What type of battery would be better for me?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

It is time for me to order some new batteries and I was hoping you could give me some suggestions on what type of battery would be the best for someone who vapes like me. The last time I bought the eGo twister and the Vision Spinner and both were great batteries. However, I never used the voltage adjustment option. I just kept it cut as high as it would go. So since these kind of batteries, the adjustable kind, cost a lot more just for the adjustment option I should not go that route. So, with that in mind what would be a good battery for me? I would want one that goes as high/hot as the adjustable ones did. I don't know if it makes a difference but I am using the Viva Nova tank ( I've got to order more wicks for that also). I'm a girl so of course I like pretty ones. Also, cost is important. Where is an economical place to purchase batteries? No shipping charge would be a plus. Also, this being Fathers Day weekend, does anyone know of any place that has any good Fathers Day specials? Thanks a bunch for any suggestions and HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all the great fathers out there!

What happened to the spinner and twists?

They weren't that old! Are they just not doing it for ya

Std ego type batts run 3.5 - 3.7 twists run 4.2... So buying a std won't help

Maybe you should look into a different resistance in your vivi, are you burning out heads?

I rarely go over 4.0 on twists and even the Tesla tastes best at 3.9

Big volts don't always mean big vapor.....

I still have the Twist and Spinner and I am very satisfied with their performance. I am just super cautious and since I have to rely on my items being shipped to me I felt like I should always try to have 4 batteries. That way when the 2 I have go out I will have 2 more either on the way or here. Hopefully here already. I like that Tesla of yours, it is very pretty, but I would never use all those fancy gadgets. What are the benefits of your Tesla? Thanks for telling me about the std not getting as hot as the twist and spinner. I sure would have been unhappy to get 2 new batteries that were weak. Where is a good place to get the Twists? I don't know why but the Vision Spinner 1100 in very hard to find in stock. No biggy though, I really can't tell the difference between the Twist and Spinner. I also did not know that big volts did not mean big vapor. I figured the stronger the battery the hotter the juice. I have burned out 2 wicks on my Viva Nova and 2 Clearomizers. As I said I really like a strong throat hit and that is, I'm sure, why I am burning them out so quickly. I make sure I always keep it 1/2 to 3/4 full of juice to help avoid doing that.

Like you, Patricia, the Twist I had burned out on me with a quickness. I got the stupid thing in late January / early February, and never saw much difference between the voltages. So, I left it at 4.8 and used it primarily for a standard resistance drip atty. Subsequently, it burned out in less than a month. (Could it also be that this cheap Chinese crap is....well.....crap to begin with??) Just because you like keeping things simple (much like myself), does not mean that your options are entirely limited. First, you could go with a standard eGo and low-resistance head / carto / whatever. Super compact, lots of colors to choose from, and fairly inexpensive, yet durable. (Hey, I still use my eGo setup....that thing is solid!!!) Next, you could get a mod of some sort. This option does require some research, but it opens up the possibilities. For example: since you like simplicity, get a mod with variable wattage (vamo, z-max, etc.), and figure out what setting works best for you, and that mod will deliver that wattage no matter what device you put on it (within the mod's amp limitation, of course). Or, you could get a simple electrical mod (silver bullet, or bolt) and a Kick. Set your watts, and vape away. If you don't like the color or finish options, you could go to J-Wraps (forgot the link....derp), and put a skin on your mod. Finally, there's the option of getting a mechanical mod and rebuildable atomizer.....but, this option requires a ton of research and patience beforehand, and is definitely not for everyone. But, I include the option for sake of being thorough. (Who knows.....maybe it actually will pique your interest rather than frighten and intimidate, like it does to most Vapers) Good luck in your search!!!

With my Spinner 1300mah I cannot even turn it all the way up using 1.8 and 2.2 ohm resistance without getting a severe burned taste. I get all mine at Sweet-Vapes.com for $24.95. They had all colors in stock the last time I checked. Brian at the Veteran Vaper told me he is trying to get them and when he does I will order from him even if he is a couple dollars more. He said since Chinese New Year things got a little scarce but is normalizing now. I vape my fruit flavors at 3.8v with 1.8-2.0ohm and my tobacco flavor at 4.0v and 2.2ohm. Just the sweet spot that works for me. I have two EGO 1000mah as backup that always run at 3.7v so having 4 batteries is not a bad idea BUT I have not even turned on one of the 1000mah since my Spinners in.

Okay it sounded like your batts were dead and gone already...

Tessie is pretty, and not a lot of fancy gadgets, but the same benefits of most APV,s

Best thing is battery life, tells me what the batt charged to, and it's current charge in volts. I bought three batts for it, and a good charger, I always worried about the ego types, you never know what ya got unless you just took it of the charger.

She tells me the ohms on any appliance I top her with, but she prefers Pro tanks, as less refills occur. I can never remember what ohm head I replaced with as they come with two diff ohm replacement heads.

With the ohm measurement, I check my handie chart, gives me the minimum , maximum, and preferable, watts, and volts, I dial that in easy peasy vapeing crazy.

Tess is built like a chrome hammer, and lots of venting, just in case she gets pissed. Easy to grip and once again solid, some APVs are a lot more gadgeted, but fragile, one drop and gone, just sayin

But I am not the expert here for sure, but if you use a different resistance coil on your VV sticks, you could get more of what your looking for, maybe a different tank, maybe different juice, it all has bearing on your throat hit. Wish you could find a close ECig store, or a vape meet, so you could check out what's available in person, much better than buying blind on the internut. Seems Veteran Vapes has the current great review for hardware sales. I'm a brick and mortar guy, gotta keep my locals open!

Big volts has little to do with how much vapor you get. That's more along the lines of how much VG is in your e-liquid. You want more vapor? Go with a higher VG level. More throat hit? Higher PG and/or nicotine. I'm not sure but it could also be that you're using too high a voltage, which could be hindering your set up from giving you the best your battery and clearomizer can produce.

Also, too much VG in a juice could clog your clearomizer's wicks as more VG also means thicker juices that don't wick as well (usually).

I get plenty of vapor (as in sometimes I feel like I'm sitting in a cloud of it) with 50 VG/50 PG, and enough throat hit with 12 mg of nicotine although you may want to go with 24 mg for a stronger throat hit. Give it a try at around 4 volts and see if that works for you. :)

MCVapes on YouTube recently put up a two-part tutorial on getting big vapor. Even though he's gearing the video more for rebuildables, the principles are still the same. 1) Lower resistance = hotter coil 2) More air moving over hotter coil = more vapor In short, if you can figure out how to get a more airy draw off your current device (maybe use a slightly modified 510 to 510 adapter), and its resistance is in the 1.5 to 2 ohm range, you can get decent clouds off a standard eGo. If on a Twist / Spinner, you can also run more voltage until you find a balance that puts out the vapor you want without burning up the coil. May not fill the room like a mechanical mod running a .5 ohm dual coil RBA setup with a 1/8" air hole.....but, you'll get some good vapor for sure!!!
