a Boge Revolution V2 - learned why people like standard Boge cartos so much... Decided I needed a replaceable battery mod, got a Screwdriver Mk-II... experimented with the 901 fitting for a while... And finally, after countless atty types and juices and lots of little piddly spending here and there (which adds up like crazy!) I have settled on what I consider to be my first real "Big Boy" PV... Enter the Infinity Pro VV tube mod by Notcigs!: It's... marvelous.... It arrived yesterday. I just snapped this pic - I've vaped about 2 tanks through it so far. I'm finally getting the quality of vape I've been chasing all this time. I think it might be time to take it down from the 24mg nic though! This thing can blast so hard it'll make your head spin. I might need to drop to 18mg from here on out with this monster. It's so comfy, too. Nice weight. About the same diameter as the DCT MAP tank, so it looks "correct" to me. I also highly recommend the factory-punched cartos from Smoktech. So far they've been better-made and more consistent than the "someone rammed a nail through it" cartos I'd been using prior. The flange at the bottom that stops the tank itself is also really nice. Thanks for letting me share.
  21. At the moment I have two setups that I bounce back and forth from as needed. My standard right now is my black Screwdriver MkII with a 510 adapter to a CE3 Smokymizer.. juice varies but I like the High Caliber Red & White at the moment. My backup is the Boge Revolution V2.1 with a Boge LR Carto ..I have AltVapes Apple Frost in there right now. The Rev is a great backup because the battery is very high-capacity and it holds a full 10ml of juice in the box, so it's always at the ready. I have a DCT coming in the mail, so I'm hoping it's not too wonky or cumbersome on the end of my Screwdriver. I'll deal with it either way until I get something more versatile like a Buzz Pro.
  22. These charts are great. At this point I consider myself a somewhat-experienced vaper, but even I can get a little turned around by all the product types and variations out there. The charts are a really nice, easy-to-follow reference.
  23. I'm a little confused by your post. Not much point in buying the eGo T kit if you're going to be using 510 attys on it anyway. Are you talking about getting the eGo battery and using 510 LR tank atomizers? Or do you mean just using the eGo battery with the 510 LR attys you already have? It'll work either way, but in my experience there's not much difference in performance / leak propensity between the eGo and 510 tank systems, save for the far-greater e-liquid capacity of the eGo tanks.
  24. Okay, so after reviewing all the feedback I got in this thread, I decided to do what so many often do in this situation, which is go completely left-of-field and get something we weren't even talking about. My Boge Revolution 2.1 box mod should be here Thursday or Friday. I just realized that the dripping and tanks and stuff were more of a PITA than anything, that I'm perfectly happy with 3.7v vaping, and the ability to stick a whole 10ml bottle of my favorite juice in a box and roll with it for days outweighs any kind of hobbyist enjoyment from burning through attys at 5v. Thanks again for all the recommendations. I really appreciate it.
  25. Ha, wow. I didn't expect to inspire a debate, though you make a really good point, maverick. I don't suppose I'm looking to turn vaping into a hobby. I have enough hobbies. I just vape for enjoyment. I can't say that I'm not getting what I want out of the eGo, or with 3.7v vaping in general. I tend to do this - get into things and want to take them to the nth degree. I have a little extra cash lying around and thought "Well, I could upgrade my PV." and so immediately started thinking about how big I could go. I believe I will still get a nice mod, but I think I'll take your advice and temper my ambition a bit. I really appreciate all the input from everyone who posted in this thread and I'll continue to refer to it as I think about the decision. Thanks everybody!
