  1. All I can say is don't charge your e-cig while you leave it in a hot car. http://www.kpho.com/story/22071692/lighting-up-e-cigarette-charger-sparks-car-fire-in-az
  2. Just started using my new EVOD from Veteran Vaper last night. I'm using 100% VG e-liquid, batt is a standard eGo. I'm getting a lot of snap, crackle and pop when I activate the battery to vape and it's not going away. Any suggestions? Is this normal? Should I consider removing some of the wick?
  3. Neat concept - would be nice to go back to hands-free vaping again. I wonder how they solved the auto-battery problem, i.e. juice gets into the sensor and battery soon dies? My first two e-cigs had that problem (anyone remember the original 901 or the pen styles?) I may just keep my eye out for this. Thanks for posting, robv1978!
  4. I'm feeling kind of like you, JeffB, on this one. I mean, I try to stay ahead of my e-liquid needs, but let's face it, sometimes we all run out or are on the verge of running out and when that new shipment arrives in the mail (for those of us who still don't have a brick & mortar store nearby), am I really expected to let my juice steep for 2 or 3 days (or longer) before I use it? I want to know if there's any SCIENCE behind this, a chemistry-based reason why I should steep my juices, or if this is just voodoo. For those who make DIY juice, I might be more easily convinced that letting freshly mixed juice sit out in the open might improve flavor. But for the stuff I get, and for the price I pay for it, I expect it to be vape-ready when it hits my mailbox. Plus, in the summer months, leaving something sweet smelling out on a counter or even in a cabinet is just inviting some insect to fall into it.
  5. Okay, for those of you who know me, I just passed my four-year vaping anniversary. Not a single analog in four years after smoking a pack and a half a day (of 100's) for twenty-plus years. I've been fascinated by vaping and how it has developed and evolved over this time period. I bought e-liquid from Johnson Creek when I first started, and actually thought it was good (gasp!). Oh how wrong we all were. I just received my first batch from Virgin Vapor and their website mentioned steeping their e-liquid, as did other sites when I was shopping around for something new (and hopefully better). So can somebody please explain to me what this new buzz is about letting your e-liquid "steep?" Is there anything valid behind this that has some proof to back it up? And if so, how exactly does one "steep" their e-liquid?
  6. I agree with Synther and Ninjabat. Don't think you got the chest cold from Blu cigs. And I think going with the eGo models is a better place to start off. They've been around awhile and are still a go to device for me.
  7. I'll throw my two cents in here: I just got two of the Tabac BCC clearos last week (from VapeGeek, my first ever order with them). I hate to disagree with anyone, but I really enjoyed the flavor using with my eGo battery, never got a dry hit. But here's the catch: After less than a week's use, vapor production is down and now every juice I put in there has a pronounced burnt flavor. I admit, I'm probably categorized as a heavy vaper, but c'mon. A week? Oh, and it drips out of the top right after I refill it (you have to invert the carto and fill it from the bottom). Just one big drop as you re-insert the metal tube, but enough to make a nice stain if you're not careful. We'll see how long the second one lasts. . .
  8. No, it doesn't sound weird that a 1.8 coil would be hotter! It's expected! A 1.8 coil means it's offering less resistance to the power flowing out of the battery than a higher ohm coil. In my experience, coils/atomizers are the main variable in the whole vaping experience, and I say this from nearly four years of vaping experience. I also say it with more than a hint of frustration in my voice. I have a Vivi-Nova Mini tank which I run on my Innokin iTaste (a variable voltage battery device). I purchased one set of five (5) coils at 2.4 ohms, and every one of them seems to be a little different. Some last two weeks, some only a week before they start getting a harsh/burnt taste, or the taste/vapor just drop off to an unacceptable level. I just want some consistency, is that too much to ask? (And I don't mean to take a shot at the Chinese workers who are assembling these things for incredibly low wages under sh*tty conditions. It's not their fault.) I purchased an off-brand set of five (5) 2.4 ohm coils advertised for use on the Vivi-Nova, and not only can I not screw the mouthpiece down all the way (because then the coil won't fire at all) but the vapor is hot and harsh. Unless your battery is somehow defective, (and I doubt this), it's the coil. If you've got a replacement (let me guess, the 2.8 ohm that came with the Vivi Nova?) give that a try. Buy some quality coils at 2.4 ohms when you get the chance and you should be happy. I open it up to the floor to disagree. I suppose the new wave is rebuildable coils. I haven't taken the plunge yet, but it appears some posters are having good luck with them.
  9. This is a neat idea - I'd like to see other devices pick up on the wireless charging concept (if it works).
  10. I'm with you Tameiki. I'm not getting pulled over by a cop and asked what that nubbly thing is I keep putting in my mouth.
  11. Wow, haven't given it a try but thanks to your post I'm going to put it on my wish list! I also need to have a tooth pulled soon, so your posts about that have been helpful. Best of luck in your recovery.
  12. It really looks pretty cool! Reminds me of my most recent purchase, the iTaste MVP, with many of the same features, and the screen makes it really stand out. I also like the power button on the thin side vs. the fat side like on the MVP. @Tameiki, the MVP is my first box mod (my first mod of any kind, in fact!) and I've been vaping for nearly four years. Pros of the box mod? Longer battery life (although the above ad's claim of one week's vaping is probably a little misleading), nice heft, variable voltage, it doesn't tip over so easily when you set it down, and it doesn't look like a traditional cigarette. Cons? It's bulky, hard to drive with it in your hand (nearly impossible I've found ), takes a few hours to charge it back up, and not terribly discreet to use. How much longer before they combine e-cigs with MP3 players? This SLB device looks like a fat iPod!
  13. So where does that fall in the spectrum of LR vs. SR for determining what voltage to vape it at?
  14. I feel I could evade a horse-sized duck easier. As long as I had something to hide behind.
  15. I also have the MVP, and I started using it along with the clearos they provided. The Innokin clearos are taller as JeffB said. They're also "dual coil". I found that, after a few days, I didn't really like them all that much. They heat up too quickly and so I have to set the PV aside while they cool down. I don't know what resistance they are as I've been too lazy to hook them up to my multimeter. I'm therefore at a complete loss as to what voltage to vape them at. I've tried everything up and down the scale and I still can't make up my mind. I'm new to VV vaping. I get the concept, but when people talk about finding that "sweet spot," well, I just don't get it with these Innokin clearos. Yet when I put on a new LR Vision Clearo, no problem. I'm surprised to hear you're having an issue with these, Jeff. I've had no airflow issues at all, and I screw them right on down, and I certainly prefer them to the Innokin clearos. I vape the LR Vision Clearos at 3.9 V, and that seems to work well for me. As I said, I'm a noob to VV. My next clearo to try on the MVP is the Vivi Nova. I've heard such good things about them.
  16. My iTaste MVP arrived in the mail today, completely un-charged. Innokin site says charging time is 3.5 to 5.5 hours! I'll post a review in a couple days and let you all know what I think. My first VV mod after nearly 4 years vaping!
  17. PBusardo's review (posted on Nov. 8 on YouTube) gave it a thumbs up, and he mentions it's available for $10 cheaper at electronicstix.com, but when I go to their website, it says it's not available. His review made my mind up: I'm getting one. EDIT: Called Electronicstix and they're out of stock for a couple weeks. Sold out of them quick, and the guy on the phone said he has one and loves it.
  18. Just an update, I have found this product for sale here in the USA. Don't know anything about the seller. http://www.vapingxtreme.com/iTaste-MVP_p_94.html
  19. Sure is shiny! I can imagine myself in a tuxedo walking into the Waldorf-Astoria vaping this (while humming "Puttin' on the Ritz")!
  20. Very interested in this. Looks like it wicks from the bottom.
  21. I wasn't going to be the one to say "sex toys," so I'm glad you did. And I heartily agree with your statement. Edit: BTW, the link to the UK site is http://www.ukecigstore.com/Innokin%20MVP%20Variable%20Voltage%202600mAh%20Pre%20Order-innokin-mvp
