Hello all. I am a complete noob to vaping and glad to have found this forum. I have been a smoker for the past 20 years. I have "quit" a few times but have always found my way back to cigarettes. My problem is that I really do enjoy smoking. I have tried smoking a pipe but never really got that satisfaction that I did with cigs. Recently I tried one of the Blu ecigs and enjoyed it. So I decided to step up and order myself some vaping gear. I ordered a Smoketech Sid,Kanger pro-tank 3,couple batteries, replacement coils and a sample back of juice to get me going. I just hope this satisfies my smoking needs and I can get off cigs for good!

Worked for me and the wife. The Blu style didn't at all. Lasted a day then back to analogs. I think our biggest issue was getting our nicotene levels right from the beginning to satisfy the craving. We were at 24mg nic for about 6 weeks and decreased to 18mg last Friday. Also finding a juice you like will help too. I tried tobacco flavors first but burned out quickly.I have 2 go to flavors that I can vape all day now and I have another to try thanks to a local juice maker. You can do it sounds like you have a good starter kit. Alot is mental after you start vaping. I still smoked a analog a time or two after we started but have been completely smoke free since. Welcome.........

I'm hoping I like something from the sample packs I ordered. I have been a Marlboro Red man since I started smoking. The 2 sample packs I ordered only came in 18mg so that's what I have to work with for now. I like the idea of having different flavors to choose from not just Full,Light, and Menthol. Can't wait for my package to get here! Feel like a kid on Christmas..hahaha.

Good to hear I made some good choices on gear. I've been watching youtube vids for about 2 weeks trying to decide what to get and what is worth getting. I hoped that I had gotten some decent stuff for the money I had on hand to spend. Any suggestions on juice or other equipment would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome! Good choices on the gear! I have been smoke-free for 6 months. As Dobie said, taste changes as you go along. I have tried so many and some I started with I CAN'T stand now. But there are plenty of others I won't be without! Good luck on your vaping journey!

18mg nic should work fine. In hindsight it would have for us we just didn't know any better. Did you get a good charger for your sid batteries?? Coming from a electronic and R/C background care and charging of batteries is a big one on my list. It hasn't happened to me since the nicad days but rechargables of any type can be hazardous if improperly charged or stored. We used to charge 6 cell sub c nicad's back in the day on a 2 wire charger hooked to a 12v car battery for 15 minutes using your watch to time it. God those things would blow when people forgot them alot of quarter sized dents in doors and fenders then.

ok So I was looking on Amazon and came across this one http://www.amazon.com/Nitecore-Universal-Intelligent-Charger-Compatible/dp/B00KAX6FI8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1407779250&sr=8-3&keywords=18650+charger. I know you get what you pay for.

I've been using a NiteCore i4 charger for quite some time for my flashlight batteries, and just bought another one from Amazon for $14 so I could keep my Mech MOD batteries separated, and the charger has two charge ratings, depending on if you are charging 1-2 or 3-4 batteries at once. Charging 4 at a time, the rate is 375mAh... charging only two, and the rate goes to 750mAh (if you use slots 1 and 4, or 2 and 3)... 1 and 3, and 2 and 4, are "linked", which is why you should charge 1.5V (AAA/AA/C) batteries in pairs, in those slots, so you reduce the charge rate.
