With an EVOD coil, there will be some leaking from the bottom of the coil, that's normal. Just make sure to clean it periodically and keep it clean. Be sure to clean the connection end of the charger as well. Go through and read some of the threads on the New Vapers, ask a question and the General Discussion parts. You'll learn a lot. Don't be afraid to ask questions, that's how we learn. If your EVOD doesn't have a little knob at the end to turn the volts up and down, I would suggest you upgrade to one that does. You said that you didn't know what the resistance is of the coil you're using. I would suggest you get a 5-pack of 1.8 ohm coils when you go back to the shop tomorrow. Always have back ups. I can't stress that enough. Have an extra battery, an extra charger, more tanks, more coils, another charger... You'll never be sorry that you have too many back ups. Seriously. 11 mg of nicotine is about middle of the road. Are you vaping to quit smoking cigarettes? If so, how much did you smoke? There are many variables that will decide what nic level you want.

Go back to the shop and ask the guy to replace your kit with another one of the same type. Have the guy at the shop set it all up for you and you stay there and vape for awhile to make sure it works right. That's what I would do. Do you know what the resistance of the coil is that you're using? Does your battery have a twisty thing on the bottom so you can control how much power it's putting out? What's the PG/VG ratio of your juice? What nicotine level do you use?

It could be that you just got a bad one, that does happen sometimes because China isn't the best with quality control. It could be that the battery needs to be charged. It could be a bad coil. It could be the center pin needed to be raised in order to make a connection to the coil. It could be that your battery needs to be charged but your charger is faulty. It could be... many things... one of them being that you got a bad one. The EVOD battery and tank are good for beginners to get some experience and to learn about vaping. I don't know what kind of EVOD battery you have, but I would recommend at the very least, to get a variable voltage style. I still use my Vision Spinner (the first version) every so often. Vision Spinners are like the EVODs. Depending on how much money you want to spend, there are many experienced vapers on this forum who can recommend a whole bunch of different batteries. In my opinion, I'd tell you to start simple until you learn about vaping just to keep it safe. Once you get a little experience, then I would look at more advanced stuff. Whatever you decide, I would warn you away from sub-ohm tanks and coils until you learn the basics first. That's just my opinion.

The center pin getting pushed down can happen at any time because they do not have the spring loaded ones that some of the other batteries do. I've had a few eGo style batteries have the pin pushed down when I bought them.

You might try raising the center pin on your battery. Even though it's an eGo style in the vid, it's the same process for your EVOD.

Let it charge but do NOT leave it charging unattended (ie. while you're sleeping). You never know if something goes wrong and you don't want to have it vent while you're asleep. Post again to let us know if charging took care of your problem?

When is the last time you charged the battery? They generally come 3/4 charged but not always. I'd let it charge for a couple of hours then see if that doesn't take care of the problem.

It might not be the battery. Have you tried changing to a whole new coil?

Well, dang. Try rinsing the coil under very hot water, soak it until the water turns cool and then let dry overnight. That should help better than nothing.

Darker, sweet juices will gunk up a coil faster than something that's light in color and not as sweet. I can use the same type of coil with a cucumber/mint juice for over a month and it will perform just as well as when I first put it in. That same coil used with a chocolate candy flavor gunks up within one week's time. Take that coil that you rinsed in water and soak it in some vodka or Everclear overnight. Rinse and let dry another night. That should help ungunk it.

Yep. I've gone the subohm, high watts route but don't like the warm to hot vape. Cooler is my sweet spot. Even chain vaping, the iStick 50W lasts between 4 and 5 days between charging.

Wow. And I even followed all that. I was basing it on my vaping style, which is to use a 1.8 ohm coil but only at 8W. I go up to 9.4W when I'm feeling adventurous.

Thanks for clarifying that, Earthling. Okay, it's been a long day and even longer week, and please correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't a lower resistance coil use less power to heat up due to the lower resistance in the wire?

You set either the volts OR watts, you go with one at a time, not both at the same time -- if that makes any sense. So, if you're in wattage mode, set that. Leave it at that. As for the "highest" you should go in watts or volts, start low and vape. If that doesn't do it for you, turn it up a little. Vape. Keep repeating that until you get a slight burnt taste or a harsh vape. Turn it down just a bit and that will be the sweet spot for that tank-coil-juice combination. Each one will be a little different so you'll just adjust each time. I've noticed that fruit flavors like lower heat while bakery flavors/coffee flavors like it hotter.

Yep, what Compenstine said. There are variables that will change depending on many factors.

There are tanks that are similar to what you have that also have a removable drip tip. An Kangertech Evod 2 with the glass tank allows you to change drip tips and they look identical to your knock off tank.

They don't get much cheaper than the links we gave you. If you do find them cheaper than that, take a very close look because they might be knock offs.
