  1. I think rebuilding the OCC head at .7Ω (~25 watts on a fresh battery) would probably be perfect for a mech.
  2. Aspire apparently really wants folks to believe it is regulated, hence the lack of clarity (read: deception) in their description. The sad thing is that the technology exists to make it so.
  3. Here's Coil Toy, a handy little online coil building calculator that you might find interesting. Just plug in your numbers and it shows you what your coil should look like.
  4. I think dual coils with the RBA deck will probably be the way I go, since instead of the .5Ω OCC single-coil head taking all the heat, you could have, say, two .7Ω coils (equaling a .35Ω total load) splitting the overall power...less chance to burn the wick. With the dual .7Ω coil setup, a 4.2v battery will supply around 25 watts to each coil. That load will only draw 12a. I'll let you know when mine comes in tomorrow.
  5. @maple626: What batteries are you using in your mods? Have you metered them fully charged to see what the voltage is on them? You should be using batteries with a voltage of 4.2 when fully charged. Both the Manhattan and the Aspire CF are unregulated mods, so they put out what the battery voltage is. I know, I know...everyone thinks that the CF is a regulated mod, but Phil Busardo (pbusardo on YouTube) and Scott Bonner (igetcha69 on YouTube) tested the voltage drop on the CF and it definitely is not regulated. In fact, Aspire's CF product page actually states that it has an "output voltage of 4.2v full power output", which apparently means when the battery is at full power. The same information is shown for the CF SubΩ Battery as well as the CF Mod Battery (18650). The CFs will, however, shut off when your battery's voltage drops below 3.2v, so you do have under-voltage protection.
  6. Looks like he was in a B&M...probably just got what they had in stock. *Edit* Just checked their web site and they're out of stock on the real deal.
  7. Yeah, I know it's going to be top-heavy, but I still plan to get the Mini when it hits the shelves. As for the red CF, I definitely like the look with the red Subtank O-rings, but I couldn't turn down the price on the black version. If I like the mod, I'll probably try to find a good deal on a red one as well.
  8. Why is it that when I think of my in-laws flying in, I picture bats?
  9. From Triangle Vape, I just bought an Aspire CF 18650 mod ($23), a Kanger Subtank ($39), two Sony VTC4 2100mah 30A batteries ($9 each), and an EFest SODA 2 Bay Charger ($10). Total shipped = $94.29 I had planned to pre-order the 22mm Kanger Subtank Mini to go on the Aspire mod, but decided I just couldn't wait for it to be released.
  10. The Subtank-Mini has the same features as the original Subtank, but instead of having a 25mm diameter, it's 22mm, which will fit flush on many 18650 mods (including Aspire's new CF 18650). It holds 4.5ml of e-liquid (instead of the original Subtank's massive 6mm juice capacity) and it's available for pre-order here for $40.98 shipped (that's the least expensive I've found). The Subtank-Nano doesn't have the RBA feature...it's strictly an OCC clearo, has a diameter of 18½mm, and holds 3ml of juice. It's also available for preorder here for $37.98 shipped (also the least expensive I've found). I'm preordering the Mini this weekend as well as an Aspire CF 18650 mod to put it on...I'll keep y'all posted.
  11. I just bought a Chuff Enuff drip top clone for my Infinite CLT V1 RDA from ebay for $6.95 shipped (over $20 less than the original). It's a perfect fit and looks & performs beautifully.
  12. FastTech has Authentic KangerTech SUBTANK Coil Heads (5-Pack) 0.5ohm (15-30W) for $12.23 if you don't mind waiting a couple of weeks to get them from China. There are also quite a few videos I've seen on YouTube that show how to rebuild your coil heads yourself.
  13. Subtank or Atlantis? *EDIT* Subtank...I just found your earlier post.
  14. Now there's a 7ml tank extension kit available for the Atlantis.
  15. Check out this Google Map of TWD locations. Also, here's a cool site with a location index (with pics) sorted by episode. Yeah, 12 days off work for the holidays and you'll find a lot of pointless stuff to do, too!
  16. SmokTech is now making a new Pyrex tanked version of their RSST RBA...it's called the Magneto RSST. Its bottom is threaded to replace the Magneto's top cap and effectively turns it, when mated to a Magneto or Galileo, into a Genesis hybrid...direct positive pin to battery connection with almost zero voltage drop. The Smok Magneto RSST
  17. AMC is now showing a TWD marathon starting with S1-E1 and ending with S5-E8, so go and dead yourself!
  18. I almost posted this reply here, but decided it needed a thread of its own.
