  1. Variable voltage mode should be used by more experienced vapors who want to match the volts to the resistance of the coil being used. You need an understanding of ohm's law or you're going to burn out your coils too fast or not give them enough power. I suggest using the wattage mode. The vamo will put out the right amount of volts for the coil installed and you can just adjust watts to the temp and vape production you want. Much easier for the average user and sometimes your coils resistance will change slightly as you use it. If you're in wattage mode you won't have to worry about adjusting. Just find the watt setting you like and vape away. I have a vamo V3 and a V5. I run both at about 9 watts it's a good setting for me. Not too warm but good vapor production.
  2. Yeah I guess I should have looked into that a little more it was kind of an impulse buy. Thanks for the reply I'll look around for a magnet spacer. It's hitting pretty well with a .57 build on it right now. I really like the crown rda it's just kind of a pain with the screw off top but it's pretty easy to drip into it with the tip off. Plenty of space in the well of it.
  3. I just got a tobeco black panzer clone with a crown rda clone to top it with. Loving the crown rda so far. The mod works fine but even with the pin unscrewed to make connection with my vtc 5 there is a lot of play in the tube. When I fire it everything locks up tight of course and it functions fine but I just can't stand that battery rattle. What can be done to fix this? Different pin that is longer or maybe a battery spacer? Do you have to use the magnet ones and are they safe to use just that or will they slide around and cause a short? Best to use it on the bottom (negative) end of the battery or positive?
  4. Just wanted to give a thumbs up to the customer service at V3tronix and say how much I enjoy my flip mod. At almost $300 for a personal engraved mod with deep laser etching you have to expect the best and nothing but quality but they really deliver that and then great customer service. I got mine back a few weeks ago and everything was perfect except two small things. One, the threaded ring that is replaceable (great feature) was installed backwards when I got it so after scratching my head a few minutes wondering why I couldn't get any of my atomizers or clearos to screw down I tried turning that thread ring upside down and that was the culprit. Every device fit flush and perfect after that. Second, the firing button was just a little gritty and hard to turn from the locked to unlocked position. This great on and off and short throw fire was one reason I wanted the mod. I figured I could just drop some wd40 or something in there and smooth it out but I didn't want to do that without contacting customer service. I sent an email today and got a response in literally five minutes. They sent me a picture and details how to line up the grooves and get some WD40 in there. A few twists to work it in and my switch is buttery smooth and switches on and off like a precision machine. Love the mod and how great it performs and looks. I have a few clones too so I'm not that mod snob guy who thinks only an authentic is the way to go. I got this because I wanted one really great mod that was authentic and I could have custom engraved. A piece that looks great and I could enjoy for a long time. Happy I went with the flip and love the great customer service from v3tronix. If you're on the fence about spending the money for one but really would like something special for the collection I highly recommend it. I can use my clones and vape away but nothing I have compares to this level of quality and how great it works. Ok enough testimonial. I'm not getting paid for this lol.
  5. Got a small juice order today from giant vapes and didn't see a review of one of them so figured I would post my opinion. I got 30ml 12mg nic and it's a 50/50 blend of PG/VG which is pretty standard for me. I don't like a lot of PG so the most I do is 50/50 and mostly go with max of 80% VG if it's available. I do like the extra taste from some PG but the throat hit gets too harsh if I go beyond that. Anyway I tried this Mad Alchemist-Twice in a blue moon flavor and here is what they say to describe it. "Twice in a Blue Moon is a delectable blend of blueberry and pie crust, with a hint of cinnamon, that combine to create a perfect blueberry cinnamon crumble." I feel this is a good description of the flavor. The blueberry is somewhat subtle but you can definitely taste the cinnamon but it's not overpowering. Just enough to give you that blueberry pie or bakery muffin taste. I don't know if I get the pie crust flavor but perhaps after more steeping it will come through. Overall I'm pretty happy with it. $19.99 for 30ml isn't cheap but isn't overpriced in my mind. It's a fair price for this juice. I'm not sure if I will order more or not perhaps in the future and if I really start to enjoy it by the end of the bottle. I'm certainly not disappointed though. If you like a good blueberry spice muffin flavor this is the perfect flavor combo.
  6. Welcome and congrats. You'll have moments early on where you feel like you want a cigarette but stay strong and keep vaping. After a few months when the old smoking crap coughs up from your lungs and you get your taste and smelling back you'll hate the smell of them and be completely glad you made the switch to vaping.
  7. Yeah not a bad deal for the price. I'd probably use the fakes for going outdoors so if you drop it and break the glass you're not out as much lol.
  8. Efest 35A are just rewrapped LG 20amps. I wouldn't trust them in my mech mods with subohm builds. No way. Sony VTC5 only. They can pulse up to 50 amps and 30amps continuous. Never even screw your atty on the mod until you put it on an ohm meter. I build it and check it. Wick it and check it. Then juice it and fire it to see both are burning and pumping out clouds. Then cap it and enjoy. Gotta be safe man damn.
  9. You might have other issues with the mod I can't tell without looking at it but I can say that trustfire is pure garbage and if you continue to use it to vape you're asking for problems. I wouldn't use the samsung either but that's me and since I was told not to use a samsung ICR like I had I got a pair of the efest button top 18650 like I was told and it's been amazing. On a full charge I can pretty much use my v5 all day for two days before it dies. You use that trustfire in a mech mod and you'll likely blow it up.
  10. Just got two of my juice orders in today. 3 flavors from Space Jam and the other had 30ml of suicide bunny mother's milk. It's not bad but honestly from all the hype so many people talk about it's kind of disappointing. I don't get much strawberry out of it but a lot of cream. Not a very delicious cream either. It's good enough I'll finish the bottle but I won't reorder it.
  11. I've made it a rule I won't buy off ebay. Too much crap floating around. Hopefully your fakes work out ok, the legit nautlius is a real beast for a clearomizer. Pretty great flavor too. I found a place that sold a 5 pack of coil heads for 9.99 and most charge 15.99 so I hope those are legit coils. Should de.
  12. Trustfire is not a good battery. That's for flashlights. That charger is ok but you don't have the right batteries. I used samsung's with my vamo v3 but was told not to use them with the V5 by the company that sold it to me. They are ICR I think and not IMR. Not sure I was just told use the efest IMR 18650 and it's been a great mod. No problems getting several hours of vape time per charge and no heat whatsoever. You got to really be careful about the batteries you use. Don't go cheap or off brand. I use efest for VV/VW and nothing but sony vtc5 for mech mods.
  13. Don't expect good results from anything with crappy batteries. Use an efest 2000mah IMR 18650 battery and enjoy. Mine works great with them and I get about two solid days of vaping per charge with my vamo v5 using an aspire nautilus tank.
  14. If I put my devices in my pocket I'd probably want to clean more OCD like too. I just don't have small mods and use a carrying case for the one I do take out. I also use disposable silicon drip tip things to stick over the drip tip if I do want to keep stuff out when not in use.
  15. I briefly clean my nautilus when I'm changing juice. Just a little cold water rinse and a few q-tips to clean and dry quickly. Might do a quick dry burn on the coil head if the change in juice is drastic. Like a dessert or custard juice going to something fruity. Then a few drops down the coil to speed up the new wicking and refill the tank. Same process with my protank 2. For my RBAs I just rinse and do the same with drying with qtips. Will pull out the cotton wick and do a dry burn on the coils so they burn off all that discolored juice gunk. Then I rewick and juice. I don't go for the hot water and soap scrubs or anything. Maybe I will after a few months of use or if I can taste old juice. I just rinse out drip tips and blow them dry too.
  16. Like he said it could be starting to be on it's last leg but many VV/VW devices are not terribly accurate at reading. Just close enough. I find removing the coil and screwing it back in will usually change the reading slightly if it's off. It's not going to hurt anything so just use it until it needs replaced. Love my nautilus tank and I sometimes have a 1.8 coil head read at 1.9 on my vamo v5, It's normal sometimes.
  17. I do dual coil subohm builds on the igo w and brass monkey. The builds on the russian 91% are between 1.3-1.8 ohm single micro coil. All give great taste and battery life but the flip mod is pretty good about battery drop. For the pain of building and wicking and bottom fill on the russian 91% though I tend to use my aspire nautilus much more. It's just easier and it gives the same vapor and taste as the russian. The 91% is also very top heavy but if you are going for good looks and the ability to rebuild it does do that.
  18. big fan of the nautilus tank. I use mine on my vamo v5 and it just delivers every day. Good taste for a clearo and the coils last me a solid two weeks if not longer. I've had it flood maybe once or twice only briefly but if you open up the airflow to max it clears out in one or two vapes. Worth the money and worth the extra price in replacment coils I think. I have a protank 2 that I replaced the bottom with the airflow control unit and that made it much better but it's still not the nautilus. Still floods and gurgles more often but it's great for taking outdoors and in the truck. I only buy tanks or attys with adjustable airflow now. No reason not to in my opinion.
  19. currently v3tronix flip mod and brass monkey rda with a custom pineapple pina colada juice ordered from mount baker vapor.
  20. I guess the vamo is a tad advanced for someone with no electronics knowledge or interest in knowing the basics beyond pushing a button and sucking. I jumped right in with a V3 and protank 2 and didn't find it challenging at all but I also build computers and have basics of electronics and beyond in my past education. I just hear a lot of people get a ego twist and tank and then a month later are going with something beyond that. Either way the twist and stuff like that is nice for a vape in the car and to travel with. Just don't expect to spend $50 on it and be done with vape purchases for life I guess is what I'm saying. If you're into tinkering and getting the most out of things you'll be back in a few months asking about a mech mod and rebuildable atomizer.
  21. That's a large enough budget you can get something pretty nice. I enjoy my vamo v5 with the aspire nautilus clearomizer tank. It's safe and easy to get started. Variable wattage just lets you find a setting you like and it does the job of pushing out the voltage you need for the resistance of coil you have in place. For this tank either 1.6 or 1.8 You can get this setup, a charger, and a pair of 18650 2250mah batteries for about 120$ from http://www.myvaporstore.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=VAM5-SS I've used them before and never had a problem with my order. You can get an extra pack of coil heads for that tank and some ejuice and you'll be good to go. Of course there are a lot of other options that won't cost nearly all your budget but if you want something that performs and the battery and size of tank will last you all day of vaping this setup does that and then some. I have the same mod and tank and have gone 2 or even three days on the same battery charge and without refilling the tank with juice. Even if I do run out of battery life this place sells them in pairs with the charger so you're good to go while you charge the dead battery. If you want to save money just go with an ego twist battery and a cheap tank but there is a good chance you are wanting to upgrade after you get into vaping and not smoking so I believe it's best to buy the better stuff sooner. http://www.myvaporstore.com/Joye_eGo_C_Twist_Variable_Voltage_1000mAh_Battery_p/ego-c-tstxl.htm http://www.myvaporstore.com/Innokin_iClear_16_Dual_Coil_Ego_Clearomizer_p/ink-ic16.htm
  22. From what they blend I like the ecto cooler I think best. Pink champagne and rainbow sherbert are also great. Have a caramel candy I haven't tried yet though. My absolute favorite is something I custom order and it's 1 part pineapple 1 part pina colada. Usually a 50/50 PG/VG at 12mg nicotine. Extra flavor shot of pineapple. It's just delicious and makes a great all day vape.
  23. I got a green cap v3tronix flip mod a few weeks ago. First mech mod. Pricey but absolutely beautiful and delivers on performance. I've used it with my russian 91%, an IGO W, and most often with my brass monkey rda. It's my avatar with the brass monkey on it. Had it engraved for an extra $25 and worth it. I use it with a sony vtc5 18650 no kick. Subohm .5-.7 dual micro coil builds with 28 ga. kanthal. Couldn't be happier.
  24. Been vaping since this past November and until this week I got all my juice from Mount Baker Vapor. Love the price and custom options but I was getting ready to build my first RDA subohm coils and decided I needed to try some premium juice and branch out. Got 15ml of Uncle Junk's Honey Do at 12mg nicotine and I have to say it blew me away. The taste is absolutely phenomenal. It's exactly like a fresh honey dew melon flavor. Highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for something reasonable priced that delivers on the flavor. I got it from www.v-apes.com for $10 I believe. Glass bottle with a dripper. I'm going to be going back for more and probably make it an all day vape. Have only tried it in my brass monkey RDA on the v3tronix flip mod so I expect the taste to be less in one of my clearomizers but still adequate. I gave it no extra steep time I think it was mixed months ago anyway so it was good to go.
