  1. Another good review with info... So I guess if I get this, I should just sell all the dual coil stuff I have left.
  2. Thanks. I found this video, and its explains the battery and stuff.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iG8wSZRpBOE&feature=related HOWEVER, after seing this great review below, I'm having second thoughts about this device. In addition to higher ohm cartos, I would also like to use my LR stuff at 3.7v, which the documentation says it does, but sccording to this review, it doesn't, I don't want to vape at 3.1v, that suxxx... like vaping off a almost dead battery all the time.
  3. Lastly, what the general rule of thumb for ohms to volt usage? I read one place that 1.6 and 1.7ohm should only be used at 3.7v. But I've seen videos of people using 1.7ohm at 4.2 volts. And made vapes says thier 1.6ohm cartos can be used upto 5 volts? With a 3-6v VV device that this is, what is a good 'middle ground' 2.0ohm, 2.5ohm, 3.0ohm?
  4. What does AW IMR mean? Ok So 'protectecd' batts are a little longer. I did see a review in the UltraFire 18650 that said "This battery works fine but it wont work with a lavatube. It has an extender and makes it too long. I just tore off the extender chip on the end and still used it but its just a battery after that." So I guess technically if I wanted to pay less money, and get more mah, I could get the ultrafire 3000mah, and pull off the protected curciut, then it would just be a normal battery. Is there a 'Protected' batt thats the same size of a normal 18650? What does protected mean? Doesn't the VTube have all the 'protecting' curcuits inside of the device so there is no need for a protected batt?
  5. Blucavvy enlightened me to a Lavatube clone in another thread. I’m going to order one as soon as I understand a couple things. Can someone please helpme on my questions, since I never used a VV device or mod before. Man I haven’t had questions like these since I was a noob to vaping… lol.. feels weird asking.. (This post is relating to the Apollo VTube http://www.apolloecigs.com/product_p/atube.htm) I’m going to get the regular size. It comes with an 18650 2200mah bat. In tech specs, It says it provides 4.2v at peak charge, 3.3v at low level. How can the device go up to 6v? Does its circuitry do something to allow higher voltage than its battery? If the battery is almost dead will it be tough to get higher than 5v out of it? Was thinking about getting a couple Trustfire 18650, 2400mah battery from madvapes (http://www.madvapes.com/TrustFire-Protected-18650-Battery-2400-mah-_p_2753.html) to use with it. Will it fit? I’m assuming all 18650 bats are the same? I’m assuming the number/model of batteries are an international standard in size/etc? The bat it comes with says it is 4.2v, the trustfire says its 3.7v Does that matter? Again will the trustfire be able to achieve 5-6v? Mad vapes also has a 18650, 3000mah battery. I’m assuming the larger the mah, in theory, the longer they last? Its strange the trustfire has better reviews than the ultrafire…. I might just stick with the trustfire. I’m going to get the ego adapter so I can still use my EMDCC’s and possibly the ego-C if I get that at a later time. The adapter from mad vapes look better (has the cone threads), and its cheeper. I’m assuming it will work. (http://www.madvapes.com/510-Battery-to-eGo-Atomizer-Adapter-_p_3170.html) EMDCC’s are 1.6 ohms, so I’m assuming the VTube won’t let me use them at higher than 3.7 volts? I’m assuming using the VTube with the EMDCC’s will give me longer life and longer fresh 3.7 volts when compared to an ego battery? I’m a carto guy. Not going to go to a tank/carto mod yet. Can anyone recommend a good high resistance (2.5+ ohm) dual coil carto that’s mega in size? Comparable to the EMDCC? Preferably from Madvapes since I’m ordering other stuff from there. I would like a direct drip atty to ‘taste test’ my juices at different volts. The kits comes with an high resistance atty. Was going to pick up a couple, unless someone can recommend a good atty that’s works great for direct drip from mad vapes. Thanks… sorry for the very long post… man it feels weird being a newbie again, lol.
  6. Actually, I just thought of something, and want to revise my last post. My vaping budget per year is FREE!! As a hobby, I sell accessories for DIY eliquid makers. Its not a full business or anything, but something I do a littile bit a day. Enough to make about $100/month. That pays for my vaping, so I guess I vape for free, and back to now saving $4,000/year from quitting smoking.
  7. I don't spend more $$$$ on vaping. Not even close. In the last 6 months I've only spent about $600 on vaping. And that includes 2 gallons of PG/VG, which I still have 60% off, and still have about 4x500ml bottles of 24/36mg unflavored nic juice, and about 30 1oz bottles of flavor from TPA. So I think I can go 6+ months more with out buying any more juice. So if I calculate buying a VV mod, and more cartos/drip tips/accessories/etc for the next 6 months, I would say roughly $200 maybe? So in 1 years time I calculate I will spend about $800 on vaping. Ok, lets say I go crazy, and my yearly vaping budget is $1,000. Thats still cheaper than an estimated cost of $4,000 for my smoking and coffee/breakfast sandwich habbit. So I'm saving $3,000+ year. Dude, I could get a loan for an inexpensive car for less than that per year.
  8. well its not a savings, but I do not miss having to clean up cig butts all the time.. I would get lazy and not empty my ash try alot. So as I put out my cig I would knock used butts out of the ask tray on to the garage floor.. then I wouldn't pick those up, and they will just pile up around the upside down bucket the ash tray is sitting on.. After a month, its a huge mess.. lol... NOT SMOKING IS THE BEST THING EVER!!!
  9. lol... with all the rambling, I didn;t even get the jist of the thread... haha... ok I see now.... yes I agree with you.. THe VG hit is more fufilling and full bodied 'inside your lungs'... and now that I tihnk about it more, I like that hit better.... with the 2mg nic I vape now, I don't get much of the back of the throat hit anyways, and prefer the 'lung' hit...so I might just go to a more of a VG base solution.. maybe a 50/50....
  10. well for me... and I use carots, its 80pg/20vg... a nice good mix. however, I tihnk my wife is alergic to PG. shes get a huge headache if she vapes PG. So shes does (..when she does... lol she doesn't vape tha much...yet....) she uses 100% VG, thinned with 5% water)
  11. I've been an ego vaporer for 6 months now, and also thinking about getting into higher voltage vaping. I think this will be a great thing to try... I might just order it... thanks for the info blucavvy. I to think......why not... ofcourse I don't need the case or the drip tip or the carto.... but I'm sure its cheeper to buy the kit, then the pieces separtly.
  12. Its real easy to calculate how much $$$ you save on quitting analogs by subtracting out the $$ you would spend on per pack. 6 months in, and for me its about $1,700. 1.5 packs a day times 180 days. In MD its costs about $6.35 per pack with tax. But I’m interested in any hidden savings people are getting as well. Like for me, my daily work day morning ritual would consist of going to the local corner store, to buy my pack of cigs for the day, BUT I would always also get a cup of coffee and a ham, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. That’s $4-$5 right there. Now that I don’t smoke any more, I never go there any more. In the last 6 months, I think I’ve been there only 2 or 3 times… Now in the mornings, since I don’t stop for cigs, I make my own coffee in the morning, and eat breakfast at home. So really in addition to the $1,700+ I saved on analogs, I also calculate I’ve saved an additional $500 in breakfast sandwich/coffee purchases. Just wondering what other hidden savings people have…
  13. I do notice alot of people here are from Illinois..... where are all the maryland'ers? lol.. Welcome to the forum.
  14. I’m surprised no one commented that it is not the cart or the amount alone, its mainly the strength of nicotine. General rule of thumb is that someone absorbs 1mg of nicotine per analog cigarette (even though an analog has about 8mg nicotine total, but most of that is lost through the burring process…. So your body only get 1mg out of the 8mg) and some studies put this number has high as 1.7mg per analog. So if you’re a pack a day smoker, then you get 20mg of nicotine per day. Now lets equate that to mg/ml of ejuice…. If you vape 6mls (or 6x1ml carts) of 6mg nicotine ejuice per day, then you are vaping 36mg of nicotine per day, or equal to 36 analogs. BUT, and this is a big BUT… Your body does not absorb 100% of the nicotine you are vaping. NO good studies have been done on this, and no one knows for sure how much nicotine your body absorbs. IN MY OPINION, based on my experience and ‘listening to my body’ I think you absorb 50-60% of the nicotine you vape. So that’s 36mg from above is really only equal to about 18 analogs, or almost a pack. So to answer your question… how much does 1 cart equal to in analogs? Well what’s the strength of nicotine ejuice you are using? 1 ml cart of 24mg nice juice = roughly 12 analogs, or 2-3 drops =roughly 1 analog. 1 ml cart of 18mg nice juice = roughly 9 analogs, or 3-4 drops =roughly 1 analog. 1 ml cart of 12mg nice juice = roughly 6 analogs, or 5-6 drops =roughly 1 analog. 1 ml cart of 6mg nice juice = roughly 3 analogs, or 10-11 drops =roughly 1 analog. …when I starting vaping 6 months ago (I was a 1.5/pack a day smoker), I vaped 3-4mls of 18mg nic juice. Now I’m vaping 6-8+mls of 2mg ejuice….. so as far as nicotine, I’m getting a lot less now… but my goal is to quit all together eventually… but I think I’m going to stick with 0mg nic for a long time at the end… lol…
  15. a few drops ever hour or so? thats a big LOL for me... I'm a chain vaporer... I vape 6-8 mls per day... so for me its like 10 drops every 15 minutes or so... lol... but I only vape 2mg NIC.. about to go down to 1mg soon.
  16. I take it those brigeless sold at smartvapes work on the ego batterys? I think unless I ever go to a 4 or 5V mod, I'll never use anything else than an ego battery. I do plan on quitting vaping once I'm vaping 0mg nic for a while, so I doubt I'll ever be 'HARD CORE' in to the vaping mods. (There is a means to an end..lol) Thats one thing I never understood about drip tips.... The out side is nice and shapely to fit in your mout nice... but why did they make the inside a stright tube? I mean if the made the inside the same shape of the outside, that natural curving in and out would eliminate the condisation/juice from getting on your lips because the slant on the inside would be inverted. I guess I should have invented that months ago and got ahead of the sales... lol.
  17. I use excusivly TPA now. I love pretty much all thier flavors. I do to notice on some of thier berry flavors they are purfumey, but thats only if I mix them to strong. most flavors I mix between 16-18%, and some higher at 20%. But the ones that are perfumey at 16%, I reduce down to 8-9% and the purfumeyness is gone...
  18. I vaped and smoked for 1 week... then one day I was just like..... f*k it.... so I stopped analogs and never looked back..How time flies... I can't beleive its been almost 6 motnhs for me...
  19. Did you get them from a 'real dealer' or from like eBay or something. There are alot of horror stories about batteries being sold as new on ebay, but they are actually used/dead batteries with new stickers on them. If you got them from a reputable site, send them back and get replaced.
  20. usually the flashing means the battery cannot give enough power to the carto that is 'requesting it'.... I know if I take a looooooog draw, like 10 seconds... my battery will 'yell' at me by flashing... telling me.... 'hey stop drawing all my power, I have no more to give'... lol... I'll stop for a few seconds, then just continue.... if you are getting the flashing right away, I bet the battery is shorting out, OR just has no life left, and is a dud....
  21. and to add my 2 cents.... wooow you bought them in july, and in January your still getting 6+ hours out of them? Thats pretty dang good. The 650's that came with my starter kit in july/august started to show weakining in october. I never expected to get more than 2 months out of batteries. Lol... I vape so much and so often now, (because I'm only vaping 2mg nic juice) I go through almost 2 1000mah batteries a day...... almost.. I also did hear a 150 ma charger can damage the ego battery.... never used one though, always stuck with the 450..
  22. So I've been away from the forums in general the last couple months... been busy with other stuff... But I'm back.... Going to try and get on daily like I did a few months ago. I still am going strong... no analogs.. It will be 6 months next week.... wooow, doesn't seem that long... I'm down to 2mg NIC, however I do vape 5-6mils of that a day... but I use the ego mega dual coil carto, which does burn through liquid quick. (DAYVAPE and viper ron will be glad to hear that...lol..) But I do still use my 1.7 ressorectors as well. The mega dual coil do last a long time. I bought 10 of them 6+ weeks ago, and only on my 3rd one. Oh yea, and got my sister-in-law vaping... shes smoke free for almost 3 weeks now. Now time to convert my other sister-in-law and my wife... lol
  23. http://www.essentialdepot.com/servlet/the-218/1-Gallon-Veg-Glycerin/Detail or http://www.essentialdepot.com/servlet/the-211/Propylene-Glycol-2-Gallons/Detail?affiliate_no=2&gclid=CPviuu2in6sCFYt25Qodh09KlA sorry for the late response.
  24. Well I did end up buying it that day. 1 GAL PG and 1 GAL VG... $48/free shipping. Come to find out, ALOT of other vapors use that same web site to buy that PG/VG because its cheep. Comes out to less than 20 cents per OZ. (less than a penny per ml) So its almost been 5 months, and I've used about 1/2 gallon of the PG and 1/8 gallon of the VG so far. People say PG/VG has a self life of 1-2 years, so I should be set for a while... lol.. Of course now that I'm vaping 2-3mg nic now, I vape 6+ mils a day.. (since it vape low strength nic, it only costs me less than 5 cents per mil for my DIY)
