  1. i'm not going to be a huge help since i don't ever use mine with ego's but first question is did you order ego specific drip shields?

You're more help than you realized. Argh! No. Seems I bought a drip shield for a 901. No wonder it doesn't fit right. :wallbash:

Okay, I need to go look for eGo specific drip shields then. Know anyone who needs 901 drip shields? I have one in silver and one in purple:

Drip shields for 901 atomizers. Also compatible with a 510 atomizer, with the use of a 510 extender.

Care to recommend a good place to get drip shields? Um... preferably ones that will fit an eGo battery. :crybaby:

  2. Just got two drip shields in the mail today. I put one on the eGO 650 pass through. Is it supposed to sit on top of the threads so the threads show? That's a far down as it goes so I was wondering. Somehow I thought it was supposed to screw on?

The drip tips I have seem to go inside the top of the drip shield so they sit fairly low. Is that supposed to happen or should it sit more flush on the top like a tip does on the bare attomizer?

So many questions come with new toys... :)

  3. Wow, Brian, I never expected such a detailed reply. Thank you very much for so much information! It makes a lot more sense to me now. :)

Have you thought about putting an edited version of this on your store site? It would help people like me to make a decision on what to buy. Hopefully someday, you'll branch out to include more stuff in your store. I'll be waiting to pick them up there.

  4. Brian really gave you some solid answers. All that i'll add is that now you can buy what are called "dripping atty's". These are atomizers that have had the bridge and wicks already removed for you. Without a bridge or wick you get a cleaner flavor and a lighter draw.

    http://www.empiremod..._p/brdg5108.htm

that's a really good dripping atty at a good resistance.

Okay, I just ordered 5 of these. Can't wait to try them out. Thanks for the rec!

  5. Okay, now that I'm officially addicted to dripping (thank you all for your GREAT advice in an earlier thread!), I have some more questions where I need your expertise.

At my local brick and mortar store I bought the essentials for dripping. They were a 5 pack of stainless steel 1.8 ohm atomizers. They're being used on eGO 650 pass throughs and an eGO C 1000 mAh twist. I am down to my last two attys and am looking to get moar backups before I go through them too.

My question is... what do I get?

1.) They should be 510 compatible, right?

2.) SR offers a cooler vape while a LR is warmer/hotter?

3.) What are these single and double coils all about? Can they be used with the eGO set up?

    4.) Type A or Type B? (I'm using Type B right now -- I think)

4.a.) If I go with Type A, do I need more equipment, like something to make it compatible with my eGO batts?

5.) And I always thought a bridge was something you walked or drove over to get to the other side. What's it mean with e-cigs and attys? And do I want an atty with or without a bridge?

6.) If you would recommend something, would you please post a link to the page where I can go buy it?

Um... I think that's all the questions I have right now. Thanks for any advice and answers in advance. :)

  6. Try lots of stuff. Try some boge standard and low resistance 510 cartomizers. Try some joye 510 lr and sr atty's. Well anyway, do what Kitsune said :)

Yes, I'm doing just that! Trying LOTS of stuff. And doing what Kitsune said. Although, you really should pay attention to her name: Kitsune. Japanese fox spirit who is high on mischievous high jinxs. She has lots of great advice but will innocently lure you into more than you originally planned.

Asking questions will get you great advice from very experienced vapers here. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I think you'll enjoy your time at VT. I certainly am.

And now I'm off to ask some more questions about dripping related stuff. Kitsune got me started on that, too!

Oh, and I forgot to say, "Welcome to VT!" :)

  7. Not to thread-jack but I was curious if anyone has heard of the ego vision spinner? I'm pretty sure it isn't a Joye product but it appears to be very similar to the twist. Anyone have any experience with one?

Oh for crying out lou... 1300 mAh? Holy cow! I'm trying really hard not to buy anymore unnecessary e-cig stuff. :D

    You.

    Are.

    NOT.

    Helping!

    :wallbash:

  8. I'm glad you are liking it...I've heard nothing but good news about the twist. I can't wait to order mine and for around 30 bucks its an awesome deal.

Liking it a LOT! If you haven't already ordered one, I would highly recommend gettng it from Brian at The Veteran Vapor store. The prices are comparable to what you'll find everywhere but it's the customer service you can't buy with money. Brian is simply amazing! You won't have to worry about the level of customer service you'll get at VV. :)

  9. Well, either way, my juice from sweet vapes came in today and let me just say... damn! So far I've tried the Orange Cream... yummy and kind of refreshing actually. Right now though I'm vaping the Starbuckets Mocha like it's my job. Soooo good! I'll probably be all tweaked out later from a massive nicotine rush, but I just can't seem to help myself lol.

The first time I bought the Starbuckets Mocha it was the smallest size they had because I didn't want to waste my money if I didn't like it. The second time I ordered the 30 ml because it was soooo good. If you can let it steep a bit the flavor gets even better! Their Kona Cream is amazing too. :)

  10. seems like i go the other way than most...

I'm a mainly vg vaper.. usually 70/30 and even sometimes 80vg/20 distilled h2o

it's definitley gunkyier than most blends but pg irritates my throat and i find i can't vape as much :(

water blends are surprisingly nice, but strange in a way too...

This is so interesting! To some PG is harsh and irritates their throat, to others it's VG that's harsh. I think I'm going to be playing with the ratios to see what works best for me. Thanks for your input! :)

  11. What is the drip tip used for? what happens if you don't have one?

Drip tips are just another thing you want to collect that makes vaping fun! :D

Actually, they're little mouth pieces that you put on the top of atomizers. You can drip directly into them for convenience when direct dripping. If you don' t have one and your atomizer gets hot you can burn your lips. Um... no, it's not because I tried it or anything.

I'm still learning all about this direct dripping. Like Kitsune said on a different thread, there's a bit of a learning curve to it, but if you stick with it, the pay off is the best flavor EVAR! I'm finding that I prefer direct dripping to all the other clearomizers I've been using and love.

Now, if you'll excuse me I need to go see a man about a hor... drip shield. *laughs*

  12. Wow. Everyone seems to have their own preferred blends! Thanks to all who replied, it's given me lots to think about. I've gone the 100% VG and steps the other way to 30 VG/70 PG. Still not sure where my preferred spot is but it's fun trying to find out. :)

  13. I totally agree with mcquinn about the dry burning. I used to do that until I started going through clearomizers (Stardust V2). They probably would've lasted longer had I not gone the dry burning route. Now, I just wash them out and let them dry over night. If you just have the two flavors you switch with, I'd just get two clearomizers, one for each flavor.

If you're going to switch with only one clearomizer, I'd recommend using the eGo CC (changeable coil) clearo. It's also called a T2 made by Kangor. Brian, over at The Veteran Vapor sells them at a very reasonable price. These are much easier to clean and the changeable coil is nice. If something happens and it's not working like it should, you just change the coil (unscrew, take off, screw new one on), and it's like having a brand new clearomizer with only a fraction of the cost. If you buy these, then I'd suggest buying some extra coils to have on hand. :)

  14. 1. How often should you clean your clearomizer and how long do they last? Should you clean them each time you fill it or just when you switch to another juice.

With the Vision (Stardust) V2 clearomizers I just clean those out when the juice gets really dark and the flavor isn't what it's supposed to be. If I'm refilling with the same juice I don't clean it out, I just drain the old (if you need to) and refill. If switching to another flavor, yes, I'd wash it out and let it dry overnight.

The T2 clearomizer with the replaceable coil is easier for cleaning, imo. If the wick doesn't let go of the old flavor it's easy to change it to a new one and it's like having a whole new set up without the cost.

    2. The kit also came with the atomizers and cartridges.

Not familiar with cartridges. I've tried them but didn't care for them at all. :(

    3. What is a drip tip? Do they replace cartridges?

A drip tip is the tip that goes on top of the atomizer. The tip makes it easier to drip e-liquid into the atomizer and keeps you from burning your lips should the atomizer get hot when you're vaping. I'm still new to this but I love it now. It took quite a bit of trial and error (it's still a learning experience for me), but the pay off in the intense flavor of the e-liquid has been worth it. Kitsune is a great resource for dripping advice.

    4. I know the nicotine leve affects the TH but does it affect the taste of the juice too?

Um... still too new to vaping to be able to give you an answer. There are others here who are much more knowledgeable...

    5. I am a 30 year smokers smoking Marboro 100's. What level of nicotine would you recommend. The sample bottles are 10ml but I did get 20ml of a larger flavor. I still am craving the cigarettes though.

I smoked a pack a day of Marlboro Lights (shorts) for over 30 years and started with 24 mg of nicotine. That didn't last too long, though. Now, I have juices from 0 mg to 12 mg and I switch off -- depending on how I feel. You'll have to play around with the nicotine levels to find what works for you. I think it's different for everyone.

    6. My throat seems to be sore. I am wondering if this goes away eventually. I'm trying to drink lots of water. Is there a danger of vaping TOO much and getting nicotine overdose?

YES! Once I finally got it right with the direct dripping I got so happy (and the juice tasted so good) that I wound up faintly nauseous, more than a bit dizzy with a nasty headache. You'll know if/when you're getting there. I'm much more careful now. :)

Good luck with the vaping! You'll find a whole bunch of wonderful people here who are more than generous with their expertise and advice. They've certainly been helping me get the hang of things. :D
