  1. Yeah seriously. I feel like b&m's should have a mandatory safety course employees have to pass before being able to use a mod on the job. I can only imagine the lawsuit and negative press that would come from having a customer hit by shrapnel.
  2. Honestly it's so bad I hate going in there and they were both definitely sub ohming their mods which scares me.
  3. Sorry about the rant I just don't where they find the people who work there. The couple that owns it knows their stuff, but every other employee I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with has been completely horrible. I know Samsung's are pretty highly recommend, I'm just trying to find a good replacement for Sony's now that they are hard to find.
  4. Lol, I can see that. I wasn't really worried about safety so much as how well it performs. I honestly don't trust the people that work at the b&m for opinions, most of them don't know the difference between their hand and their a$$. For example last time I was there and found out about the battery sale I read the price sheet and saw one labeled as imr 2500mah. I call the guy over and ask what should have been an easy question "what brand is the one labeled imr, is it like an efest or some cheap brand?" He looked at me like I was an idiot and says "imr is a brand" guy #2 who has his butt planted firmly on the vape bar counter (yuck) now pipes in with "yeah it's the best brand we sell and they own efest anyway too". I do an iinternal facepalm at this point.
  5. Just went to my local b&m and picked up a smok ohm meter, 24g kanthal, a Samsung 25r battery, a bottle of mint chocolate chip, a bottle of darkness coffee, and a bottle of pumpkin pie.
  6. I currently have a single piece of 24g with 2 vertical wraps at 6 wraps each. Came out right at 1ohm which is where I wanted it. Vapes pretty ok, good flavor and a decent cloud but a single sided build pulls too much air on the nimbus and I'm not getting the the throat hit I want. I'll probably build a second one for the other side and drop it down to .5
  7. I was curious if anyone has used Samsung 25r batteries, my local b&m has a pretty good deal on them.
  8. Well yes there are other ways to do it but I was speaking directly to his robv about his question. Someone who has the experience building electronics and understands what they are doing can do as they please. It is not a good idea for someone who doesn't to go do down to there local supply store and pic up a 5v or larger battery to build a mod with. The last thing I want is someone getting hurt.
  9. I wouldn't recommend using any larger batteries to build a mech. Now if you threw an adjustable voltage regulator and a fuse in it, I'd be all for it, and would honestly love to see a write up. Functionality wise it would work but safety wise it's not a good idea at all.

    The nimbus

I was using an old craftsman drill with no torque adjustment and a pair of vise grips. It was getting stretched to far right around where the second loop in the coil was.

    The nimbus

Found the problem, I was twisting too tight and almost breaking the kanthal on one of the loops. It was just barely attached and every time it got up to temp would break. Tried building one with some thicker stuff a buddy gave me and no more issues.
  12. I stocked up on candy corn back at Halloween, also tried a bottle of pumpkin spice from a new b&m around the corner.
  13. The guy I buy my stuff from has a great deal on the Itaste svd and is throwing in a free rba with it https://squareup.com/market/dragons-haze/the-itaste-svd-kit

    The nimbus

Just curious how others who have a nimbus are building theirs? I run mine with just a basic 30g dual coils using Hospital grade cotton and it preforms pretty well that way. I tried running a twisted coil on it twice but both times it would vape ok for a while and then suddenly make a pop and one of the wires would be broken, to much tension or maybe faulty kanthal? I'm getting my next spool from somwhere else to see if that helps.
  15. If you're interested in something a little different Volcano has the best kona I've ever tasted http://www.volcanoecigs.com/kona-coffee-eliquid-15ml.html I don't buy it that often but when I do I vape it 24/7 till the bottle is empty.
  16. I'm not really new to vaping. I've been building my own mods for a while now. My all day vape is a evod vv with a vivi nova, but I do bust out the box with my nimbus on it every evening and try to get some cloud chasing in . Just wanted to introduce my self and say hi.
