  1. Hi, while it is interesting to read a concern about mold spores in cartomizer filling, there are mold spores, viruses and bacteria free-floating in the air around us. As an ex-smoker, I always have to weigh the fact that the chemicals and amounts of tar I was ingesting into my throat and lungs was destroying my health. All the 'testing' on analogs has not made people stop using them. Is it prudent to err on the side of caution? Yes, of course. Most everything we do in life has a risk factor. But am I going to become an alarmist over the fact that I use cartomizers on a regular basis, absolutely not!

  2. I guess that would depend on how strong your juice was. I would be suprised if she was getting any nicotine unless she was activly inhaling while you exhaled. If you were vaping 24 mg/ml juice, and were direct dripping you have 1/3rd of a ml juice in your atty with 8 mg of nicotine.I get around 5 drags off 3 drips so now your around 1.6 mg,lets say you adsorb half that your at 0.8 mg.now most of your vape is going to fall to the ground after it cools but, lets say she inhales 1/2 of your exhale your down to 0.4 mg of nicotine. so there you go in a scenero where all my estimets are high she will inhale 0.4 mg nicotine per your single exhale.

  3. I have been using cartomizer for a VERY long time now. i have not gotten sick from them. but they dont ever get left out in the heat. and my room is always nice and cold. but i guess that might be why. i dont see very much harm being done. but that might just be me. lol

    Cartomizers

Welcome to Vapor Talk! Not sure what greensmoke is compatible with. From the link below, looks like KR808-D2. I'm not sure how the KR808-D2 differs from the KR808-D1. My link

    Upgraded My Ego

That sounds good Darthvapor. I have been using my eGo and updating it also. I agree on the price of the drip tip and I don't really care much for the ones I got from Wordup. I like the ones from nhaler cuz they are more comfortable on the lips and fit tighter but the price of thier's is even higher. 8 bucks, I think. I can't wait to put a 901 atty on mine. I already have the adaptor. I'm getting good vapor with my lr510 but it is fun to try new things. Gotta love the 900ma bat, it lasts me all day long.

    Hooked!

Depends why you vape. I was mostly satisfying a hand to mouth addiction. No doubt borne from the physical, but for me, it was really about the brain thinking it was getting satisfying nicotine just going through the motions. Once I got to zero, habit kind of died out. Went out this morning without anything for a few hours, haven't vaped yet today. A little over a year ago I forced myself to wait an hour between smokes. I highly recommend trying to cut down on nicotine to everyone, if you get freaky, bring it back up.

  7. try MidwayUSA or CheaperThanDirt for flashight holsters or magazine carriers (the police/duty style that has a closure flap), you can find either in leather and nylon. they also have an endless variety of tactical/military belt pouches.

    Kills My Throat

Here's another tip to help with the harshness: Inhale into your mouth then breath the vapor into your lungs. Do not directly inhale into your lungs like you would a analog cigarette.

  12. Hi.. Noob here. Regarding downsides to e-cigs, one I'm wondering concern I've thought about about seems valid to me-- prolonged storage of used moist cartomizers can develop mold undetected due to enclosure. Use of such a cartomizer could result in a major lung infection causing serious illness or death. I'd like to know if there is any data substantiating this concern, but to me, it sounds legit because you're drawing in foreign air particles (which can include airborne bacteria and viruses) that embed themselves in the batting. Unless refrigerated, the contaminated batting under optimal conditions (warm temperature, moist environment) is subject to bacterial growth and mold spores. And we all know the dangers in breathing in mold. While I've not heard anyone dying from use of e-cigs yet, it's still relatively new and perhaps this might be the reason for the first death? I wonder what tests have been made on e-cigs to ensure this is not an issue? It seems like a legit scenario I would want to test for if I was in charge of quality and safety testing. Now, one might argue the heat from the atomizer will curb growth, but what if you don't use it for several days or weeks? Will the heat from the vaping action prevent spores from being inhaled? Probably. Probably not.. But until these things are tested, questions are answered, it's probably something to think about...
