  1. I could be off the mark here because I'm not a lawyer, but as I read it anything that is used to or "Sold As" an ingredient that it used in the manufacture of e-liquid is considered part of these regs. As an individual if I were to buy and make what I need via DIY it is fine. As a business if I sell flavoring for the purpose of making E-Liquid then I would be considered under these regs and have to register every flavoring, PG, VG, or Nicotine base I sold for said purpose.

  2. This is why I'm playing it all by ear. I have supported HR2058 in every way possible to me and will continue to support it. I will not stop and close until the time I'm no longer able to continue. As you have said a lot can happen in two years. These deeming regs can (pipe dream) can be stopped and the FDA may have to start from square one. I'm keeping a close eye on everything that is being said and done.

  3. As it stands right now my business will be done in Aug. There is no way I can afford this as it stands. Of course I'll be playing it by ear, but as it stands, I'm looking at being done as a business. I know I won't be the only one if things don't change. To me  this is taking away jobs and supporting big tobacco at is finest. So much for supporting a heather way of life. Not that I'm a big conspiracy theorist, this just supports depopulation and saving the Tax losses from big tobacco sales. We the people must suffer for quitting burnable tobacco.

Even at the lowest number Chris posted, I would need $15,600,000.00 just to register my 52 flavors. That does not include all the testing.

  4. I was just sent this in my Email:

    We the People

Following up on your petition on the tobacco regulations:

A few months back, we sent an initial response to a petition you signed on the tobacco deeming regulations. At the time, the rule in question was still under interagency review. But now, there's more to say.

Last week, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration finalized a rule extending its authority to all tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, cigars, hookah tobacco, and pipe tobacco, among others.

This rule will allow the FDA to improve public health and protect future generations from the dangers of tobacco use through a variety of steps, including restricting the sale of these tobacco products to minors nationwide.

Tobacco use poses a significant threat to public health and is the leading cause of preventable deaths in the U.S. today. While there has been a major decline in the use of traditional cigarettes among youth over the past decade, their use of other tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, continues to climb.

In 2015, 3 million middle and high school students were using e-cigarettes.

Prior to FDA’s actions this week, there was a big difference between the rules for the makers of traditional tobacco cigarettes and the rules for these new products.

If you were to purchase a traditional cigarette today, you would be warned about the health risks. You'd also be over the age of 18, because it is illegal to sell cigarettes to minors. These safeguards have greatly contributed to the decline in smoking. But the newer tobacco products haven't had these same safeguards in place.

The new regulations are aimed at making sure all tobacco manufacturers and retailers follow the same rules -- rules to protect children and make sure everyone can make informed decisions about their own health and the products they purchase.

So what do the new provisions say? For starters:

    • Stores will not be allowed to sell e-cigarettes, cigars, and hookah tobacco to people under 18 years of age.
    • All sales to those 26 and under will require a photo ID -- just like needing an ID for cigarettes.
    • Manufacturers will be required to place health warnings on product packages and ads.

You can read more about the new regulations and what this means for manufacturers, retailers, and our nation's health here.

These regulations mark a new chapter in the FDA's efforts to end preventable tobacco-related disease and death, ensure consumers can make informed decisions, and protect the health of America's youth from the dangers of tobacco.

Thanks again for raising your voice on this issue.

  5. When you consider DIY components, the nicotine would be the only one that may be effected by this ruling. They can not regulate me buying Lorrans in Walmart for example. Or ordering flavorings over the internet. This would be the same for VG, PG, wire... These are all used for more than just E-Cigarettes. How would they regulate me buying wood..? or an aluminum project box from Mouser... Switches..?  There will be a lot of people going back to the day when we built our own mods. The electronic boards would be sold out of stock and hard to get though.

This is why I only buy things that have the rebuildable head/coil... :D

  6. That is one nice thing about this job, construction has picked up. This is a small outfit with 5 trucks very much a family business that treats you like family. I get to do more than just run loads too I'm helping work on the trucks and learning how to mix the load I'm carrying. It makes for a busy day and I like learning all parts of the business not just driving.

  7. I have been kinda silent lately. I have taken on a new job, started a couple weeks ago actually. I'm now driving a cement truck during the summers. One like this...

This is new to me, but I'm liking it. I did drive over the road for over 13 years though. Jobs are very hard to find in this area so I'm very glad to have it. The yard is only 2 1/2 miles from my house so that is huge plus as well. I live out in the sticks where the deer and bear roam. LOL Other than driving 35 miles one way to get to work, there just is not any thing in this area except bars and Mom and Pop convenience stores. I would much rather do this! :D Been training these last couple weeks and I get to do my first pour tomorrow. I'm a little nervous, but excited too. I'll still be doing e-liquid this is just to pick up the slack and keep us from having to sell the house. The e-liquid is just not enough to pay the bills.
