  1. She does have an adult son who comes by a few (3) times a week to check on her and help her with shopping etc. The way I'm leaning now is toward a 510 setup with prefilled cartos that possibly her son can refill on the days he's visiting. The wetbox (although a GREAT idea) might be too sophisticated should something act up on her while she's alone. I'm still thinking though, keep these awesome ideas coming!
  2. No apologies needed, thanks a lot FTJoe for the tips! I wasn't looking exclusively for visually impaired people, just good info that I can pick from in making a choice that best suits her. Anyone, sighted or not can give their input on this. I've edited my original post for clarity. Thanks again! P.S. Thanks for the awesome wetbox idea!
  3. Hi VaporTalk, A while back, e-cigs came into my life and changed it forever. Along the way, I've been passing what I know and my story onto my friends, acquaintances and anyone who asks. Recently, my wife met someone who has been a smoker for many, many years. This person just got some health news from her Doctor and has been told to stop smoking immediately. This wonderful lady is a senior citizen and she lost her eyesight several years ago. She's asked that my wife and I come visit her so I can show her my pv (Joye 510) but I'm planning on purchasing a starter kit of some kind, to present to her when I meet her. This community has a LOT of people in it, I'm hoping that SOMEONE who has trouble seeing or knows a visually impaired vaper or anyone in our community might give me some ideas on pv's that they have used and which ones might be the best choice for her to get started with. I worry that she will have trouble refilling carts, and I certainly don't think she'll want to drip. Would pre-filled cartos be her best bet? I need to find something that's almost hassle free for her convenience. ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. If anyone can help me help her, I know VaporTalk can.
  4. I'm just glad to hear you didn't leave it on the roof and drive off and lose it on the road someplace!
  5. Welcome to VaporTalk first off and I felt something similar when I first started vaping, harsh cough, dry throat..etc. What worked for me was when I ran out of the pre-filled carts that came with my starter kit and got some nice fresh juice and started refilling my carts with it, it all went away. Next thing I noobed was going a tad too high on my strength, figuring I needed more nic to kinda 're-create' what I was using in analogs. Ended up with racing heartbeat and a little lightheaded. When I adjusted down on my nic, THAT all went away. For me, it's all pure enjoyment now. At this point in YOUR vaping career, it's all about trial and error. Read everything you can here on the forums, especially this thread http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/index.php?/topic/1713-common-symptoms-when-vaping/ I found it helpful, and I hope it helps.
  6. WYS4 from Wet Your Stick while I wait for more low strength VT Tobacco to come back in stock.
  7. Check out this shipping page from that seller http://www.safetecigarette.com/index.php?dispatch=pages.view&page_id=21 according to them : "EMS Express generally takes 4-15 business days to deliver your order to most destinations. USA orders take about 6 business days for delivery" There are links on that page to track your order as well. I've never used this company so I can't speak on legitimacy. I hope this helps some, and by the way, Welcome to VaporTalk.
  8. This is why we're all here, shoulders to lean on, brains to pick and like minded people who genuinely want to help. Climb a little, then help someone else up and we can all make it to the top
  9. Good choice on the stainless one - best looking imo. Looks like an expensive pen to the untrained. Great for stealth vaping.
  10. You can get the banner right here http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/Smokefree/
  11. I laughed when I read this topic, because I did the same test myself after being subjected to this commercial OVER and OVER as a child. http://www.retrojunk.com/details_commercial/8114/ With the advent of vaping, no more 'smoker's toothpolish' needed!
  12. I gotta go with Brian on this one VT TT almost always.
  13. Ya know, it's funny, I had to do the same thing.,and tallying up all the years and counting the actual cigs when you break it down to cigs per pack was quite the wake up call. Stepping up and 'being done' as you put it with analogs is a HUGE step in the right direction. Since you've only been vaping for a few weeks, you have lots more indicators to come that will show you that your choice to vape is a good one. You'll breathe a whole lot better, food tastes better (to me at least), able to do more without being out of breath, better smelling house, clothes and car...etc, etc. Keep it up EventVapor, we're all behind you!
  14. First off, congratulations on doing what some people find impossible! There are SO many people here at VaporTalk that have had similar experiences and found that only using an e-cig could slay the beast of tobacco addiction. (myself included). I, myself am working hard on getting where you are right now, in the morning, the first thing I reach for is my e-cig, but I can feel that craving slowly leaving me. Secondly, I'm really glad you've come back to the VaporTalk forums and let your feelings be heard about smoking, vaping, banning, and the good fight to quit. It's people like you that made me feel at home here when I first came and it's why I'm staying. I feel the same about what may/may not be in analogs smokes, because though I am still getting my nicotine, I've been steadily lowering my dosage with no ill effects (withdrawals etc). There MUST be something in analogs that makes people coming back time and time again, even when their health is in jeopardy. Maybe it's the hand to mouth , maybe it's something else. Bottom line, I'm happy to have you here and even happier that you're the victor over tobacco. Maybe in another few months or so I can stop needing my nic in the morning and do as you do, just use it from time to time. Thanks for your inspiration!
  15. I second you on the props to Chris and also to the fine folks over at Vaprlife Looks like I'm scratching the Joker off MY wishlist as well
  16. Thanks for making the forumites here at VaporTalk aware of this, and keep up the great work spreading the news! Signed, sealed and sent! LET YOUR CHOICE BE HEARD!

    Hi

Really glad to have you with us Kristin,We can use all the vaper support that we can muster, and those luxury boxes are AWESOME! A huge welcome and I hope to see you around!
  18. I just hope there's going to be an adequate supply of Jokers to go around, I may not financially be able to slap my money down on the EXACT day that pre-sales open, It would really bite to wait this long and there not be able to get one.
  19. Any takers on improving this article? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_cigarette This article also shows legal status around the world..some good info here. Might be useful to some of the newer vapers.
  20. Ran across this article and thought it particularly well stated. http://www.officialwire.com/main.php?action=posted_news&rid=135538 Now we need to get 'The Powers That Be' to recognize these facts and vote accordingly. I dunno about the REST of you, but I sure don't want to go back to inhaling VINYL ALCOHOL-VINYL ACETATE COPOLYMER, ETHYLENE/VINYL ACETATE, COPOLYMER EMULSION IN WATER or even GUAR GUM... DEPOLYMERIZED or not.
  21. Heyya McNutt! The most vapers I've ever seen in one place was 3, and you may notice a slight cloud of vapor hanging around for a short while especially if you're in a sun drenched room, and just a hint at what flavor they may be vaping, but you would need to be really close to catch a whiff. Nothing like the smoke filled rooms of Yesteryear (I'm remembering the Teacher's Lounge), but maybe with more than three? Maybe someone who went to vapefest might know?
  22. When you run across one that does, be sure to let us know, we could all use a pv like that
  23. What is really incredible, is the fact they are going nutty about regulating E-cigs when they have been feeding meat that fast food places wouldn't even touch to our kids, giving them milk laced with growth hormones, and remember the tomato scare a few years back? How about the Peanut butter scare, how about the tainted syringe scare? How about the fact that they still use meat inspection procedures that haven't been updated since 1906? Go to Google, and search 'FDA Failed'. You'll see why they have so much time for their crusade against E-cigs..THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING ELSE. Just another instance of people in power faking their way through the workweek to a fat paycheck/payoffs.
  24. Two things the world needs: 1. less lawyers 2. more VAPING! Thanks Chris for keeping us informed.
  25. So, after reading a post that mentions that the FDA is detaining shipments, I tried to think long and hard about what the F, the D and the A in their name must REALLY stand for. Among others, I came up with "Foolishly Detains Atomizers" or maybe "Following Dunderheads Advice?" Now, with cleanliness in mind, can you add to what the acronym F.D.A. might stand for?
