  1. I would suggest whatever you get, make it a single coil for now. With the Vamo`s 1.2-1.3 ohm limit, it makes it easier to stay with in that figure with one coil. As has been said, a KF will run just fine on a Vamo as long as you build your coil above 1.3 (mine gets real picky below that and will not fire if it drops to 1.2). My Vamo is topped off with a Kayfun Light and I run it between 1.3 and 1.6 ohm, and it does very good. FWIW, I started rebuilding kanger coils first, it makes the jump to the KF pretty easy. Then when you get the hang of that, you can drop the cash for a mech and just build a suitable coil on the KF and be having some real fun. Cheers, R

Sorry bud, but a spring has to have some carbon in it. I don`t think a copper spring could be functional. Your stuck with spring steel pretty much. What you want is for both ends of the coil to have as much contact with the parts they act on as possible and still have it collapse in on itself without any binding, the more contact you can get at the ends the better the currant will flow. This is case where bigger would be better, as long as your trigger finger can handle it, and parts can fit. The major problem with magnets is that they can lose the magnetic field after too many heating and cooling cycles, till they get useless or maybe even dangerous. A good hardware store should have something that could be "pressed" into service. :?) R
  3. My experience. After vaping for the first month or so I had some chunks of plac (SP?) fall out of my teeth and I credited that as a good thing. Also, in the very last years of smoking cigars my teeth had started to get a dull ting of pain in them, not much, but it seemed like it was always there and potentially getting worst. Now, after 3 months of vaping , my teeth do not hurt at all. And the Miss`s loves my warm breath on her again, LOL. There are those that would like to kill any good thing they cant understand, and they will use all sorts of irrational idea`s and positions to prove they are right. They better keep their mitts off my Vape! R
  4. I think, for most active peoples, that`s the way to go. I had a real infatuation with my dripper, for a little while. But now I`m on the kayfun trying to iron the kinks out on it, and I`v been using it most of the day for a few days now, and then at the end of the day I will re-wick the dripper and have some real fun. Tank for work breaks and convenience, dripper for the easy chair when all the work is done. :?) Works for me. R
  5. Oh PS, Rich, I looked at your ticker after posting. Maybe you are trying to go down too fast? Long term addictions can take a reasonably long time to get rid of, if planed our right. Obviously going down on the sauce is the least of my worries right now, perhaps some day I will want to, but right now Im just switching seats on the Titanic, and that`s good enough for me. Its so much cheaper! And I like it much better as I am in more control of the delivery! FWIW, it was 90 days yesterday for US, and honestly since I got on the ecig, a stinky has not even been a fleeting concern for me. But as I mentioned, I keep the sauce potent, :?) Best. Randall
  6. I don`t think I`d trade my ecig for all the stinky sticks in the world. I still smoke 36 mg, I smoke it allot. I like the fact that I can control it much better than tobacco. I can stay on it until I`m getting green, and I don`t have to relite. For me its the perfect delivery system for the stuff I love, which of course, is nicotine. Keep those anal-logs, (LOL) When I want nicotine, I know how to get it. :?) (Ya, I might just be lit up right now, LOLOLOL) R :?)
  7. Right on, glad that worked. I misspoke thou, a smaller diameter only works if the wire itself is smaller also, but you get it. :?) I use 1/16 inch in the hole bunch of kanger-evod heads we got because it fits well enough I don`t worry about grounding it out. Have fun. R
  8. Jinx, ha, ha. Your screw driver may be too large. A Smaller diameter coil means a higher resistance. I would be willing to bet your screw driver is more along the lines of 3/32 or larger. Try a drill bit.
  9. 10 wrps of 30 on a 1/16 bit get me 2.02 or so. Try pinching it in spring tweezers and torching it till its all red, then let it cool while in the tweezers, for a nice tight micro coil. I found this necessary to get it in there with enough room that I was comfortable with her using it, LOL. My Miss`s uses ego batteries so I have to wrap hers at 2 ohm so it don`t burn on a fresh battery. :?) Best of luck, R
  10. Thanks Fishdude. Toomany kayfuns, LoL. On the mini I got I just gave up on it and plugged it, and fill it from the top. I dont beleive that design is good/fit for its intended purpose.
  11. This is the tool I use to remove broken screws from watch movement plates, it should work on the KF deck but I`m not sure its cost effective considering the cost of the tool. The two little serrated prongs in the middle between the arms, these get screwed down tight on to the broken screw nub, and then the whole plate (in this case your deck) is turned so that the screw comes out. These do come in a couple of sizes in case the throat shown here is too small. Sometimes they can be found cheap in the ebay watch tools section if you want to try there, brand new they are 150+. Been watching you with your NET extraction (its chinese to me so far, LOL), so we could do a trade if you did`nt want to invest in the tool, :?) Eitherway, best of luck, :?) Cheers, Randall
  12. Do you mean the screw? Large KF? Need to clarify. If its the screw I can show you a tool that will remove it. Best, Randall
  13. Those are what I`m using in my V5, they are great in it, last almost two days, two KF tanks. Its just that they are`nt good for the dripper, so oh well. Its like everything has to have it own battery, and then a back up of its own battery, ha ,ha, ha. Id be happy with a "good" 2000 mah. It should last at least most of the day. With all this green tech going on there is allot of energy focused on batteries and tech always trickles down. Heck, I have a 400 dolor LARGE flat screen and I would have not thought it possible 5 years ago. Hers to Faith, HOPE and Love, :?) Cheers, R PS, since I`m peeing against the wind, how about a thermo nuclear V5, never have to change the battery and amps to spare, LOL.
  14. I looked and looked and looked. Just not a big selection in the 350 market. I do love my V5 with a 350, so svelte. But it wont last more then 4 hours or so. With a largish 650, I can almost go two days, :?) Over on another forum it was mentioned the Sigelei was not a very god bat, :?( This market has a good track record of listening to the consumer, so maybe its just a matter of time before a super 18350 is released. R
  15. I don`t have an Omega, so this is only general information and may not apply to your kit. But, GENERALLY, that is a screw. Its used to hold down your positive coil block to the atty head. Generally it should be tight, if not it can allow your coil block to move about causing all sorts of problems (kaboom?). I did see one suggestion about shimming these out with a washer, but you would want to make sure the washer is an exact fit both id and od, and does`nt ground to your 510 threaded pipe. You would want an ohm meter to be safe about it. And I have`nt heard a good thing about the maraxus (clone!), looks cool as hell, but not a single good thing Iv seen written about it. Best, R
  16. I took a vape break, ha ,ha. And got the camera. I wanted a used look to this rig, not fake, but used... This is almost spent, maybe one or two hits left. Apple Dapple from our gracious host. Its GOOD in the drip. And juiced up. Keep in mind the cotton is kinda dirty from the 5-6 previous drips. Maybe a better shot, IDK, LOL. I love this stuff. Vaping. Those nasty cigars, all they did was feed an addiction. But with this, I get a sense of accomplishment and peace that I`m not putting this into my body no more......................... Old pic from the cigar forum days........ I added that above to give credit to how much cleaner vaping is, the house is freaking clean. :?) I`m clean. Cheers, R
  17. That`s looking better Chris, bigger coils and fewer wraps. You may want to take your tweezers and try and make them a bit more even, the spacing in between the coils. So that the same amount of juice can get between them and eliminate hot spots in the cotton, which will start to fry the cotton at some point. While on the subject of cotton, I want to say I did the same thing myself with my first build. I used way too much cotton. That amount of cotton will actually trap your juice and keep it away from the coil, instead of drawing it to the coil. Think of a hurricane lamp, you want the cotton to wick up the juice and take it to the coil. I use little tails of cotton fanned out onto the deck, making sure the strands are parallel and not bunched up where it will swell and pool. Once you use the right amount of cotton (less is more), it`ll look like its translucent when juiced up, the cotton will just barely be visible in the juice. I would take pics but I`m supposed to be getting work done right now, LOL. As soon as I can get a sony, I`m going below point 5 myself, :?) Oh, I drip 24 and 32 mg quite a bit, I like it, ha, ha, ha. Just got to know when the stomach says "put it down!" PUT IT DOWN, LOL. Cheers, R
  18. Right on, once you get going on that you`ll be trying every flavor you go in it. My root bear, is the bomb, my Poppin Pineapple, not so much. You`ll find that some flavors just really shine in it, and some flavors go the other way, meh, LOL. Ya, for RDA you really don`t need a torch. I have never used one for mine, which is also the brass stillare 22mm. I use a left over ciggy lighter to anneal the wire, wrap it, put it in, and I like to keep a little space in between the wires because there is so much space to work with, I also believe it helps keep lots of juice on the coil. Make sure your battery can handle the amp load of your finished coils safely, using Ohms Law. Now I cant seem to get a coil to give me more resistance than 0.08....... I want to be between 1.0-1.2 One more wrap should do it, :?) (you do mean point 8 and not point Oh 8, right?) Cheers, R
  19. Just learned I have that completely bass ackwords. RE which one is the clone ect. One site say the Russian is the clone, one site lists the KF as the clone. Clones of clones? I don`t know. It can get very confusing at time, LOL. Specially when I`m lit up on nic, ha ha. R
  20. Really depends on what you like. I find that some makers don`t want to do a 50/50 mix, and some don`t want to do any PG at all. For me this is a deal killer. As an ex smoker, I enjoy the throat hit as much as I enjoy the whole experience, so if its all VG, or heavily slanted towards VG, no sale from me. That being said, Iv found Liqua to be honest value for money. I pay about 10.50 for a 30 ML bottle from a place thats in my state, so its here in a few days. No steeping required and it fits my flavor profile well enough they are my go to juice. It is 80/20 though, :?) Best, R.
  21. Iv not tried Taste juice yet, will look it up. As BB said, getting your kit straight is just a small portion of the journey, finding and trying new juices is the real effort. My ADV`s are all Liqua brand, due to the cost and flavor. Earthling here turned me on to them and they have all been great that I have tried. But every week I try and get a 10ml or two from someone new, try it, and so far very few have gone into the Bucket of shame. This is one reason we cant let the FDA get their grubby paws on the market, if they get to regulating it they will squash all the entrepreneurs that are giving all of us this awesome selection we have to chose from. So if you have the time, do some research on what the FDA is proposing and get involved with keeping big gov the f out of it. Best regards, R
  22. Hi Earth, I did allot of research on this last month. I believe the Russian is the original design, not a clone of anything. The KF is the clone, but I chose the KF for price, and it has some improvements in it, the latest version has a changeable DT, and the Ehpro version come with full clear tank, half clear tank, and full steel tank for those juices that will ruin a clear tank. I built a 7 wrap 1.3o twisted 33g on 7/64`s and stuck it on my Vamo. It blows clouds big time, on my darker juices I run it at 3.3 and it takes about one pull to get it going, but after that it will fill the room with a couple of hits. With my lighter juices I can run it up to 4 volts and it gets going on the first hit and will choke you out, LOL. Liked it so much I bought the Mini for the miss`s and after futzing with it (7w on 7/64 of 30 for 1.8o), its almost capable of the same taste and clouds the big one is. On drippers, my first and only dripper so far is the Stillare. Its nice and does the job, but I`m finding the drip well is not big enough for more then 10 drips and about 8 hits, so I`m looking at getting a Veritas. If you have`nt seen the Veritas have a look at it, its a bad *** set up and has a seriously large drip well. The Stillare works fine for taste testing and such, I have a few flavors that only come out fully in it and its nice to do some root bear or VT sweet dawn at the end of the day with it, without committing to a larger dripper or tank. Here`s a poor pic of the two set ups, Stillare on the left, Vamo KF on the right. Best of luck, :?) R
  23. The actual quality of the coils should be ascertained first. Some are complete rubbish. If you are buying your attys at the quicky cig mart, they come out of a bucket, and are not stamped with a Ohm value, chance are very good they will not last. Buy name brand coils first and foremost. After that, if its good coil, I used to get about 2 weeks on a good coil if I kept to light juices with a 50/50 mix of PGVG. As I used darker juices the life span would diminish, sometimes drastically. On some of my darker juices they would`nt last more then a couple of days, but I like the darker juice`s so it was part of the deal. Basically, lighter juices will go easy on the atty, darker juices will go harder on the atty. I really wanted to quit smoking so now I have a bunch of mecs and RBA`a and one RDA and have`nt thought about smoking in the least bit for awhile. Cheers, R
  24. Oh ya, A dripper is by far the easiest vape to rebuild and maintain, they are ridiculously simple. I started doing Kanger PT heads and by the time I got to the RDA I knew I had found nirvana, you`ll like it. Make sure you understand that Ohms law will tell you how many amps you can pull out of your battery during a vape, and a simple vape style ohm meter will make sure you don`t have any dead shorts that might fry in your hand, it will also give you the ohm load so you can figure your amp draw easily. For instance, I have a fresh bat in my mech, and my RDA is running at point 8 ohms. Using Ohms law for my build would be, 4.1 divided by .8, gets me a 5.125 amp load coming out of the battery, which it can handle. A much lower build, say .3 would mean I`m asking for (4.1 / .3) 13 AMPS! from my battery, and I know my particular battery can not handle that!! Once you drop below sub ohm you really have to be sure your battery can handle the load, and that you don`t have any dead shorts that will melt down. And that you coils look pretty, ha-ha. JK, ugly coils can get it done also, :?) When I go to you-tube, I mostly watch videos made by Pbusardo. I usually do a search there for any mod I`m thinking about buying and see what others think about it before I buy. :?) Have fun. R
  25. MSN is the absolute King Du Jour of yellow journalism. Or is it CNN? :?) There are more fair and balanced news networks out there. R
