I actually have a russian 91% and recently got a fogger v4. I might try them both again but I just don't think RTAs are for me. The russian never holds the resistance. I know it's not my coils I make great coils but it just doesn't make a good connection I don't think. Even with a full wrap around the screws and tightened down I will get it reading all over the map for resistance and then it just tastes burnt on any regulated device. So I've tried that one for months and never could get it working properly. I love the quality of it and everything else. The fogger I got recently and did a build and filled it using the bottom fill hole and never even got to enjoy it. It just leaked juiced out the airflow heavily. I checked the o ring seals and it seemed fine. Not sure about it but I will go back and try it again someday. For now I just cleaned them up and put them in a closet. I'm a RDA guy at home and clearo tank when I'm out kind of guy I guess. Bad luck with the RTAs.

A lot can effect the performance but as long as you practice and use safe batteries as well as an ohm meter to check for a short and your resistance you'll get there in short time. I would watch a lot of build tutorial vids on youtube. I also suggest a torch and ceramic tip tweezers to squeeze your coils gentle and heat to compress. After a while you'll be so good at wrapping them you'll only need the torch to use on your kanthal before you wrap. Much easier that way it takes a lot of the springiness out of the wire before you work with it. When you get good at wrapping you can just fire the coil before you wick it (after you check the resistance of course to make sure it's safe) and then compress the coils after you have mounted it. 30g is pretty high resistance. You can move down to lower gauge when you get comfortable. Once you're good with 28g you can go lower if you like. Airflow and wicking are the biggest factors for vapor production. As well as the juice you're using. Use higher VG for more vapor. It looks like you have too much cotton in your wick. You want it to fill the inside of the coil but still move freely when you pull on it. Then the ends only need to be long enough to tuck under and hit the bottom of the juice well. Less wick gives you more airflow but not enough wick will have you getting dry hits quickly. It's a balance.

I've had a Vamo V3 and liked it Upgraded to the Vamo V5 because the finish is better after they went back to the v2 style of finish. It's a great device for the cost. Will work great with the aspire mini I use mine with both the mini and regular nautilus. They're simple to use if you stick to wattage mode which is what I would recommend. No need to match volts to coil resistance with an ohms law table then just use the watts you want and it will match the volts for you. I recommend somewhere between 9 and 11 watts for the stock 1.8 ohm nautilus mini coils. Battery life is great if you get some good 18650 batteries. I would suggest the efest button top ones if you get a vamo v5. It's definitely a step up from the ego style battery and if you don't want a mech mod it's probably the best way to go. You can shop around for price but I'd order from a good USA based site and don't fall for the all in one packages. Just get the device and a pair of good batteries with a decent charger.

Yeah I watched it too and he's very informative and I like his reviews but he's very critical of things that are all subjective to taste. Like the location of things on the box. I'm glad mine also didn't have any of those issues. My battery door fits perfect and flush. Honestly a lot of that stuff comes from his unfamiliar nature with that box and not being a dripper kind of guy. He points out a pro of the device is you can usb charge and vape it at the same time. Yes you can but it's not recommended by Pioneer4You and most people know it's not good for your device or battery. He makes it sound like that's advisable and often refers to the incomplete manual but had he read it he'd see they say not to do it on like page 2. He's also using the device with way too low of a battery charge. That's why it's dropping down to a 10 watt power setting. You aren't supposed to drain your battery like that beyond it's ability to handle the load. The part where he says it was reading everything off was simply a need to adjust the pin or do a reset. I can't speak to the wet auto fire or auto fire on a low battery. I've not had a single issue with the touch fire although I just choose not to use it. I also don't think the screen shutdown is 60 seconds. Mine seems to cut down much sooner but even at 60 seconds it shouldn't be a hazard to anyone vaping responsibly. Never leave it unattended powered up or not in screen lock mode. His test unit definitely had issues but mine has been flawless really. For $109 you can't find a better 30 watt box mod let alone 50 watt. Comparing it to a DNA 30 device like he did just doesn't work. You have to compare it to others that use the sx330 and in that comparison it shines.

I've been using mine about a week or so. Haven't even used one of my mech mods since getting it. It does go back to 15W when you switch batteries but it's not a big deal. You can crank the watts back up quickly by holding the button down. I just don't want to use the USB charge. I haven't had any issues with the touch sensor fire. I could do without it but it disables itself after the screen timeout which is only like 10 seconds so after that you have to click the button to wake it up and use the touch to fire. I haven't fired it on accident or anything. It puts out a lot of power and I get a few hours regulated battery life before I swap them out. I don't really drain the battery past 25% left otherwise I could probably use it all day on one battery. I liked it so much I bought another just the other day in a limited edition carbon fiber body. Very good deal for the price I think and a one year warranty isn't bad. It's helped me get by waiting 12 weeks on the preorder for my darkstar 30. If that doesn't come around soon I think I'll cancel my order and just use my pair of IPv 2 box mods. I really want that darkstar though. Just so expensive and the wait is ridiculous. Oh and I've use a few builds with mine already. A clapton coil dual build at .5 was great. Currently swapping between a .3 dual tiger coil build and a 28g regular kanthal dual coil setup at .7 I think the sweet spot for this device and a dripper is about the .5 at 40-45 watts. I use it at 50 watts with the .3 and 30 watts with the .7. I try to keep it between 4.3 and 4.7 volts.

cuttwood unicorn's milk was recommended to me as a much better version of SB mother's milk. I agree now after ordering two small bottles. It's got a much better strawberry and cream taste. Like strawberry nesquik.

Sounds like problems with your device or just a bum coil pack. Did you check the package to make sure they were legit? Should have a scratch off on the box. I've had every single one of them read at 1.8 or 1.9 Maybe even up to 2.0 is common depending on the accuracy of your device but not almost 3 ohms. Stock batteries usually suck but I don't have an evic I can't say. I know the button top efest 18650's run great in my vamo and I can get at least a day just chain vaping it non stop. Usually 2-5 days because I only use it and the nautilus tanks at night. During the day I'm going hard on the IPV 2 and zenith v2 at 40 watts and .5 dual coil build. Now that thing is a beast of clouds and flavor.

18 watts is way too high. You're getting dry hits because it can't keep up. The review people were pushing it to see what the limit was on the coils not to tell you what optimum wattage should be for normal use. The other coils maxed out at like 11 watts and these will take more. Doesn't mean you have to give it more. I ran the old coils at about 9 watts and I use these at 11. I wouldn't push them beyond the limit of my device (vamo v5) which is 15 watts. Matters what your juice ratio is too. Anything with more than 50% VG is prone to have wicking issues in a clearomizer. You're not going to get flavor like a direct drip atomizer that's just not possible with a modern clearomizer. You also have a lot less of the other problems. I don't usually use the term game changer for anything because everyone is playing a different game in their own heads but the new coils are well worth the cost of the upgrade. That's not really up for debate in my opinion.

Welcome!

First tried a single coil of 26g gplat wire but 9 wraps only came out to just below .3 and on the new ipv2 50 watt box mod that thing was sucking up the juice and was warmer than I wanted. So went with a dual clapton coil build at just below .5 ohm and set it to 40 watts. It blows clouds.

Yeah giant vapes rules. I've ordered a few times from them and they carry great premium juice and have the fastest shipping I've ever gotten. Nothing has ever taken more than two days to get to my door.

Construction material of the Vamo V5 BLACK?
SteezeOG replied to VapeHappy's topic in Variable Voltage & Wattage
I have the stainless v5 and it's been great. You can always get wraps for it to change the look. I never suggest getting the other finishes. I got the gunmetal finish in my vamo v3 and it wore off very quickly and looked bad. I got a cheap set of wraps that are snakeskin pattern and it looks cool now. I'm about to give it to a friend. -
Bump Everytime You Buy Something New
SteezeOG replied to blucavvy's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Today I ordered a iPV 2 50 watt box mod, Zenith v2 clone because I love my authentic, and a gold fogger v4. Pretty excited about all of it but the box mod especially. -
Not sure how sold you are on the dna 30 chip but eciggity just restocked some sweet box mods that use other good performing chips and for really great prices and higher watts. I ordered myself the 50 watt one for only 109$ but I'd act fast if you're interested. I don't know how many they have in this order but I bet they go very fast. http://www.eciggity.com/ipv2-50-watt-box-mod/ They also have one that is 35 watt for $79 I think is the price. Same site. Here's a short review on them http://youtu.be/0wJ0o8ACwK4?list=UUgPR3trFb_fZbRADdcsMbfQ

He's got the regular nautilus on a darkstar 30 box mod which is a dna 30 device and super awesome and I'm on a 12 week waiting list for mine. Good thing I have an iVP 2 50 watt box coming next week to fill that urge. The mini is on another box mod likely a dna 30 chip as well I couldn't really tell and it's been a few weeks since I watched it completely. It kind of looks like a vaporshark but I don't think they make them in that color.

I've just started doing mine that way to try it out. It does help with the centering and if you can bend that longer negative lead just right it doesn't fire any slower. Wicks better that way too. Brass monkee rules. Way underrated RDA. I just slightly prefer my zenith v2 because the allen screws give a better connection and the airflow is a bit better.
-
There are some that do and have for a while. I know the helios does and the brass monkee does for sure I'm using mine right now. It's great for installing coils and making connections. Not the easiest for centering coils unless you do it spaced out to the far end of the positive for each side.

I have both. They're both great but there are some key differences. The mini is quite a bit smaller tank 2ml compare to 5ml I believe and the new mini has a recessed middle part so you really can only fill it to about 1.5ml easily. The airflow adjustment is improved on the mini but only in looks and a little better function. It's still good on the original nautilus. The vertical coils do work and work well on the full size. If you need the capacity get the big one and the new coils. If you want something that is a more compact design the mini is pretty awesome. I think both are worth the money. I've got my mini on a vision spinner II battery right now and for such a small little device I turn it up to 3.8V and the stock 1.8 single vertical coils really give good vapor and flavor for a clearomizer. I'm happy with it. I've got another one from the store on this site hopefully coming soon that I'll use on my vamo v3. I use the big nautilus on my vamo v5 at 11W. Could only use it up to about 9W with the old dual coils.

3 ohms is crazy high resistance. That's the limit on most devices and I don't know how you'd fit all that wire in a kanger coil head body. Certainly not with anything but 32g. Yes coil wraps can touch. You don't want them overlapping. Youtube microcoil or in your case it would probably be more of a nano coil. Just the other day you were asking for getting your coils around 1.6 ohm now you want 3? I'm getting as confused as you are lol.

It wicks better than cotton and especially in tanks. I can't say if you'll get better flavor or not, depends on the juice for me. Better wicking means a better consistent burn though. It's not something you must do but you wanted a few ideas and that's one I'd try. You use it the same as cotton. If you're using a 70% PG juice you shouldn't be lacking flavor. Like I said the easiest thing to do is get juice with extra flavor shots added. Everything else will help with performance which can effect vapor and flavor in a positive way as well.

Not going to get in to the big tobacco debate but just my experience with people who still smoke is they feel threatened, jealous, and weak. Not saying all of them but many do in my experience. They see their smoker friends quitting and going to vaping and many of them would like to quit too but they just can't. They convince themselves that it's not any better for you health wise and they are scared to try the switch or quitting altogether. A lot of it depends on your attitude when around them. Don't be pushy and don't act like you're better than them. If they ask you about it then be honest. Tell them what you're spending, how you feel, and what it's done for you. If you simply hound them constantly about switching to vaping and are always telling them how much you save or feel better it comes off wrong many times. Like the jehovah's witness who comes to your door early on a saturday morning preaching you about what he thinks and how you should convert. Sometimes people have to find out for themselves.

Organliq Max VG Honey Dew All Day and Mastermind Elixirs Conjure, a nice mixed berry blend. So clean and delicious.

So I take it you've been rebuilding your kanger coil heads? Lower resistance does not always equal more flavor. At your resistance though it likely will. When you're subohming going too low will start to kill the flavor in a lot of juice but we're talking below .2 What device are you using? It was a vamo right? I think I remember you asking about it a while back. You can go down to about 1.5 or 1.6 with that but I don't get my vamo v2 or v3 to fire below 1.5 What I would recommend is building at 1.6 and using rayon cellucotton for wicks. Also adding an aero tank base from kanger to your protank3 if you haven't already. They can be purchased separately and just screw on as a replacement to the fixed airflow base and that will give you better and adjustable airflow. You can also try other drip tips that give you better airflow because that can increase your vapor and flavor. Another thing that is simple is your juice. If you order it from places like mount baker vapor have them add extra flavor shots. Use a higher PG base for more flavor. 50/50 PG/VG is the highest ratio of VG I'll use in a tank. The rayon cellucotton will wick better even with higher VG ratios though. You can find a giant box of cellucotton at a Sally's beauty supply for about $11-12 for 500ft. That will last you several years more than likely. If you don't have a Sally's locally you can find it on Amazon. I don't know what gauge wire you should be using to rebuild kanger heads. I've never done it and I didn't use a protank2 very long. I prefer the aspire nautilus line of clearo tanks. Use whatever gauge is recommended but if you find out that 30g will work you should use that. It's slighter larger and more surface area on your wire means better burn and flavor. Still you need to target the 1.6 ohm as close as you can with that vamo. It will fire 1.5 but I'd just go slightly higher. They don't sell stock coils below that so that means you should stick to the 1.6-1.8 range as best you can.

Likely just need a little more water. If you are already noticing the difference by drinking more I'd say that's it. Usually an increase of nicotine is easily spotted because it's different. More of a light headed rush. A mild headache is usually just dehydration. 2 liters in a day really isn't all that much. Step it up to double your usual for a while and it will probably go away.
