  1. Oh my point...whatever I've spent pales in comparison to what I've saved, both tangible and intangible.

Isn't that the truth! I pretty buy anything I want when it comes to this stuff and I still save money over smoking analogs. Seriously, I have built up a good stockpile and could easily go "off the grid" for over a year with all my spares and e-juice and I still have saved money even if I quit vaping today and gave it all away.

  2. I'm with you GDub, this sounds like the cat's meow. I'm probably gonna spring for the VVPV when it comes out, unless there's some reason to believe this is going to follow almost immediately. I'd wait a couple weeks for this even at close to $300. It'd be a choke, but I could rationalize it sufficiently, I believe. ;) I've said for a long time, just let American ingenuity get hold of this tech, and watch what happens! I'm really looking forward to American attys; that's gonna be the golden moment...

I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger and buy a Joker now, I'm not buying any other PVs until this thing hits the market. I'm not 100% sure I want to be an early adopter, would kind of like to sit back and watch the reviews roll in, but there's another part of me that says just buy it the day it comes out. Who am I kidding, I'll probably have it on pre-order!

  3. Im i missing something???? Is there going to be a ban on E-cigs, sounds like you guys are stock-piling for 2012 end of the world theory :laser::nuke:

Yeah, so there is always a ban looming on the horizon lately, I mean Big Tobacco doesn't take kindly to losing money, so you can trust they are hard at work with their lobbyists and buddies at the FDA looking for any excuse to ban sales here in the USA.

  4. SO...how many Batteries/Atomizers is that? Also will the e-liquid last that long??? :unworthy:

Shelf life of nicotine is about 2 years from what I've pieced together. I ordered 500ml of 125mg/ml nicotine base a couple weeks back and after I cut in to an appropriate strength and flavor it I'm looking at about 3500ml of juice and I can mix new flavors whenever I choose. As far as attys go, I have 24 untouched attys right now (about 8 in circulation between my wife and I), would like another 20 or so. Batteries are not an issue because I we both use mods that take generic rechargeable batteries (18650, RCR123a, 10440, etc.).

  5. Grats Ouster, it's always good to have spare parts. You'll find a few of us on this forum that are stockpiling for the vaping apocalypse right now, I hope I'm wrong but just in case I'm not I'm setting aside about 2 years worth of atomizers and juice for me and my wife. Cheers.

  6. The more I think about this mod and spend time reading up on PWM the more I really like it. The ability to ramp the power really should prolong atomizer life, and with this device you could really dial in your atomizers to power them precisely the way you want to. Even if this is $300 I would still rather purchase it than any other mod I've seen to date (provided the manufacturer provides a good warranty) it's a totally new take on powering the atomizer, and according to the research I've done is vastly superior to what we are using today. Sign me up guys, if this thing is even close to what they are saying it will be this is the PV for me.

  7. Howdy all,

Just taking a quick survey of which atty everyone prefers for flavor. I'm currently a 510 type of guy, but all my buddies keep saying that the 801/901's have much better flavor.

From those of you who have used both, is it a significant difference in flavor? I don't want to purchase all kinds of adapters and stuff just to try them out, so I'll trust everyones opinion unworthy.gif

Current setup is SB@3.7-LR510. I have the option to run it @6v.

    Thanks everyone happy.gif

I absolutely love the BE112s on the SB @ 6V. BE112s are an 801 penstyle atty made by BestECig, they have a 3.5ohm resistance and not only do they provide great flavor but the vapor output is great too. I have BE112s that have been kickin' for close to 6 months now (I do rotate through about 5 attys at any given time for flavor changes). As to the 510s, I'm just not a huge fan like so many others on this forum, but I have used them quite a bit and they are a nice compact alternative, but I still find myself defaulting to my BE112s 90% of the time.

  8. Yeah, in my experience the more components used the more likely the device is to fail. That aside a device like this is appealing to me. It's just really refreshing to see people taking a completely new approach to these devices.

  9. Being absolutely horrible in math, I'm trying to get a grip on the cutting side of this. For example, buying a 60ml bottle of 48mg can be cut with VG or PG to produce ____ml of a typical 16-18 mg base fluid to add flavors to. How in the world do ya figure that out?

I'm thinking along the lines of just splitting that in 50% steps, like 60ml divided in half=30ml (of the 48mg) + 30ml of straight vg(pg)to produce 60ml of 24mg juice. Do this to the remaining half and ya get 120ml of 24mg juice. Repeat that entire process and you end up producing 240ml of 12mg base juice, out of the original 60ml bottle. PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong! That makes sense to me, but how would ya get to 16-18 mg, or other strengths of nicotine? Is there a basic formula? Another question comes to mind, how would ya split up smaller volumes of higher concentrate, say only 20ml of 100mg juice? I'm so confused...lol

    Thanks in advance! :unworthy:

Okay, I'll break down cutting 100mg/ml nicotine base.

If I want to make 30ml of 24mg strength juice than the math is pretty simple-

Divide the Strength of the desired result by the Strength of the Nicotine Base in this case 24 / 100 = 0.24

Now Multiply that result by the Amount of Juice you are making in this case 0.24 x 30ml = 7.2ml

That 7.2ml is the amount of base you need to add to achieve your desired strength. Now just subtract that from the desired amount in our case 30 - 7.2 = 22.8ml

So that would be 7.2ml of 100mg/ml nicotine base with 22.8ml of PG or VG to equal 30ml of 24mg/ml e-juice.

EDIT: I forgot to show how to figure in flavoring to the equation, it's the same basic math-

So if you are using 15% flavoring that works out to 0.15 x 30 = 4.5ml of Flavor

So total breakdown is- (30ml of 24mg/ml e-juice)

    7.2ml of 100mg/ml nicotine base

    4.5ml of Flavoring

18.3 ml of VG or PG

That same math will work for any other strength base, it's just a lot easier working with 100mg/ml base because of it being fractions and all.

    Hope that helps. Cheers.

  10. I get an Ok throat hit at 18mg, but its not reckless ( shout out to Grimm Green smile.gif ). This is definitely a juice to vape for the flavor.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to check that stuff out, love a good Banana flavor, and I'm glad to hear it's not artificial tasting.

  11. I have been in sales for over 40 years now....do I ever get a difficult customer HELL yes would I ever go on to a public forum that is full of my customers and or potential customers and complain about one of them HELL NO. If you want to be in the business of dealing with the public you have to suck it up and take the good with the bad. If you feel the need to complain about a customer phone Chris or one of your buddies but don't do it to other customers. In my opinion.....did you do anything wrong, probably not except for posting it here.

Carguy50 you are absolutely right. I can almost guarantee this thread lost them some potential customers, even if you agree with what is being said, you can't help but notice the quick escalation of the conflict by both parties. No one is really in the right here in my opinion.

  12. I like the DIY approach to juice. Allows me to make subtle changes to the flavor to better suit my taste. But that being said I'd suggest trying some sample packs from a few different resellers until you have a good idea of what you like best, taste is just such a subjective thing.

  13. I really am starting to beleive that variable voltage will be a huge thing in the next few months. Everyone in VT chat is probably sick of hearing about it but one of the main reasons I am infatuated with "the precious" mod is that it has an electronic touch sensor swith that is variable voltage.

A demo of the variable voltage can be found here:

    http://theprecious.ro/home/history/

(the video is the 3rd listed on the page)

Regardless of what you think of this mod, I think the idea of variable voltage is a very cool one. 5 or 6v is probably a bit too much for me all the time. The idea of having it available to me at anytime is a real nice idea. I will follow up on this once my "precious" arrives.

That looks cool. I'm glad to see some good, new innovations. Not just bigger batteries and brighter colors like so many others seem to be doing lately. My only issue with "The Precious" is how do you accurately control your voltage?

  14. Maybe something like this... http://www.electroni...meter%20(Parts)

I know it's $40, I'm looking for something cheaper, but this is my general idea, this mod is already seeming too big...

    This is getting closer... http://shop.tuxgraphics.org/electronic/detail_dvmmodule.html

Here is a reference manual for it if you need more details... http://www.tuxgraphics.org/electronics/200903/three-digit-display.shtml

Looks quite a bit smaller, definitely much cheaper, the more I think about this I may just have to give it a go.

  15. Found this looking around for some DIY Mod parts- http://www.amazon.co...r/dp/B001GQ9RWO

Adjustable Voltage Regulator... if you had a way to monitor the voltage (digital display?) could be a cool mod waiting to happen.

    Maybe something like this... http://www.electronics-diy.com/product_details.php?pid=505&name=70V%20PIC%20Voltmeter%20Amperemeter%20(Parts)

I know it's $40, I'm looking for something cheaper, but this is my general idea, this mod is already seeming too big...

  16. I agree with the nic price, not that much of a savings (I think the unflavored 100MG at my freedom smokes is just as good). However, for $55 you get abit more than the nic. I do not buy the platinum ice anymore for cost reasons but I have enough Decadent vapors to fill up my swimming pool. =)

GDub,will you be at Sarge's meet? If so, I can bring some DV with me.

Hmmm, I really hadn't planned on going because I have to travel out of town (just to Dallas) that week for work, but I'll run it by the wife and see if she's down. I'm not usually the most social person so I tend to ignore these events, but it never hurts meet some people with similar interests from my neck of the woods. Like I said I'll run it by the wife (after being gone all week long she may not appreciate me scheduling a weekend event) but I'll definitely give it a shot.
