Well, security at San Francisco didn't bat an eye. I had my whole kit in my backpack, which includes 2 complete setups, and 4 extra clearomizers with a packet of coils and a bottle of juice. While waiting for the plane, I just moved to a quieter location away from the crowd and didn't make a big deal out of it and vaped away.

It was interesting. We changed planes in Atlanta. I had never been to Atlanta airport. They have "smoking rooms". It was a little weird. My wife and I decided to just use the smoking room to vape in - when in Rome, ya know. It was actually pretty disgusting. This is the first time I was around smokers like this since I quit. There were maybe a dozen guys in there. The first thing was the smell. Wow, even with the ventilation fans going it was pretty bad. Then I just noticed that most of these people looked depressed and kind of sickly and it struck me oddly. 2 months ago, I don't think I would have thought anything of it. These rooms are all glass. You feel like you're in a cage. At one point i could see this older couple approaching the glass doors, they stop at the door and the women fiddles in her purse, comes up with a cig and then comes in to the room with us. The husband stays outside the glass. She's got some kind of 100's and she starts puffing away. On the other side of the glass the husband is patiently waiting for her to finish. Once in a while he looks in toward her and she holds up the ciggy showing him where she is on it. This goes on for a few minutes and I feel for him. I'm so glad my wife and I are doing this together.

I'm impressed that many of their agendas SUPPORT bans of sales to minors.
IMO this proves that this industry is capable of self-regulation and responsible commerce.

I second Mike on this one. I got an AWESOME mountain bike (shocks and all 16-speed) for like $30 at a yard sale.

A Noobie's Guide to Batteries

While in the chat room one night, someone was asking if there was a guide for batteries. He was hearing all these battery numbers in the conversation, and not familiar enough to follow along. I decided to write this guide to help familiarize the noobs to all the batteries we use for mods.



All of the batteries we use are either 3.7volts or 3.0volts. There is however a 5volt battery used in the Mako Maksi, but it's not one of the popular batteries you frequently hear about, so I'll just concentrate this discussion on the 3 and 3.7volt varieties.



The 3.0volt batteries are primarily used in pairs for a total of 6.0volts for 6volt vaping, and single battery mods are 3.7volts. The 3.7volt batteries are usually only paired if the mod has a voltage regulator (adjustable or fixed) for consistency in voltage throughout battery life and load conditions. Now that you have a little background on how the batteries are used, let's try to make sense out of the numbering system.



The first 2 digits of the battery number indicate the dimension measuring across the battery. So a 10440 measures 10mm across, a 14500 measures 14mm across, and so forth, and the last 3 digits make reference to the length. For example the last 3 digits in a 14500 battery would suggest that the length would be 50.0mm long, but that would be for the unprotected version of the battery. The overcharge/overdischarge protection circuit will add between 2 and 3 mm to the length of the battery, so a 14500 is really 52.5mm long.



Aside from the physical size of the battery, there is something referred to as mah (milliamp hour) rating. This is a capacity rating of the battery, and indicates the amount of energy the battery can store. In other words, how long it will last between charges (more mah, more charge life). Physical size will affect mah ratings, and therefore smaller size batteries will typically have lower mah ratings. Some batteries are available in more than 1 mah rating.

This is an overview of my juice and equipment shelves Here is the closeups I much prefer glass for holding my ready to vape or not as the case may be. Various bits and pieces that tend to accumulate. I keep my PG/VG in 2 each blue jars, My Nic in Amber jars, and Premixed in a Amber jar. These are 9 oz. short wide mouth glass jars Seem to work better for me easier to siphon out liquid and less chance of tipping over. Here are some of my flavors for DIY Can you tell I like Wizard Labs. Some more flavors including VZ super concentrated and lorann's plus other brands. Also syringes, pipettes, and plastic boxs for everything else. A couple of projects that I so far have not had time to do are make a stand for PV's. and a small wood cabinet to hold all vaping supplies. Hopefully soon. What do you folks think? Kinda OCD right. I can relate to what that Wiki info is talking about. Part of the whole reason I won't go back to standard resistance is because I just can't seem to get that big beautiful cloud of vapor with a SR atty. If I'm vaping, I gotta see the cloud Otherwise, a hit is just not satisfying for me. Weird, I know.

Lately I've been vaping about 3-5 mls of 6mg per day. How that relates to what I was getting for nic when I was smoking a pack per day of Marb lights, I have no idea. Some days I chain vape at work, just because my boss doesn't care, as long as it's not in view of the public. And at night when I'm hanging out on the computer, I pretty much chain vape. So yeah, I vape pretty constantly all day long lol. It wasn't as bad when the only battery I had wasn't a pass-through. At least I would take a break when it was charging. Now, I have a pass thru and no excuse to put it down :P

Keep in mind though that nicotine by itself is only about as addictive as caffeine. However a cigarette has over 200 addictive compounds in it so initially we vape more to get the same effect. Just my. 02... :-)
