BarbieVapor got a reaction from Mtdobies in Vaping around Kids and Pets
In the comfort of my home, I vape. I have a chinchilla, and he hasn't had any ill side effects from my vaping. My place, my rules. When people come over, if they're bothered by it, we'll go hang out somewhere else. The only time I don't vape is when my pregnant friend comes around. Not due to the health issues, but apparently the smell of my vapor makes her nauseous. (pregnancy nose) My other roommate smokes cigarettes and he goes outside and we're both under a mutual agreement that vaping is different than smoking.

However, my boyfriend has two kids. If he comes over to my place, it's fine, because he normally doesn't have his kids when he's over at my place. But if I go over to his place, I don't vape inside at all around the kids. This is primarily because his toddler thinks that anything that I have in my hands is automatically his, too. He's taken many pens from me, and various other objects and I wouldn't want him to take my vape. I also don't want the kids to go running to their Mom saying that Dad's girlfriend smokes in the house around them and have her freak out. If these kids were my kids, I'd probably be more willing to vape around them. But I just don't want to stir any drama or problems between my boyfriend and his ex-wife. When I need to vape, I just go outside to the back yard. More times than not, the kids want to go play out in the back yard, anyways.

And that's just what works for us. When we decide to cohabitate, I'd like to talk to his ex wife about it just to bring it up so that she hears it from me before she hears it from the kids and have her approval as well before I go and do it.

I've been kind of upset about the latest news coverage on e-cigarettes. They've been getting a lot of spotlight in the news, and even if in a positive light on most of the news rooms, there is a lot of misguided information and uncertainty. CNN did a cover story, advertising it ALL day long on the radio and on the commercials, asking the question "Are E-cigarettes really safer than a real cigarette?" kind of misleading questions. I know it's how they get views, but even during the segment they're like, "Well, we don't really know the harmful effects of the e-cigarettes, but it's been improving some people's lives... so... yea!" >.<

I just wish the news actually covered them correctly instead of developing this sense of... mystery about them and this skeptical approach to the users.

Not steeping is like getting Heinz ketchup and just squeezing the bottle without shaking it first.

You'll get all that ketchup juice that collected on top without shaking instead of thick ketchup.

Steeping and shaking daily allows the flavors to mix and settle properly.

Juices not steeped and thrown right into a dripper are only getting partial flavor and mixtures.

This is the kit I bought. http://www.roarvapor.com/index.php/hardware/ego-basics-kit.html I basically went in the store and told the guy I knew nothing about vaping. This is the starter kit he recommended.

It was a hard choice between the two. But when I saw the sonic screwdriver -- I knew that when I got a rounder mod, I'd probably pick that up in a heartbeat.

I just like the way it rolls off the tongue, "R2D2V2" Works well.

I'm seriously considering the Tardis wrap.

Okay, went to Better Vapes. Did pretty much what I said I was going to do. 50 mls of 555, 50 mls of 518, and 50 mls of RY4.

    SO I ORDERED IT.

The itaste MVP V2, to much of ... well... everyone's suggestion!

And with a new device, you KNOW I have to get new liquids. So I went to the TVR website, and ordered:

    S'mores
    Snickerdoodle
    Strawberry Cheesecake.

What's that? Oh? No tobacco flavors? Not for this champ! (In all honesty, I'm heavily stocked up on tobacco flavors at the moment and decided to try my hand at the sweeter side)

I also got a R2D2 skin from VaporSkinz.
I really wanted to get the Dr. Who tardis, but I feel like that's just overdoing it with my Dr. Who obsession.

(Don't get me wrong, the sonic screwdriver skin is a close second for a future mod..)

After a year of on-off vaping, the last six months have helped me really buckle down and get off of smoking completely now that I've invested in a couple of reliable devices.

However, now I'm taking the step towards the MVP V2 which is on it's way right now! This is the first time I'm even venturing into mods and I'm pretty excited about this one.

This is also my first experience with variable power and volts. I don't quite understand how I would know what power and volt to be set at with even the basic iclear 30 tank that it comes with, nevermind other tanks or (down the road a bit) rebuildables.

Is there a post about this somewhere? Or can someone kind of break it down in a simpler concept? I just don't want to ruin my MVP V2 or the tank because I set the power too high, or the volts too low. Is that possible?

I like that it's a better quality of smoke.

I enjoy smoking. I never really looked into quitting. I mean, I've dabbled with the patch and the gum and mused myself on how addicted I really was until I'd do a 10-fold relapse and would be back to analogs.

When my friend was smoking from his e-cig I saw it and it smelled nice and he was a bigger smoker than I was, so... what the hell? Something else to smoke, right? I wasn't planning on quitting cigarette, cigars, hookah, ect. I was planning to still smoke it up. But, I haven't picked up a cigarette, hookah, or cigar since my e-cig.

My favorite cigar flavor is one I made for my e-cig with my liquids, I have a couple of tanks that produce larger clouds than my hookah ever did, and there's really NO mess (unless you spill some liquid). Ash being everywhere is something I do not miss. There's even a local vapor lounge for social smoking that friends and I venture to hang out and try the new flavors.

I considered quitting when I started, but it was only because that was basically the concept behind the e-cigs.
    Didn't think I'd ACTUALLY quit.
Used to smoke a little over half a pack a day, hookah three times a day, and have a nice cigar once a week, give or take, and now I haven't touched a cigarette for a little over a year. That IS a good feeling, even if I didn't want to quit.

I was a little too inebriated at a friend's place and needed to refill my cartridge. This was when I was first starting out, and wanted to "show it off" to the best of my ability.

My friends wanted to watch me to see how I did it (only a few of them used e-cigs, most just smoked regular analogs).

Well, the dripper never made it to the cartridge before I started squeezing.
Squeezed out about 3ml 'til I realized what was happening...

    There were TWO lessons learned:
    1) Pre-fill to last through a night out
    2) Don't drink and drip!

Haven't posted in a while, thought I'd start with a bump of my recent purchases.

I saw that my town has a Totally Wicked Vapor Lounge (let me tell you, if you haven't ever been to one, and have one locally, I HIGHLY suggest you visit one. It's a pretty neat place and you can sample everything that they have before you buy it)

After a couple hours of tasting, chatting, and flirting -- I ended up picking up my NEW favorite vaporizer from the Totally Wicked line. Unfortunately, there haven't been many reviews on it, so I didn't really know if it'd fit my lifestyle... but I really like it.

    I picked up:

Totally Wicked Tornado Slim (in PINK!)
    10 ml of the following:
    Apple shisha
    Tobacco
    Virginia
Tropical Tobacco (a huge favorite of mine!)
    Pumpkin Spice
Vanilla (to mix with the Pumpkin Spice)

The slim itself is an amazing device for what it is. Super easy to operate. I thought it'd be a pain in the but to have to manually change the battery (there are separate, rechargeable batteries that are slipped into the holder) since I have long nails and batteries with long nails just never tend to go well together), but it's as easy as lighting a cigarette and far better of a smoke.

I could see myself just going there to hang out and chat with friends with some drinks and vapes. The whole lot there are really friendly and very informative. Even the most experienced vapor could learn something by just going in there.

And it's really neat seeing the employees and what they're smoking out of (some of them are insane!).

I'm just super happy that I know have a PINK Tornado. Got to keep with the pink theme, you know?

BarbieVapor got a reaction from mcquinn in Hey, Is It Obvious I'm New?
I just bought my first e-cig the other day. I purchased the Totally Wicked Tornado Tank setup with the duel tank adaptor (just to hold more liquid than the regular tank that it comes with holds. I really can't stand the smell of cigarettes. I was going to go buy a hookah when I saw the Totally Wicked display setup. I really liked the accessories that it came with, plus the accessories you could buy for it, and all of the flavors all smelled lovely.

So I purchased it with 10ml of Blueberry and 10ml or Tiger's Blood.

Compared to smoking cigs, I'm quite impressed to find myself more drawn to the electronic cig rather than my actual pack. I have no motivation to smoke from the pack as of now. Not sure if that changes or if that's just because I can smoke the vapor inside and it's freezing outside.

Anyways, I can't help but want to go back and get more flavors! I know it'll take me a while to get through the 20ml of fluid, but I can't help but want more! Ah, and the obsession starts.

Either way, it's a great concept with the vapor. And it feels cleaner. Though, with some of the e-liquids that I've tried, I can't help but get this film-like taste in my mouth. Is this normal? And does it go away eventually?

Any other suggestions on my little setup here?
