Oh wow .. I was wondering if Ouster had made this thread. I was going to pitch in. Guess now I'll sit and wait it out. I hope for the sake of human decency that this guy isn't full of ****.

My husband has been deployed twice. Both times on a base with an APO. Not exactly sure how it works, but I'm thinking if it's a base with all the necessities meaning goods coming in and out I would think there to be an APO.

Regardless of how this turns out I want you all to know that you've succeeded in showing myself and each of us how truly good natured people can be. For me, it really touches the heart and proves that we haven't all sold our souls. Thank you for reinforcing our faith in humanity. Give yourselves kudos...no more talk of feeling foolish!

I was driving to my friends house tonight, vapin' on some super yummy VT grape soda. As I pulled into the Tim Horton's coffee shop (usual stop on my way to his house), I was thinking about that super yummy VT grape soda and how I probably would have never tried it if it weren't for this awesome community's pay-it-forward disposition. At that very moment, a warm fuzzy feeling filled my gut and I felt all giddy! (Yeah, it's cheesy, but whatever!) I started to think of ways that I can contribute to the community in a pay-it-forward sense. After a few minutes of pondering, it dawned on me... why limit this to just the on-line community? It felt like some sort of revelation. When I got to the window to get my coffee, I paid for mine and ended up paying for the car behind me too, (figures they had a $10 order!) I told the guy at the window to let the car behind me know I said "you're welcome, just Pay-it-Forward some day". It felt sooo good to do that, even if it cost me $11.55 for a medium coffee! Heck, it was well worth it. Maybe next time I'll get lucky and only have one other cup of coffee to cover!

To make a long story short, I wanted to give props to the following individuals. Luke "vaporgalaxy.com", nico and fusion.

A few days ago luke told me he wanted to meet me to give me a sample of juice and maybe sell me a ego kit. So after planning the desired location and what time to meet up, I met luke at a local pub near us. Luke pulls up, and I greet him with a nice hello. He gets out of his car with a ego kit, 2 juices from vaporgalaxy.com and drip tip, and lr atty. He says "This is on behalf of the community for having your first child and soon to be birthday." I thought he was kidding but he was completely serious. He handed over the ego, etc... and I gave him a nice man hug. Heehee.

I just wanted to say that I am completely grateful for the friends I have made on here, and all the respect that has been given to me over the past 30+ days.

    All of you are awesome.

To make sure you understand the fundamentals, dripping is when users circumvent the loaded cartridge and choose to drip the liquid directly on the atomiser. This is preferred by many as they cite better flavor and performance from the device. While this will work with most e-cigs, it will not with some, particularly automatic batteries. Auto battery users need to "dip" the atomizer into the liquid.

A video explaining dripping can be found here:

    http://www.youtube.com/user/ChrisFromCali#p/u/18/h14QDp4v3O4

I do prefer to drip and when I do, I have found that i choose the long plastic drip tips. I find the metal ones get too hot for me and the short ones can sometimes allow hot fluid to hit your tongue. The long black tips can be found here (although out of stock) a google search will likely find you others.

As you all know, Nana and I won the "Pay it Forward" contest and are now both the proud owners of a Mark's Woody (Thanks again Mark!!!).

In the spirit of Mark's "pay it forward" contest, Nana and I have teamed up and would like to pay it forward. This contest is for newer vapers and we've tried to put together a prize package that will be beneficial to someone just starting out. To be eligible, you must have a "joined" date between April 1, 2010 and the date of this post. Of course, we can't verify how long someone has bee vaping, but we're asking that you only enter this contest if you started vaping after April 1st, 2010. You also must have 5 posts (so that you can PM).

The contest will be open until Saturday, May 29th at 6PM EST.

What do you have to do to win? Just post a reply and say whatever you want, what's on your mind (within the forum rules). Each eligible member can only have one entry. If more than one post is made by a single member, only the first post made will be included in the contest.

How will the winner be chosen? We'll use the random number method.

    What's up for grabs:
    1. Joye 510 Starter Kit (Brand new "no box" kit ordered from Cygnet - 2 attys, 2 batts, charger, 5 carts).
    2. 510 Hard carry case.
    3. 510 PT
    4. 5 pack of 510 cartomizers.
    5. Some extra carts
    6. Some blue foam
    7. Some fluval foam
    9. Some Pyramid Tea Bags (courtesy of FTJoe)

    and... (drum roll please)

    10. The VT Collection E-Liquid Sample Pack (this will be ordered at the VT Store and shipped directly to you)

Additionally, I will be going through all the juice I've acquired over the last six months and including everything I don't use, which will probably be 10 to 15 additional bottles of juice from various suppliers. I'll post a list later.

Good luck and thanks for playing!

Everyone here has been so very helpful and supportive I thought you would all like to know how the first 30 ( or so ) days as a vaper has gone. On April 20th I got my first Electronic Cigarette. A nice looking KR808 from a company called SmokeTip. I was very happy with the everything about vaping except the vapor production. On to the web I go to do research, after looking up SmokeTips competitors a ran across this forum.

After a long night, and much of the early morning hours, of reading the posts here and making a few posts myself I decided to purchase a Totally Wicked Tornado. While waiting for my nifty new toy to arrive I order a bunch ( And I mean a whole lot) of E Liquids. Well for the next couple of days I bounced back and forth from analogs to my E Cig ( a one hour battery life was like a tease of what Vaping could be).

Then not only my Tornado arrived but a bunch of juices as well. I was like a kid in a candy store. If I was awake and not working I was Vaping. Trying this flavor, trying Direct Dripping, Trying 100% PG, Trying 100% VG, a 50/50 mix, Pyramid Tea Bag Mods, Straw Mods ( Face it if someone here posted something a noob could do then I was trying it).My obsession ( well ok maybe obsession is a tad strong of a word.. Let's say Hobby that way profession help isn't needed ) was so bad that at work they took to calling my Tornado my "Crack Pipe".I was also on line just about every night looking over the VT forum and checking out every supplier that google could show me. I bought more Juices,A multi pack of batteries, and atomizers ( after all you have to have spares right?).

Then four days ago a tragic accident, while screwing one of my batteries into the charger I tighten it a bit too much and I broke the charger.Well I had four batteries fully charged and one hat was half charged so I rationed my vaping ( no more just sitting in front of the computer vaping away the night away just when I needed that nic hit)and placed an order for a multi charger from Totally Wicked. Well my rationing worked until today with all my batteries dead ( including the KR808) I had to break down and buy a pack of analogs I wasn't happy about it but I had to . Then this afternoon my new charger arrived and I put five batteries onto charge ( Yes five Tornado Batteries will fit on the multi charger). I then did something that I could not do the twenty years I was a pack a day smoker I threw away a half a pack of analogs. The amazing part was I didn't even flinch when I did it, just tossed them in the trash with out a second thought. Now I sit vaping away the night and letting you know how it has been going.

If my charger hadn't died I would have never pick up another analog. Now that I have a charger back (barring another major crisis) I will not be picking up another analog. Now I have to get a back up charger.....and maybe a Pass Through....and maybe a wetbox..... Somehow I dont think I am ever gonna stop buying PVs <shrug> I could think of worse fates.... Thanks everyone.

Dehydration is a vapers worse enemy.Glad to hear you are feeling better, and that your lungs ( after all the abuse of analogs) sound good. As for you juice may I suggest 99Vapors.com. All of their juices are 100% VG ( get away from the PG just in case that is causing any problems)and thier customer service is beyond excellent. Their shipping is very reasonable, their response time is excellent ( from Houston Texas to New Hampshire in 3 days). The flavors are excellent from single flavors (Coffee, Pomegranate, Watermelon) to complex flavors ( Bayou Blend, Shivas Tea, Raspberry Espresso Truffle).

Sorry I seem to have rambled on about them, I almost sound like a salesman.... In short great flavors, great company.

Yup I get nose bleeds quite often. I exhale through my nose all the time and have not noticed a major difference. If you notice the blood is light red then the bleeding is coming via the bottom of your nose. A little Vaseline will help. What really helps me believe it or not is placing a bowl of water next to my bed. Someone gave me this advice a long time ago and believe it or not it works.

If you notice the blood is dark and seems to becoming from the top end of your nose (closest to your eyes) this can be a sign of high blood pressure.

For now however I'd suggest exhaling through your mouth and drinking lots and lots of fluids. (Good fluids IE water)

PG (Propylene Glycol) is the primary ingredient in E Liquid and it's known to dry out the skin.

along the way I have tried all(most) of the mods and fillers. Here's my 2 cents:

The blue foam is my absolute favorite. since switching over to the blue foam a couple months ago--it has significantly reduced my dripping and/or topping off the cart. the 510 cart holds about 12 drops, push the blue foam into the liquid, fluff back to the top of the cart. The blue foam is smaller than the other fillers and basically acts as a plug. has also reduced leakage and cheap.

My second choice is fluval 2 plus found on amazon or at petshops. its an aquarium filter that is easily cut to size for carts of all sizes. fluval makes many types of filter material, but the 2 plus works the best over all.

Pyramid tea bags were too much work for me and never seemed to wick as well. polly fill and such were either too fibrous or would give off a burn taste.

Ultimately it comes down to personal preference.

    Happy vaping

When I went camping, over all my PCC being charged in the car worked great. I would just charge it while were out driving aroung, usually will recharge about 4 510's before I need to recharge the case.
I also have a car adapter that you can plug standard plug equipment into, has a surge protector. works great--I'm pretty sure I got that one a walmart.

In a week, with intermittent charging the PCC didn't let me down.

noXious reacted to Burn in Cost
I beleive it is far cheaper to DIY. My recent calculations has me at $.13 per ML, please bear in mind, I am at 8MG strenght, even 24MG would be under $.50/ml

Startup cost really isnt that bad. All you really need is dropper bottles ($.79/ea for 2dram size), rubber gloves and pipettes for transferring liquid. My Original start up costs (equipment) was under $20

For materials, I use 100MG base liquid that I get for $99 for 250ML, at 8MG strength and consuming 5ML per day, that is almost a 2 year supply. PG or VG is fairly inexpensive (make sure it is USP)as well. Many can find it locally, I just get it from online vendors. Flavoring was the key, I did not like Loranns oils very much or capellas flavorings. What I did find is that I LOVE Decadent Vapours, which is sold over at TW (Totally Wicked).

Putting the mixes together is not any more complicated that being able to count drops. You have 3 basic ingredients, liquid nic, flavoring and a dilutent. You count the drops of the 3 to make the mix. You DO want to be careful and respectful of the liquid nic power. As long as you are not reckless or sloppy about it (I make my mixes in my kitchen sink) you can be very safe.

    O.k. now for some linkage:

Here is where I got all of my supplies:

2dram plastic bottles, latex gloves, syringes, pipettes and PG/VG are all priced nicely at:

    http://www.ecigexpress.com/diy-supplies-c-3

Liquid Nicotine is purchased here, I can state from experience that the quality of the liquid is very good:

    http://myfreedomsmokes.com/diy.html

    Finally, the flavorings:

The native site of the supplier (not a store) is:

    http://www.be9.net/decadentvapours/flavours.htm
(favorite flavors include; apple pie, cafe brasiliano, french apple tart, Strawberry tart, Tiramisu, Choc o Mint, Mentholyptus and Sour Cherry)

These can be purchased at Totally Wicked
    http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/products/e-liquid-flavourings/decadent-vapours-10ml-flavour-2-product.html
(this British company ships out of the US so dont let the funny accents and bad teeth fool you)

And finally, you need to create the recipes to make your mixes. There are many but I use this one:

    http://www.tji-java-ide.com/e-cigarette/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=88

You can save your recipes, which is handy. You will see one towards the bottom called: "Decadent Vapors (Any Flavor) by Burn". That is my base recipe that I use, I created it when I was at 12 MG strength.

Whomever starts mixing their own, enjoy. Fresh juice, ability to customize and cost will all be benefits you will enjoy when creating your own.
