  1. Forget the wattage.  it's not important.

whatever coil you put in, set the voltage at about 3.7 V.   then vape it and adjust up from there. somewhere in there you will find a sweet spot. Make a note of the wattage (watts are a product of voltage accross the resistance (ohm))

whenever you use a different ohm coil, do the same thing.  If your using the same coil, vape the wattage you found works.

the higher the voltage (or wattage - same difference) the more you will shorten coil life. So if you want longer life, be conservative in your power settings.

A brand new coil will take higher power for a while.  But you are likely to burn it out faster. there is always a trade off.

I usually vape any coil I make at 3.9 - 4.2 volts and let the wattage fall where it may. (I get long coil life - 2 to 4 weeks). You can't adjust voltage and wattage separately.  they are tied together.  When you "raise the wattage" you are really just increasing the voltage across the coil.  Raise the voltage and the watts goes up. lower the voltage and the watts go down.

Its fine to remember the wattage and use that number to set your mod as manufacturers seem to realize that people focus in the wattage. But it's really the voltage you are changing.

It's like a car.  The speedometer doesnt make the car go.  You dont "raise the speedometer", (wattage), you give it more gas (voltage).

  2. Is the center pin, down in the hole, on your mod spring loaded?   or is it adjustable?

the center pin on your tank is not reaching the center pin on your mod.  some things to check:

    1. if the center pin on your mod is adjustable, you need to raise it.

    2.  If it's spring loaded, it may be stuck down.   use a small screw driver,  needle or similar to pop it back up.  sometimes on new mods the spring loaded center pin is a little rough.  work it a few times to make sure its fully extended. Keep it clean and juice free so it doesnt get stuck down.

    3. On your tank, when you screw the coil in, it needs to be in all the way.  it pushes on the center pin of your tank and has to be all the way screwed in, or, you need to slightly pull out the center pin on the bottom of your tank.

    hope that helps

  3. I would add 2 loops each coil and start there but it wont make much difference if your nic is too high.

you should be using a coil calculator for your builds.

  4. you are vaping VERY LOW ohms, which means lots of heat.

you should be vaping low nicotine at that power, like 3 mg

too high of nicotine gives a burning sharp flavor at that high heat.

you could build higher ohm coils (more wraps or loops as you call them)

or, turn you mod way down and work up.

Also, some flavors are extra sharp at high wattage.

  5. also,  turn your mod down when you do this like 40 watts maybe , something like that.

you're frying the wire, too much power and too long on the button

  6. yeah the bottom one is ohms.   .15 ohms

so you are testing it before cotton and firing it and that's when it breaks?

    where does it break?

and how long are you testing it?

that is very low ohms and it wont tolerate much dry firing....

  7. I've seen this reaction in some people.

Most likely it is because she is too tentative in taking a puff. because she starts coughing, she gets more tentative.   and the cycle just continues.

does she pull the vapor in her mouth and then inhale like you would a cigarette?

or does she pull it directly in to the lung?

  8. well well.  it's a regular party this week.  Hi Vapemama. glad to hear from everybody, Rich and cany.

walt,  I got asked to do an album this year too and I'm pretty excited about that. I'm in the middle of learning 12 original tunes for this guy and I'll be contributing a lot of guitar work on it.  It's basically a blues/rock project so it's just gonna be pure fun, no pressure.

Earthling, I've had good luck with HG2's.  'course not being a super high power vapor helps. I was checking out the whole pod system arena a whike back but I never got further than one unit whi h now sits unused.  I just cant get back in to the whole gear thing.  Over the last couple of years our vape budget has dropped to next to nothing and I like it that way.

  9. Hey Earthling.  good to hear from you.  hope your recovery is smooth and complete. Sorry to hear about that.

I'm a rare poster these days myself.  The wife and I have settled in to a 3mg groove.  we have a stockpile of unopened gear, cotton and coil wire and are set for years to come.  I've been making my own juice now for the better part of a couple of years and so life is good.  I've kind of gotten put of the "mod game" so I'm quickly falling behind but that's ok with me.  We still support vaping and promote it whenever.  occasionally I drop in here to embarrass myself with my outdated knowledge, lol and keep up with old friends.  It's been pretty quiet lately but still in the game.

    Best wishes from sunny California.
