  1. I have read that their shipping has been terrible. Its good to hear that they changed it up. Great info!!
  2. You know I'm messing with you right? The pic is not of me or my family, just a dorky sweater vest pic that makes me laugh. I have a bunch of them.
  3. Do you mean my wife?? See is not as enthusiastic about the sweater vests as I am ( and neither are my kids, lol).
  4. I will for sure research more on batteries. But my main take away's are: Do not drain the battery down too low before recharging. And Do not go with a low resistance coil or sub-ohm coil ( saw a good video last week showing the max discharge amount for a particular ohm coil if you just kept the fire button down until the battery ran down verses what you could go up to if you just fire the battery for 5-7 seconds, it was very helpful) for these cheapo batteries. Sound about right?
  5. I am talking with a few friends to see if there is some interest in the KPT2's and coils. SO, I am not 100% committed yet, right? I'm trying to contact all my vape friends quickly to see if I can make this work.
  6. Great!! Good to know that the KPT2's work well and I do not need a kick. Thanks!! I have heard good things about RSST's. I'll check them out more. I think I need more research on kick's. No sub-ohm'ing... Yet..
  7. Cool. It says its Genuine Kamry K100 full set Here is a link. I think its legit, but I am still pretty new. Can someone take a look and confirm that its the real thing (just a clone, not a clone of a clone, lol)? http://101vape.com/29-kamry Either way I am glad I picked it up!! Now I think that I need a RBA or RDA or some thing to go on top. Right now I have a bunch of KPT2's and Evod's. Any recommendations on Rebuildable's?? Should I look into a kick (kinda defeats the purpose of a Mech, right?)? Anyways, thanks for all the helpful advice gang!! SV
  8. Thanks for all of the replies. I pulled the trigger and purchased the unit. Hard to pass up. 101vape.com is the site. It says it's genuine. I realize that the batts that come with are not that good but can I at least use the unit with them for a bit?? I bought this with the idea of the long sell for the wife. Once i get a mod then "I have to buy" better battery's later on because all of you said that they are crap. It's a tried and true plan ( I keep a salt water reef tank and the list of have to have's is large. Lol). But I have to be able use the unit as purchased for a bit to make it work. So is this kit useless as is??
  9. Hi all, Found a deal for a K100 full kit for just over $30.00. Is this a good deal (most of the reviews say that the charger and battery's are pretty low end)?? I did a search on this site and found a lot of threads that state that the K100 is a great starter mech mod. But they were older. Anything change?? I like the full kit with battery's and charger to see if I like a mod like this before I spend more on a good battery's and a good charger. Thanks for for looking, SV
  10. New job for Christmas? Naw,not for me, but I would take a nice big fat raise!!! Please Santa!
  11. I love all the comments below the article that show the vapers side if things.
  12. This is probably more of what you are looking for. I checked out the totally wicked vapor site. It seems like its a nice little outfit that puts their brand name on regular equipment (prices seem a bit high). They don't seem to have any high end mech mods or APV's like the OP is really looking for. OP- do some research on Mechanical Mods with a head that can be rebuilt (maybe the quad coil is too much, but a dual coil might be right for you). Be careful with Mech mods, they are unregulated and can cause some safety issues. Not really for beginners. SV
  13. I sampled some two weeks ago, I did not think I liked the absinthe flavor... But the Pluid was crazy delicious. Pretty expensive though, so I picked up a bottle of Mad Murdocks Agent Orange instead. Next time I think I have to pick up the Pluid.
  14. Its like the talk radio shows. Only about 3-5% of the listeners ever call and give an opinion, but there are a lot of others listening to the opinions of the vocal minority. I would/could imagine that the forums are close to the same percentages. There has to be a need out there for the cigalike and other cheap ego style batts for all of the big tobacco companies to be putting so much money into this. I had my first online order with Veteran Vapers. I went right off of BCarters newbie start up guide and got a nice starter kit. I ordered on a Thursday or Friday... By Sunday I stopped by my regular analog smoke shop and inquired about their reusable e-cigs, and bought a little starter kit. I did this because I was so excited to give vaping a try, I could not wait one more day to try one. It ended up being a proprietary threading that only worked with their tanks and battery's. I was able to sell it off to a friend who was interested in getting off of analogs (at a loss of course).
  15. Went to a newly found B&M store and sampled their line of juice. They claim that they "boost" their juice and that they are one of the few that will sell up to 36mg of nic. I have found that starting out at 24 mg was maybe too much for me (I would get a little light headed when vaping hard) so my purpose stopping in there was to get a lower nic amount juice. Bought 3 flavors: Space Tart 10 ml Martian Dew 10 ml Johnny 555 30 ml All at 18mg 50/50 Their prices were sky high so IDK if I will go back ($8.00 for 10ml, $20.00 for 30ml)... Its pretty darn good though, so maybe.
  16. I hear what you are saying...And for the most part agree. Further more, I would say that most folks on an online e-cig chat forum are going to be the more die hard proponents of the movement. I think we all would agree that buying all of our paper towel and toilet paper for a 10 years period in bulk would be the most cost effective... But I don't know many that do that. I think that the same goes for newcomers to vaping. They are not sure if they want to invest a couple of hundred dollars to see if it will work for them. They might start small with a cigalike, and move on to an ego style batt, then to a full mod. I feel that if the movement takes off and you start to shift folks from analogs to e-cigs there will be lots of new vendors both online and B&M. The stores that have good business practices and can show value to their customers will weed out the ones who don't. I am very interested to see if any big tobacco companies are looking into B&M shops?? Right now it seems that they are just interested in the disposable cigalike market.
  17. I think a lot comes down to convenience... In your example, you bought 4 KPT's and knew that you needed 4 KPT's, so you shopped for the best deal. When I bought my first KPT2, I bought it from a B&M store. I knew I was paying a little more for it, but I could see what it came with, and the rep showed me how it worked and the difference between the mini version. I was able to take it home right then and there... To me it was a plus experience (and for that I was willing to pay the mark up charges). Now if I were going to buy 4 more, I would not go back to the B&M store, I would research to find the best price. A lot of current and former smokers are use to buying a pack or two at a time from their local gas station/convenience store. I did not know many who would calculate how many packs they go through in a year and then purchase a years supply to drive the cost per unit down. Heck, I don't know many smokers who buy cartons. I know that I never liked it... To me it was committing to staying smoking for the at least the length of time it would take me to finish a carton. I did not like that. I would have rather paid more per pack and not have a huge commitment. B&M stores are needed (and I would love there to be a lot more), and I have no problem with their costs being slightly more (I do not like the ones that mark up way too much). But I don't look at them as being apples to apples comparison to online vendors, I feel that both are needed and can coexist. If the government bans online e-juice sales, B&M stores are going to be very busy. SV
  18. Wow, those prices are pretty high. I do agree that a B&M store will/should have slightly higher prices, but this is really pushing it. What kind of location did they have? Super high traffic retail location (where the rent is crazy high)? Or do you think this guy was just being greedy? In Metro Detroit we really don't have a lot of B&M stores, I have been trying to visit some local ones and there are a couple within a half hour drive for me. I stopped at one this weekend and they had high prices ($26.00 for KPT2 and same price for Anyvape Davides. $90.00 for MVP V2, $8.00 for 10ml juice, $20.00 for 30ml juice). But the juice was good and they mix it right on the spot. I am willing to pay a little more for the ability to walk in, sample, taste, and touch products. But I only bought juice from this new B&M store ( I was about to pick up a Anyvape Davide, but the almost $10.00 mark up was too steep for me), and would probably not consider them for hardware (with was pretty limited, I should add).
  19. Cool Video. I wonder if it was promoting a store or brand??
  20. I picked up a second KPT 2, and a small atomizer to try dripping, along with a bottle of Mad Murdock's Agent Orange (YUM!!).
  21. An almost 10 minute story on NPR. It seems pretty impartial, giving a balanced view. http://www.npr.org/2013/10/21/239269426/e-cigarettes-a-nearly-2bn-industry-a-regulatory-wild-west I hope I am not in trouble for posting a link. Mods, feel free to remove it if it is a no no. The story talks about the dual users, smokers who will vape indoors and smoke everywhere else. IMHO I feel that it will be a low percentage of the population of vapers. For me, I went to vaping to get away from analogs. I liked that I could do both for a couple of days until I felt comfortable moving all the way to vaping. And to tell you the truth, I probably had more analogs then I really wanted to just to finish the pack. I would have one burning in the ashtray while I was taking a toot on my PV, not even thinking about it. I realize that ecigs can not be sold as a smoking cessation product, but I hope that changes in the future. Because for me it was the tool I needed to get me over the hump. I love the part at the end where the guy says that all of the PV's make you look uncool. That struck a positive cord for me... I'm not doing it to look cool... I'm doing it so I don't smoke!!!! That is the message that should be put out there.
  22. Oh... Sorry!!! I was reading too fast. Thanks Spydre for bringing up the cold as something to look out for.
  23. Wow. Thanks for all of the replies. I love everyone's setups. Some are crazy!! I think that I will take a little trip to a hobby/craft store or maybe a hardware store and look for some storage " tackle" boxes. Tam, brought up a very interesting topic. Vaping equipment and the cold. It has been starting to get pretty cold up here in Michigan. Today it was 37 degrees on the way into work. I have been leaving all my vaping gear in the garage, it is attached and does not get as cold as it does outside, but pretty close. I have read that juice can be refrigerated, so I am not too concerned about that, but what about my PV's?? Can the cold damage my devices??
  24. You win!!! Lulz The vape shop in Kalamazoo is off of Portage Rd and I-94, across from the Airport. They have a shop up in GR too and building another in Kzoo off of W. Main St.
