Keep getting approx 2.5 ohms on kayfun lite help

Hello all,

I bought a kayfun lite and use my old vv itaste and nemesis mech mod for a battery. Anyways I hear the 1.2-1.8 range is the sweet spot for a build so I got down too it and researched 3-4 youtube videos pretty much saying the same thing. 32g Kanthal and silica wick (its what I had). I ended up watching and following the instructions on the first basic build on ripp trippers build which pretty much followed the others but I just like the cut of this dudes jib.

Anyways first build while tightening down the microcoil and lifting it off the deck the microcoil went a little wonky and the rings were not perfectly straight and one wrap kinda overlapped another but I shrugged said close enough and read the ohms. Came up as 2.4 ohms. Googled it and some ppl actually like that ohm range and nothing I saw said it would damage anything so I went with it. A little weak but good enough for a couple of days. Rebuilt following the direction at madvapes: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=I5uWJhLDzT8 , it came up as 2.8 ohms. Nope nope nope. So I got serious. Sat down and when back the the ripp trippers build (1st one, not chimney, figured can't do that until I get a basic build right for once). And I followed the build religiously. Had to retry once when the microcoil went a little wonky again until I got it perfect. It was a picture perfect microcoil, the heavens parted and people cried it was so perfect. So I put that bad boy on the ohms reader and...2.4 ohms. My soul darkened a little that day. Any clue what's going on? What makes a higher ohms reading and a lower? Gauge of kanthal? Too much wick? (Tried way short wick on new build). is it using silica v. Cotton wick? Any assistance appreciated. I want that sweet spot.

Yes pic of build

Possibilities:

Wrong gauge wire

wrong # wraps

numbers are for dual coil build

twisted build?

Faulty connection at post

error in ohm reader

Hmmmmmm.........just off top of my head....

If you`v got a caliper or micrometer you can tell what gauge you have by miking it and using the cart on this wiki page.

FWIW, I used 30g on my first build,7 top wraps @ 1/8 in. and got 1.3 ohm. Runs flipping fantastic for my light colored juices. With cotton wick.

On the dark colored juices I may resign myself to changing out the wick once a day, :?(

Cheers,

R
